A committee has been meeting at MUN for almost a year, to discuss the inclusion of the ode to Newfoundland in convocation ceremonies. Now, people are complaining that it's taking too much time, when there are bigger fish to fry. The CBC's Abby Cole brought us that story.

Pendant ce temps, la situation sanitaire continue de se dégrader. Les hôpitaux ferment les uns après les autres, les déplacements massifs et la dégradation des conditions de vie rendent chaque jour plus difficile les soins. Les médecins interrogés par l'agence « craignent une explosion de maladies chroniques » mais aussi la propagation de maladies hautement contagieuses « comme la tuberculose qui pourrait prendre une proportion épidémique », selon le média qui a interrogé plusieurs soignants. Dans le chaos, la justice tente de se frayer un chemin. Trois membres du Conseil Présidentiel de Transition Louis Gérald Gilles, Emmanuel Vertilaire et Smith Augustin sont convoqués par le juge d'instruction Benjamin Felismé dans le cadre de l'affaire de corruption à la BNC (Banque nationale de crédit). Ils sont appelés « à des dates différentes de ce mois de décembre », nous apprend le journal le Nouvelliste qui a parlé à des sources judiciaires anonymes. Convocation devant le juge d'instruction. Au sein même du parti démocrate, on comprend la décision sur le plan personnel mais on s'inquiète des conséquences rapporte le Washington post. Le journal a donné la parole à plusieurs élus du camp présidentiel. pour certains, il s'agit d'un « usage abusif du pouvoir » pour d'autres un « précédent regrettable » qui « pourrait saper la confiance dans le système judiciaire tout en fournissant des munitions au président élu Donald Trump pour remanier ce système judiciaire ». Tout au long de son mandat, Joe Biden avait repoussé l'idée de gracier son propre fils, mais « il croit aussi que son fils a été politiquement ciblé et c'est pourquoi il a pris cette décision » rétorque la porte-parole de la Maison Blanche Karine Jean-Pierre, citée dans The Hill. Trop de césariennes en Bolivie ?  En Bolivie, près d'un bébé sur deux naît aujourd'hui par césarienne [intervention chirurgicale pour extraire le nourrisson, ndlr]. The past week Father Steven spent 4 days on a convocation of the priests of the Diocese of Gary.    During these convocations Priests of the diocese come together.These convocations occur approximately every 2 years.    One of the greatest blessings of these gatherings is the confraternity among brother priests.    The group celebrated mass and prayed together during the gathering.   In addition presentations were made by outside speakers.     One of the outside speakers was a chaplain from Fr. Steven's college parish at Indiana University.Next month, Fr. Steven will be visiting his Indiana University parish where he has been invited to give a talk whose topic is "Things I wish I knew when I was in College."
