Tina Bratlund is a graduate of Loma Linda University, School of Allied Health Professions 1999 & 2001 (B.S. & M.S. respectively). She worked clinically as a Speech-Language Pathologist for 5 years. After achieving her PhD from James Madison University, she was an assistant professor at Central Michigan University and has now happily returned to teach at LLU. Her goal is to thrive. John 10:10 says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Martinelli Minimo shared his personal testimony in light of Proverbs 24:16. The topic of perseverance and courage is so near and dear to my heart. There are so many Christians out there struggling in their walk, ready to give up. The purpose of this sermon is to reveal the forgiveness and love pouring out from the heart of God. After making a decision to follow Jesus at the age of 18, he found myself stumbling multiple times and felt like giving up on my Christian walk. He became so discouraged until I discovered that the struggle itself is a sign of life. If you find yourself falling in your Christian walk, remember you are not cast off or forsaken. Just keep getting up. It may happen over and over again. But if you keep getting up, one day, you'll get up from that vice and never look back.
There are challenges to living a life that is purposeful and led by Jesus. How do you deal with stress? How do you maintain your faith when faced with finding balance between work, parenting, education, marriage, dating and other life changing decisions? What informs or guides your choices in career? Today's (this) message takes a look at three imperatives recorded in the gospels that provides answers to these questions.
