Seth Woolcock and Scott Bogman react to the first 2026 AP Top 25 and then dig into six college football season win totals they believe offer value right now. Which teams are being overrated by the preseason hype, and which teams could outperform their expectations? The guys break down Mississippi State UNDER 4.5, Liberty UNDER 8.5, Clemson OVER 8.5, Georgia Tech OVER 6.5, Kent State UNDER 2.5, and Utah OVER 8.5, including the schedules, returning production, quarterback situations, roster strength and betting numbers behind each pick. They also discuss potential AP Top 25 risers and fallers, Group of 6 teams that were overlooked, and why teams like Texas Tech and Miami could make a major move up the rankings once the season gets underway. If you're betting college football in 2026, these are season win totals you’ll want to have on your radar before the numbers move.

Historiansplaining: A historian tells you why everything you know is wrong
Post on patreon for patrons only for 6 months: We tackle the deepest mystery surrounding the ancient bog bodies: why were people ritually killed and deposited in bogs for millennia? Were they targets of murder, execution, or sacrifice? We analyze the long and tense debate over Britain's most famous bog body, Lindow Man, who met a brutal end in a bog in Northwest England in the 1st century AD, and in so doing, we refute the accident and criminal-murder (or “Iron-Age mugging”) theories. We carefully dissect the notion of the “threefold death,” which purports to link bog bodies like Lindow Man to ancient Celtic gods and myths. Finally, we explore the more difficult and nuanced question of whether bog killings were primarily executions or sacrifices, weighing evidences ranging from preserved last meals to manicured nails to Julius Caesar's macabre account of the “Wicker Man” sacrifice in ancient Gaul. Finally, we return to Lindow Moss, and consider the possibility that Lindow Man's death was a desperate wartime measure to combat the Roman advance. In this Pastor's Choice message, “A River or a Bog?”, Mark Medley brings a vivid and searching question to the center of everyday discipleship: are we living as people through whom God's blessing flows, or are we becoming stagnant by holding too tightly to what we have been given?Beginning with Proverbs 11:24-25, Mark points to the surprising wisdom of God's kingdom: “One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.” Generosity is not merely a financial principle; it is a way of life. Those who refresh others are themselves refreshed. From there, he traces the picture of rivers throughout Scripture, from the river flowing out of Eden in Genesis to the river of the water of life in Revelation, bright as crystal and bringing healing to the nations.Rivers in the Bible speak of God's presence, nourishment, cleansing, comfort, new beginnings, and life that moves outward. A river remains fresh because it flows. It receives and releases. It blesses what is downstream. A bog, by contrast, turns inward. Its waters grow murky. Its ground becomes unstable. It traps, grips, and paralyzes. Through a striking story from the Mourne Mountains of Northern Ireland, Mark shows how unforgettable—and dangerous—the bog image really is.This message presses the question into personal life, family culture, business practice, and church mission. There are seasons when God draws us close for healing, strengthening, and restoration, but we are not meant to remain permanently closed off in self-protection. God heals us so that life can flow through us again.Mark then turns to the book of Acts, contrasting the early church in Jerusalem, which experienced power and community yet struggled to move outward, with the church in Antioch, a diverse, praying, fasting, sending church that released its best people for the work of God. Acts 1, Acts 8, and Acts 13 become a challenge to every believer and every church: will we resist the outward call of Jesus, or will we become a river for the nations? The message concludes with Zechariah's vision of a Jerusalem without walls and with Jesus' invitation in John 7: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.” Christ is the source of living water, and those who come to Him are invited into His generous, outward-moving mission. God is calling His people to be a river, not a bog.We are Trinity Community Church in Knoxville, Tennessee.Subscribe to our Podcast & YouTube channel to find past sermons, classes, interviews, and more!Find us on Facebook & Instagram

Spoznali smo življenje Saše Rolih in Lučke Pajk, ki imata vsaka svojo vrsto cerebralne paralize. Pot ni lahka, a pričujeta, kako Bog sčasoma vse prav uredi in postavi na pravo mesto. Spregovorili sta o moli vere, o dobrih ljudeh in prijateljih ter daru pesništva in likovnega izražanja.

Historiansplaining: A historian tells you why everything you know is wrong
The most exhaustive survey that you will find of the “Bog Bodies” – the highly preserved human remains, often of ancient Iron-Age people whose lives were ended violently, that have been discovered in wetlands all across northern Europe, from Estonia to Ireland, over the past 250 years. We consider how, when, and why these often shockingly intact bodies have been found, what facts can be gleaned about who they were, and finally, when and where the practice of killing people and placing them into bogs originated (hint: it's in the title). In the next installment, we will discuss the competing theories as to why these Iron Age people died violently, incuding murder, execution, and sacrifice. Magician On Duty Journey Series welcomes Miami-based selector Ricardito (@ric_dimensions) for a deeply personal recording that reflects the places, people and moments that have shaped his musical path. Drawing inspiration from the underground cultures of London, New York and South Florida, Ricardito has cultivated a sound that effortlessly drifts between organic house, deep grooves and hypnotic rhythms. His approach is less about chasing genres and more about creating emotional movement—building sets that invite listeners into a shared experience where dance, introspection and connection coexist. Over the years, Ricardito has become a familiar presence across Miami's vibrant electronic music community, soundtracking sunset beach gatherings, intimate boat parties on Biscayne Bay and immersive experiences at Love Burn as part of the CYMATICA camp. His journey has also taken him through beloved collectives including Fun the Pain Away, Lunarcrats, Sky Bar and Banana Hammocks, while appearances at venues such as Sable, M2, Mad Radio, ZeyZey and Do Not Sit On The Furniture have further established his reputation as a thoughtful and versatile selector. His contribution to the Magician On Duty Journey Series captures that same spirit of exploration. Carefully woven together, the mix moves through organic textures, melodic storytelling and late-night energy, balancing introspective moments with uplifting grooves. Featuring music from Temple Step Project & Darpan, Roze, Fernn, Jon.K, Eternal Moment, Space Food, BOg, Danny Tenaglia, Booka Shade, Patrice Bäumel, Boris Brejcha and many more, the journey also includes unexpected reinterpretations of Portishead, Depeche Mode and Nelly Furtado, creating a seamless narrative that feels both nostalgic and forward-looking. Rather than simply presenting a collection of tracks, Ricardito treats the recording as a living memory—one inspired by friendships, places and fleeting moments that continue to resonate long after the music fades. It's an invitation to slow down, lose yourself in the journey and reconnect through rhythm. Junija pred 180 leti je v naše kraje pripeljal prvi vlak. Slovesno in vzneseno so takrat pričakali novo dobo razvoja in napredka. What happens when you willingly sign up to do something that seems impossible? In this episode of the Champion Living Podcast, Doug Champion welcomes JR back to the show to relive their recent Spartan Race experience—a challenge that tested far more than physical fitness. From brutal carries and slippery climbs to deep mud bogs, barbed wire crawls, and a dramatic finish through the fire pit, this race became a powerful lesson in resilience, teamwork, mindset, and discovering what you're truly capable of when quitting isn't an option. For JR, the race represented something even bigger. After feeling like he'd hit a plateau, Spartan reignited the "one more rep" mentality that has fueled so much of his journey. Together, Doug and JR discuss how pushing beyond perceived limitations creates growth, why surrounding yourself with the right people matters, and how adversity often reveals strengths you didn't know you had. The conversation is packed with hilarious moments, hard-earned lessons, and practical insights for athletes, competitors, and anyone chasing growth in life. Along the way, they recount unforgettable race moments, including navigating treacherous obstacles, surviving the infamous mud bog, completing a grueling barbed-wire army crawl where JR lost his pants while his uncle threw dollar bills onto the course, and ultimately crossing the finish line after 2 hours and 22 minutes of relentless effort. The episode also highlights JR's mission through the Spur Your Way Out Foundation, which helps individuals overcome obstacles by providing access to life-changing equipment and opportunities. Donations help fund resources such as FES bikes, track chairs, and other adaptive equipment that empower people to continue pursuing an active and meaningful life. Anti-Clockwise at the Bog This morning's adventure started with an easy e-bike ride out to Rithet's Bog. Once there, I left the bike behind and headed onto the trails for a relaxed run through one of my favourite local nature spots. The bog was quiet, the legs felt good, and it was one of those outings where the kilometres seemed to take care of themselves. After the run, I cruised home on the bike, letting the ride double as a recovery session. A great way to spend a Sunday morning combining fresh air, movement, and a little time in nature.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-running-jackal--500980/support.

You remind me of the babe! This week on 3 Guys and a Flick, we enter Jim Henson's strange, musical, puppet-filled fantasy world as we review the 1986 cult classic Labyrinth. This episode takes us through Sarah's journey to rescue baby Toby from David Bowie's mesmerizing Goblin King, Jareth. Along the way, we talk Bowie's unforgettable presence, Jennifer Connelly's early performance, Henson's ambitious puppetry, the movie's darker coming-of-age themes, the soundtrack, the creepy factor, the Bog of Eternal Stench, and whether nostalgia does a lot of heavy lifting for this beloved fantasy film. Is Labyrinth a magical cult classic, an awkward 80s fever dream, or a technically impressive movie trapped somewhere between kids' film and adult fantasy? Grab your crystal balls, watch out for helping hands, and join us as we review the good, the bad, and the absurd.

They examined the film's production, including its $100,000 Guardian creature puppet, visual effects by Richard Edlund and Steve Johnson, and the Fox backlot sets used for filming. The hosts discussed the film's characters, particularly James Hong's performance as Lopan, and analyzed key scenes including the supernatural battles and optical effects. They compared the film favorably to previous episodes' selections like "Rawhead Rex" and "Transmutations," concluding that "Big Trouble in Little China" was more entertaining and well-executed. The podcast included technical difficulties with Ryan's Blu-ray player and audio issues, but they managed to complete their thorough analysis of the film's narrative structure, special effects, and cultural significance. Clive Barker Podcast Discussion Ryan and José discussed their podcast episode focusing on Clive Barker's Contemporary Commentaries for 1986, where they selected Big Trouble in Little China for comparison with Barker's film. They reflected on previous comparisons, with José favoring Enter the Dragon over The Forbidden and both preferring Salome over Invasion of the Body Snatchers. The conversation ended with them preparing to discuss Big Trouble in Little China after the opening 20th Century Fox logo. Big Trouble in Little China Analysis José and Ryan discussed the film Big Trouble in Little China, focusing on its reception as a flop at the time of release despite now being considered one of John Carpenter's best movies. They analyzed the character dynamics, particularly how Jack Burton's story takes a backseat to Wang's narrative, and discussed the film's unique blend of grounded and fantasy elements. The conversation also covered the film's production history, including casting considerations and a 2014 comic book continuation that picks up where the film ends. Big Trouble in Little China Analysis Ryan and José discussed the film "Big Trouble in Little China," focusing on its action sequences, characters, and supernatural elements. They analyzed specific scenes, including the extended ending with the red Camaro and the fight sequences involving different gangs. They also reflected on their childhood experiences watching the movie and its cultural impact. Big Trouble in Little China Discussion José and Ryan discussed the movie "Big Trouble in Little China," focusing on various aspects including character details, special effects, cinematography, and music. They explored specific plot points, such as the roles of characters like Jack Burton, Gracie Law, and Miao Yin, as well as the movie's use of animation and sets. José noted the film's great cinematography and mentioned being tired after landscaping, while both highlighted the movie's engaging elements and memorable scenes. Movie Analysis and Visual Effects José and Ryan discussed various aspects of a movie, focusing on its visual effects, plot elements, and comparisons to other John Carpenter films. They analyzed specific scenes, including the use of green fire, supernatural creatures, and the movie's mix of styles. The conversation also touched on the cinematography, the character EggShen, and the movie's tone compared to other films in the series. Movie Special Effects Discussion José and Ryan discussed the special effects and makeup in the movie, including the connection between it and Lord of Illusions through Steve Johnson. They compared it to Silver Bullet, concluding that Silver Bullet was better despite Gary Busey's presence in Transmutations. The conversation also covered production details like the sloping corridor set and optical effects used in the movie. Film Location and Production Planning José and Ryan discussed filming locations, noting that costs and logistics led to filming at the Fox Backlot in LA instead of San Francisco. They analyzed various movie scenes, including action sequences, character dynamics, and set details, while also discussing the technical aspects of water and bullet effects in filmmaking. The conversation included references to other films and characters, and they explored ideas for creating graphics comparing monsters from different movies. Big Trouble in Little China Analysis José and Ryan discussed various aspects of the film "Big Trouble in Little China," including specific scenes, character backgrounds, and production details. They analyzed the film's tropes, such as the door scene, and discussed deleted scenes and the roles of actors like Kim Cattrall and Dennis Dun. The conversation also touched on the film's set design, miniatures, and monsters, as well as the background of the music video for "Dolly Dagger" featuring James Hong. Movie Production Discussion Meeting José and Ryan discussed various aspects of a movie, including character backgrounds, plot details, and special effects. They talked about actors' roles, such as Susie Pai's transition from cheerleading to modeling and acting, and Carter Wong's casting due to his Thai boxing skills. They also analyzed specific scenes, props, and effects, including the Bog of Eternal Stench and the Guardian puppet, noting the significant effort and cost involved in creating certain elements. They compared it to other horror films like Rawhead Rex and Hellraiser, expressing a preference for Big Trouble in Little China. The conversation then shifted to planning future content, including a Book Club of Blood discussion on The Body Politic and potential 1987 horror movie selections for voting. They also briefly discussed the use of AI in content creation and its impact on documentary-style videos.
Step inside the Goblin King's maze with this special live episode of Cinebuds! Recorded at the historic Oriental Theatre during the 2026 Milwaukee Film Festival, this episode celebrates the 40th anniversary (and 4K restoration) of the fantasy classic, Labyrinth. For this very special occasion, Dori and Kpolly enlisted some help from Steve Horton, Eisner-winning author of the graphic novel Bowie: Stardust, Ray Guns, and Moonage Daydreams. He shares a few fascinating insider stories about Labyrinth from his research, including how Bowie would use a puppet off-camera to charm baby Toby into staying calm during filming. The trio also dive into: Why Bowie was the perfect Jareth (and which other '80s icons almost got the part). A tribute to Jim Henson's timeless practical effects and the lovable "gentle giant," Ludo. Hilarious behind-the-scenes secrets, from the infamous "codpiece" to Jennifer Connelly's real reaction to the Bog of Eternal Stench. And it wouldn't be a live event without getting the audience involved, including a few brave souls who offer their questions and "hot takes."#####Cinebuds is sponsored by Joe Wilde Garage Door Company.
