Kirk and Kyle talk a bunch of stuff including their dream casting for the Tiger King movie while recording S5E4, S5E5, S5E6, and S5E7 of NYPD Blue Balls. (Recorded: ?/?/?) (Slightly Edited)
I had to come to terms with the fact that writing about something was not the moral equivalent of doing it. I would not commit adultery, but I wanted to write a whole book about an affair. I know it sounds simpleminded, but I actually had to have a conversation with myself about this in the beginning, convincing myself that it was alright to depict this affair. - Jonellen Heckler The post S5E4 – Is it Okay if I Write _____? appeared first on Writing Roots.
Talking Through Skidmark On this episode 55 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Brian and Kyle are joined again by our special guest co-host Mark from The Walking Dead Talk Through, as we talk through Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 4, which is titled, Skidmark. This was written by Samir Mehta, his first episode on this show, and directed by Tara Nicole Weyr, making her second stint as a director on this show. She previously directed S4E11 The Code. We have more feedback for last week’s episode… S5E3 coverage starts at 20:57… Before we get into this week’s episode, we have to share more feedback we received for last week’s episode, S5E3 Humbug’s Gulch. Discussion on this week’s episode starts at 20 minutes and 57 seconds into the podcast. A cat that listens to you! We get a good cold open this episode, with Daniel showing how he uses Skidmark as a diversionary tactic. That little guy seems to know how to get the zombies’ attention and smart enough to know not to let them get too close. I thought this was a great use of the cat, though some would say most cats don’t take commands. However, they do exist. One of my cats, Tazz, reminds me of Skidmark. He listens to commands and usually follows them. We also see Daniel be The Pied Piper of walkers again, something he did in S1E6 The Good Man. More of those kids!!! Quick, get to the choppa! We see that there are more than just Dylan, Max, and Annie that are around. There are more kids, lots more. What happened that made them so scared of grown-ups? Then, we see that symbol we saw when Althea was taken, and We see the helicopter again, and it’s pretty clear this is from the same group… you know, the A or B group… that took away Rick and Jadis in the helicopter on TWD. It seems we’ll get to know more about this group next episode. No, get to the plane, I mean walker chopper! This episode had a unique way to take care of walkers… the plane propellers. That was a pretty cool stunt, helping to save Daniel and at least a truce be called between Daniel and Strand. I thought the scenes with Daniel and Charlie were nice, too. Could he become a foster father for her? FTWD Ratings are down to a new low… This week, FTWD ratings sunk to a new low in the 18-49 demographic. S5E4 Skidmark got a 0.45 in the 18-49 demographic with 1.655 million viewers, the lowest since S4E12 Weak, down from the last week‘s 0.54 and 1.756 million viewers. Again, there was no Talking Dead this week so no ratings for it.

Tonight's show contains SPOILERS up through the last episode, + possible information from current AMC official promo materials! Welcome to S5E4! After tonight, there will be 4 more episodes until the mid-season finale. Season 5 will be doing the traditional 50/50 split season, with 8 episodes running until July 21st. We will keep our listeners informed when we get confirmation of those dates. Typically we start the show a half hour before the new episode airs live each week, with recap from the previous episode, and discussion of what is to come tonight. At 9:00 pm, we'll go dark or mute, and watch the new episode together, and give episode ratings from 1-10 and commentary during the commercial breaks. We will also give our listeners trivia on the show as well as the cast and crew, including bios, birthdays, and more. Our show is SPOILER and COMIC FREE. Nathan and Eppy discuss S5E4, White on White and Nearly Perfect. Tom Selleck guest stars as Lance White, a squeaky clean alternative vision of what a P.I. can be. Working together to investigate the kidnapping of a wealthy industrial magnates daughter, Lance White's charmed storybook life gives Rockford a lot to criticize - but figuring out the case hinges not on Lance's idealism but Rockford's pragmatism. Equal parts character study, deconstruction of the fictional P.I. tropes and truly hilarious writing, this is a real stand-out episode not just of The Rockford Files but of purely entertaining television. Berserker Cast has a reason to celebrate with this next installment of the podcast! We got a real life reunion of the surviving members of the Berserkers, and though it was under less than ideal circumstances, Darrell and I feel validated in the namessake of this podcast! We discuss Season 5 Episode 4 "Pope Breaks Bad", which originally aired on July 19, 2015. For all the havoc Pope could have wreaked, I was surprised at the more methodical approach he took to raising hell. Since the arrival of Sarah's character almost a full season ago, the writers have been very intentional about making Pope a more willing participant in the 2nd Mass and I can't help but wonder if it was all for the very purpose of standing in opposition to Tom here at the end of the series, right before the final battle. Game of Thrones: Sons of the Harpy proves to be the episode of zealots. We see the Sparrows, Sons of Harpy, Sand Snakes and Melisandre get all agro and pushy. The more level-headed players continue to be level-headed. Tommen says no to bloodshed, Jon says no to sexy time, Daenerys says no to some harmless fighting to the death, Doran says no to war. But you know all of them are just putting of the enivitable. The agents dive into all of that in this episode of the Weekly Update: Game of Thrones!
Talking Through Slabtown While our love affair with The Walking Dead never ends, it can wax and wane. After three powerful episodes, we came down off our high with the fourth episode of season 5, Slabtown. This Beth-centric episode didn’t pack quite the same punch, but it certainly did not lack for creepy. The mystery of what happened to Beth is finally divulged, and we are very glad it did not drag out for the whole first half of the season. (Cough cough Sophia! cough) This episode can most definitely be labeled a filler episode, but the reveal at the end makes for an exciting setup! Grady Memorial Hospital In this episode, we talk about what is going on with Grady Memorial Hospital and how we think Beth came to be there. We discuss the dynamics of the residents and how their post-apocalyptic survival is similar to other groups we’ve seen and how it differs. And of course, we talk about the ratings this week, and how they stacked up against baseball and football. In other news, it seems both red and blue can agree that The Walking Dead is an awesome show! Ratings are up Slabrown got a 7.60 in the 18-49 demographic with 14.518 million viewers, which is up from last week‘s 7.00 and 13.801 million viewers. Send in your feedback! We know you’re out there, and we can’t wait to hear from you! Leave us your feedback and tell us what you think the most Awesome Sauce moment in the episode was, who was your Survivor of the Week or give us your Death Predictions. “Four Walls and a Roof” continues the awesome streak that is Season 5 of The Walking Dead. The death toll rises as we get the first death of a major character this season as well as a few others. The ratings for this episode are still high, but Brian blames the World Series for the slight drop we see from last week. However, The Walking Dead still tops cable viewership for the third week in a row. In this week’s discussion, we talked about what we liked about the episode, as well as a few things that missed the mark. We talked a lot about Gareth and the termites, but we also managed to talk about other parts of the episode, too. Some questions are answered while new questions are raised. Join us as we get down to the nitty-gritty about our favorite show. We’d love to hear from you! Leave us your feedback and tell us what you think the most Awesome Sauce moment in the episode was, who was your Survivor of the Week or give us your Death Predictions. Who is with Daryl? Do you think it’s Carol? Beth? Morgan? Or is it some other person? Do you think we’ll find out next week? Are you excited about the spinoff series? Will you watch it? Let us know what you think, we may not survive the zombie apocalypse if you don’t! And see you next week, where we will be discussing S5E4, titled Slabtown. Finally, help us grow our survivor community by leaving a review or rating in iTunes. If you like what you hear, your review will help others find us, too. You can also join in the fun on Facebook by joining our group. How were ratings this week? Ratings for Four Walls and a Roof were 7.00 in the 18-49 demographic, with 13.801 million viewers, which is down from last week‘s 7.70 and 15.143 million.
Talking Poofy (Scott Brennan, Adam Richard, Toby Sullivan) present The Poofcast 78 (Season 5 Episode 4) guest starring Paul Horan and Wes Snelling. Wes Snelling joins us again for Dear Talking Poofy, mainly because we have gotten another letter about chopping off foreskins. This one has a bit of a twist to it, and for some reason pushes Toby over the edge into Grunty-esque hilarious fury. Paul Horan presents The Poofstory of the gays who went down on Titanic. He may not be able to get through the segment, because as you can imagine from that sentence alone, there is quite some fun to be had with the concept alone. Finally, Toby reveals that he is suffering from a crippling infirmity, which of course we treat with all the respect and sensitivity it deserves, i.e. none. WARNING The Poofcast contains coarse language, sexually explicit discussion, adult themes and many tired old gags about going down on Titanic.
