Bože daj meni i mojoj reprezentaciji gol nisu molitve, nego želje. A Bog nikada ne ispunja želje nego blagoslivlje trud i igru koja gradi zajedništvo.

Nadaljujemo potovanje skozi Staro zavezo.

Ta zgodba pove veliko o naravi starogrških bogov, boginj in njihovih podobnikov in podobnic. Slovesno in vzneseno so takrat pričakali novo dobo razvoja in napredka. What happens when you willingly sign up to do something that seems impossible? In this episode of the Champion Living Podcast, Doug Champion welcomes JR back to the show to relive their recent Spartan Race experience—a challenge that tested far more than physical fitness. From brutal carries and slippery climbs to deep mud bogs, barbed wire crawls, and a dramatic finish through the fire pit, this race became a powerful lesson in resilience, teamwork, mindset, and discovering what you're truly capable of when quitting isn't an option. For JR, the race represented something even bigger. After feeling like he'd hit a plateau, Spartan reignited the "one more rep" mentality that has fueled so much of his journey. Together, Doug and JR discuss how pushing beyond perceived limitations creates growth, why surrounding yourself with the right people matters, and how adversity often reveals strengths you didn't know you had. The conversation is packed with hilarious moments, hard-earned lessons, and practical insights for athletes, competitors, and anyone chasing growth in life. Along the way, they recount unforgettable race moments, including navigating treacherous obstacles, surviving the infamous mud bog, completing a grueling barbed-wire army crawl where JR lost his pants while his uncle threw dollar bills onto the course, and ultimately crossing the finish line after 2 hours and 22 minutes of relentless effort. The episode also highlights JR's mission through the Spur Your Way Out Foundation, which helps individuals overcome obstacles by providing access to life-changing equipment and opportunities. Anti-Clockwise at the Bog This morning's adventure started with an easy e-bike ride out to Rithet's Bog. Once there, I left the bike behind and headed onto the trails for a relaxed run through one of my favourite local nature spots. The bog was quiet, the legs felt good, and it was one of those outings where the kilometres seemed to take care of themselves. After the run, I cruised home on the bike, letting the ride double as a recovery session. A great way to spend a Sunday morning combining fresh air, movement, and a little time in nature.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-running-jackal--500980/support.

Esri Ireland, the market leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), has announced that Waterways Ireland has developed an interactive digital map exploring the rich heritage of the Grand Canal. The map, titled A Boatman's Journey, brings the public on an immersive storytelling experience across Ireland, from Dublin's docks in the east to Shannon Harbour in the west. It was built using Esri's ArcGIS technology. Waterways Ireland is responsible for restoring, developing, and promoting over 1,100 kilometres of inland waterways across Ireland and Northern Ireland. The Grand Canal, completed in 1804, was a marvel of engineering and a crucial artery for trade and passengers. The interactive map charts a boatman's virtual journey along the 130-kilometre-long waterway, travelling on a barge which was designed specifically for the Grand Canal in 1925. Beginning at Dublin's bustling docklands, the boatman navigates a variety of locks, bridges, and aqueducts, as well as landmarks such as the Guinness Brewery. Leaving the urban landscape behind, the barge travels over the Bog of Allen, and through towns including Edenderry and Tullamore, before reaching its final destination of Shannon Harbour. Along the way, users can click on points to reveal information and links to fascinating historical documents, old photos, oral histories, amusing verbal anecdotes, 3D animations, and video clips relating specifically to each location. Presenting material mainly derived from the Waterways Ireland archive in an engaging format, the public can learn about how the canal was built, what life was like for workers on board the barges, and gain a new appreciation for the colourful history and vibrant present of the canal. It also helps people to develop stronger connections to the waterway in relation to their local communities and their own family histories. As well as a cultural voyage through history, A Boatman's Journey is also serving as an invaluable educational resource and Waterways Ireland has created lesson plans for teachers that link the map to the school curriculum. The map can continue to be expanded with new and additional content into the future and Waterways Ireland plans to develop further digital stories using Esri's ArcGIS technology relating to the other waterways it manages. Martina McCarthy, Heritage Officer, Waterways Ireland, said: "ArcGIS has undoubtedly enabled us to bring Ireland's Grand Canal heritage to a wider audience. People who might not otherwise engage with heritage information are really intrigued by the map and quickly become caught up in the narrative. The map enables people to visualise where events took place in their communities and improves their sense of connection with the local heritage on their doorstep. It immerses citizens in what it was like to work on the canal a hundred years ago and, in particular, it is amazing to see how the story draws young people in and gives them a new appreciation of their local waterways." Patricia Cleary, Lifelong Learning Programme Lead, Esri Ireland, said: "Esri Ireland's collaboration with Waterways Ireland demonstrates the transformative potential of ArcGIS technology in bringing stories to life. Additionally, the initiative promotes continuous learning via a rich, map-based storytelling experience. The map presents the material in a new and engaging way, making it easier for audiences to explore and understand the rich data and unique heritage facilities of Waterways Ireland. "As Waterways Ireland continues to boost public interest in the Grand Canal, the map will be pivotal in bridging the gap between past and future generations. As manager of the ArcGIS for Schools Programme, I highlight this StoryMap and other Waterways Ireland educational resources to the teachers I work with who find it easy to use and engage the students in. We look forward to continuing to build our relationship with Waterways Ireland into the future." See more stories here. More about Irish ...

You remind me of the babe! This week on 3 Guys and a Flick, we enter Jim Henson's strange, musical, puppet-filled fantasy world as we review the 1986 cult classic Labyrinth. This episode takes us through Sarah's journey to rescue baby Toby from David Bowie's mesmerizing Goblin King, Jareth. Along the way, we talk Bowie's unforgettable presence, Jennifer Connelly's early performance, Henson's ambitious puppetry, the movie's darker coming-of-age themes, the soundtrack, the creepy factor, the Bog of Eternal Stench, and whether nostalgia does a lot of heavy lifting for this beloved fantasy film. Is Labyrinth a magical cult classic, an awkward 80s fever dream, or a technically impressive movie trapped somewhere between kids' film and adult fantasy? Grab your crystal balls, watch out for helping hands, and join us as we review the good, the bad, and the absurd.

They examined the film's production, including its $100,000 Guardian creature puppet, visual effects by Richard Edlund and Steve Johnson, and the Fox backlot sets used for filming. The hosts discussed the film's characters, particularly James Hong's performance as Lopan, and analyzed key scenes including the supernatural battles and optical effects. They compared the film favorably to previous episodes' selections like "Rawhead Rex" and "Transmutations," concluding that "Big Trouble in Little China" was more entertaining and well-executed. The podcast included technical difficulties with Ryan's Blu-ray player and audio issues, but they managed to complete their thorough analysis of the film's narrative structure, special effects, and cultural significance. Clive Barker Podcast Discussion Ryan and José discussed their podcast episode focusing on Clive Barker's Contemporary Commentaries for 1986, where they selected Big Trouble in Little China for comparison with Barker's film. They reflected on previous comparisons, with José favoring Enter the Dragon over The Forbidden and both preferring Salome over Invasion of the Body Snatchers. The conversation ended with them preparing to discuss Big Trouble in Little China after the opening 20th Century Fox logo. Big Trouble in Little China Analysis José and Ryan discussed the film Big Trouble in Little China, focusing on its reception as a flop at the time of release despite now being considered one of John Carpenter's best movies. They analyzed the character dynamics, particularly how Jack Burton's story takes a backseat to Wang's narrative, and discussed the film's unique blend of grounded and fantasy elements. The conversation also covered the film's production history, including casting considerations and a 2014 comic book continuation that picks up where the film ends. Big Trouble in Little China Analysis Ryan and José discussed the film "Big Trouble in Little China," focusing on its action sequences, characters, and supernatural elements. They analyzed specific scenes, including the extended ending with the red Camaro and the fight sequences involving different gangs. They also reflected on their childhood experiences watching the movie and its cultural impact. Big Trouble in Little China Discussion José and Ryan discussed the movie "Big Trouble in Little China," focusing on various aspects including character details, special effects, cinematography, and music. Movie Special Effects Discussion José and Ryan discussed the special effects and makeup in the movie, including the connection between it and Lord of Illusions through Steve Johnson. They compared it to Silver Bullet, concluding that Silver Bullet was better despite Gary Busey's presence in Transmutations. The conversation also covered production details like the sloping corridor set and optical effects used in the movie. Film Location and Production Planning José and Ryan discussed filming locations, noting that costs and logistics led to filming at the Fox Backlot in LA instead of San Francisco. They analyzed various movie scenes, including action sequences, character dynamics, and set details, while also discussing the technical aspects of water and bullet effects in filmmaking. The conversation included references to other films and characters, and they explored ideas for creating graphics comparing monsters from different movies. Big Trouble in Little China Analysis José and Ryan discussed various aspects of the film "Big Trouble in Little China," including specific scenes, character backgrounds, and production details. They analyzed the film's tropes, such as the door scene, and discussed deleted scenes and the roles of actors like Kim Cattrall and Dennis Dun. The conversation also touched on the film's set design, miniatures, and monsters, as well as the background of the music video for "Dolly Dagger" featuring James Hong. Movie Production Discussion Meeting José and Ryan discussed various aspects of a movie, including character backgrounds, plot details, and special effects. They talked about actors' roles, such as Susie Pai's transition from cheerleading to modeling and acting, and Carter Wong's casting due to his Thai boxing skills. They also analyzed specific scenes, props, and effects, including the Bog of Eternal Stench and the Guardian puppet, noting the significant effort and cost involved in creating certain elements. They compared it to other horror films like Rawhead Rex and Hellraiser, expressing a preference for Big Trouble in Little China. The conversation then shifted to planning future content, including a Book Club of Blood discussion on The Body Politic and potential 1987 horror movie selections for voting. They also briefly discussed the use of AI in content creation and its impact on documentary-style videos.
Step inside the Goblin King's maze with this special live episode of Cinebuds! Recorded at the historic Oriental Theatre during the 2026 Milwaukee Film Festival, this episode celebrates the 40th anniversary (and 4K restoration) of the fantasy classic, Labyrinth. For this very special occasion, Dori and Kpolly enlisted some help from Steve Horton, Eisner-winning author of the graphic novel Bowie: Stardust, Ray Guns, and Moonage Daydreams. He shares a few fascinating insider stories about Labyrinth from his research, including how Bowie would use a puppet off-camera to charm baby Toby into staying calm during filming. The trio also dive into: Why Bowie was the perfect Jareth (and which other '80s icons almost got the part). A tribute to Jim Henson's timeless practical effects and the lovable "gentle giant," Ludo. Hilarious behind-the-scenes secrets, from the infamous "codpiece" to Jennifer Connelly's real reaction to the Bog of Eternal Stench. And it wouldn't be a live event without getting the audience involved, including a few brave souls who offer their questions and "hot takes."#####Cinebuds is sponsored by Joe Wilde Garage Door Company.

In this episode of 32 Thoughts, Kyle Bukauskas and Elliotte Friedman react to Leon Draisaitl leaving Sunday's game after a hit from Ozzy Wiesblatt, while the Oilers don't sound overly concerned and responded on the ice. They discuss Connor McDavid weighing in on player safety and suspensions, and what Gary Bettman's response could be when the Board of Governors meets in Florida (5:51). The guys also touch on World Cup of Hockey host cities being on the BOG agenda (22:30), while goalie interference debate resurfaces again after the Ottawa–Anaheim incident over the weekend (23:40). They note the end of Dave Alter's impressive reporting streak (31:00), Mason McTavish's surprising healthy scratch (35:30), and a tough weekend for Montreal despite Jacob Fowler continuing to show promise (40:30). The episode also covers Bobby McMann's hot start in Seattle (44:30), the tightening playoff races (47:50), Dan Muse entering the Coach of the Year conversation (48:40), and where Macklin Celebrini might land on Hart Trophy ballots (50:30). The Final Thought focuses on Cole Hutson signing a three-year entry-level contract with the Washington Capitals (52:30). Kyle and Elliotte answer listener questions in the Thoughtline (1:00:56). Today we highlight a London, Ontario indie rock band Modern Morals and their track Yitzbin. Check them out here. Listen to all the 32 Thoughts music here.
