What would change if we woke up every morning with the settled knowledge that the Father loves us in exactly the same way he loves Jesus? Graham Cooke draws from 2 Timothy, John 15, and John 17 to show what full persuasion actually looks like — not a spiritual achievement, but a conviction so grounded that we can predict God's goodness before the day even begins. What does it mean to truly know whom we have believed?Key Scriptures:+ 2 Timothy 1:12. "...for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me."+ 1 Peter 4:8. "Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins."+ John 15:9. "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love."+ John 17:22-23. "The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one...that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me."To stay connected with Graham Cooke and Team Brilliant, visit brilliantperspectives.com

In this episode, we continue our Lenten book study on "The Way of Trust and Love" and focus on Chapter 3: Being Reconciled to Our Weakness. We talk about how our struggles with ourselves often spill over into our relationships with others and how learning to accept our own weakness can soften our hearts towards the weakness we see in those around us. We also reflect on the tension between accepting our littleness and desiring real conversion, how we become more aware of our imperfections as we draw closer to the Lord, and the gift of community in helping us clearly see our lives. This week, we invite you to receive God's love, extend that love to yourself, and then offer it freely to others. Heather's One Thing - Attending the funeral of Francis Bergsma Sister Miriam's One Thing - Stations of the Cross with Our Sister St. Thérèse from Little Way Books Michelle's One Thing - The funness of our listeners! Journal Questions: Where am I experiencing a lack of harmony in myself and in my relationships with others? Do I truly desire conversion? What parts of me are resistant to conversion? Where am I looking at the weaknesses of others instead of examining myself? When do I speak to myself with words of self-condemnation? Discussion Questions: What weaknesses or defects are you wrestling with right now? How is God inviting you into deeper communion with Him in this weakness? How is the Lord inviting you to embrace littleness this Lent? Where is the Lord calling you to forgo constant management of your life and to embrace the mystery & trust of a life with Christ? How have you slowed down this Lent? How has this slower pace impacted your spiritual life? Quotes to Ponder: "If we accept ourselves as we are, we also accept God's love for us. But if we reject ourselves, if we despise ourselves, we shut ourselves off from the love God has for us, we deny that love. If we accept ourselves in our weakness, our limitations, it will also be easier for us to accept other people. Often, quite simply, we can't get along with other people because we can't get along with ourselves." (Father Jacques Philippe, The Way of Trust and Love, Page 48-49) "I am no longer surprised by anything, I am not sorry to see that I am weakness itself. On the contrary, I glory in it, and I expect to discover new imperfections in myself every day. We are being transformed, not just improved, not just reformed. The scripture says we are being transformed. We are being made new. We are being transformed into his image. In lifestyle and character, we are to be in the image of Jesus. This is why Ephesians 5:1 says we are to “imitate God in everything we do because we are his dear children.”Main Points:1. Without realizing it, every day, we who believe in Jesus are leaving an impression of Him on others. Not with brushes and paint, but with attitudes, actions, and relationships.2. All of us are being transformed. We are not yet complete. We are not like Jesus in every area of our lives. We are in process. We are not who we used to be, and we are not yet who we are going to be.3. If we want to be like Jesus, we must spend time with Him. How else can we discover what He is like? In what other way could we learn his character? There is no other way. Today's Scripture Verses:Ephesians 5:1-2 - “Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 - “We all . . . are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”John 15:4 - “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.”Quick Links:Donate to support this podcastLeave a review on Apple PodcastsGet a copy of The 5 Minute Discipleship JournalConnect on SocialJoin The 5 Minute Discipleship Facebook Group

When we truly grasp the depth of God's love, it changes us. As we abide in that love, fear begins to fade and a new kind of life emerges—one marked by confidence before God and genuine love for others. Real Christianity isn't about earning love, but living securely in the love already given through Christ. If God's perfect love has reached you, how is it transforming the way you live and love today?

What if the secret to a thriving spiritual life isn't trying harder… but staying connected? In John 15, Jesus reveals how His love nourishes our lives and produces fruit that lasts. In John 15, Jesus gives one of the most powerful pictures of the Christian life. He describes Himself as the vine and His followers as branches. Just as branches receive life and nourishment from the vine, believers must remain connected to Jesus in order to thrive. In this sermon from Covenant Church Doylestown, Tim Geiger explores what it means to abide in Christ and how God shapes our lives to bear spiritual fruit. In this message you'll learn: • What Jesus meant by “I am the true vine” • Why God sometimes prunes His people • How abiding in Christ produces joy and love • What real spiritual fruit looks like • Why Christian community is essential for growth Jesus' invitation is simple but life-changing: remain in Him.

CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO to this Guided Prayer on Vimeo (no ads)CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO on YouTube (with ads)In this ABIDE prayer, we enter the raw and honest story of Job—a faithful servant who trusted God even when everything familiar was taken away. Job reminds us that true faith is not the absence of questions, doubt, or pain, but the courage to remain with God in the midst of them. When suffering feels unfair, when prayers seem unanswered, and when God feels silent, this prayer invites us to stay rooted in trust and surrender. As we pray together, we place our burdens before the God who sees the whole story, who is present even in silence, and who remains faithful through every chapter of our lives. May this prayer strengthen your trust and renew your hope in the God who never lets go.

Between family, work, ministry, responsibilities, and the everyday demands of life, it's easy to slip into striving rather than resting in God. In today's episode with Scout Parker, we talk about what it truly means to abide in God—not just as a spiritual concept, but as a daily practice that sustains us.Jesus reminds us in John 15 that He is the vine and we are the branches. Our strength, wisdom, and fruitfulness don't come from doing more—they come from staying connected to Him. When we try to manage life on our own, exhaustion follows. But when we remain rooted in God, He provides the help, grace, and guidance we need for every season.Abiding in God allows us to navigate busy seasons, carry heavy responsibilities, and still live with peace and purpose. God never intended for us to do life alone. His presence is not just for Sunday mornings—it's the source that sustains us in the middle of everyday in life.Congratulations to Cassadie Waits Smith and Karlie Dalton, the winners of our giveaway for the book Smooth Sailing written by the Robinettes! If you'd like to order your own copy, click the link below:https://a.co/d/02BKsu1i
A Frank Sinatra hit song, a COVID-era mask callback, and a brutally smelly airplane converge into one uncomfortable truth: spiritual independence sounds great…until it doesn't. The guys center on John 15 and the difference between staying connected to the source of life and slowly drifting into spiritual decay. Along the way, they land on two words they argue may be the most important in all of Scripture and figure out how to become best friends with Jesus.
