Jamie Mulvaney sits down with Worship Pastor and Youth Pastor, Dwaine, to reflect on the opening message of the Encounters with Jesus series. Beginning with Jesus turning water into wine at the wedding in Cana, they explore what it means to come to Jesus honestly with our need, our emptiness, and the places where the wine has run dry. Dwaine shares why this passage matters so deeply to him, and Jamie unpacks some of what did not make it into Sunday's sermon, from Jesus as Creator to the deeper imagery woven through John's Gospel. Together, they discuss why encountering Jesus is not just about learning more information, but being drawn into transformation through the presence, power, and love of God. The conversation also explores worship, vulnerability, obedience, communion, and the simplicity of Mary's words: “Do whatever he tells you.” Jamie and Dwaine reflect on how Jesus meets us in our lack, fills what is empty, and offers more than enough, not just as the provider of the gift, but as the gift Himself. Dwaine also speaks personally about finding Jesus in grief, suffering, and the hardest places of life. Through honest reflection, he shares how encountering the love of God changes not only what we believe in our heads, but what we know in our hearts, reminding us that Jesus is near, faithful, and able to bring joy, hope, and transformation even in the valley. This conversation is for: –anyone who feels spiritually dry or aware of their own need –those longing to encounter Jesus beyond information or routine –worshippers, preachers, and leaders wanting to make space for genuine encounter with God –anyone walking through grief, pain, or disappointment and wondering where Jesus is in it Make sure to subscribe, and we'd love to see you on a Sunday soon. https://stmichaelschestersquare.org/ https://www.tiktok.com/@st.michaels.chester.sqr https://www.instagram.com/stmichaelschestersquare

Worship, Teaching, and Ministry are at the heart of Sunday services here at St Mary's, so we thought it was time to take a closer look at each one through a short series. This Sunday we we're joined by our Worship Pastor, Russell, as he explores what it truly means to worship and how we can live lives shaped by worship every day.
Why do we worship? In this FIRE NIGHTS message, we walk through Isaiah 6 and discover what happens when someone truly encounters the holiness of God.Isaiah saw the Lord:high and exalted, holy beyond comprehension, filling the temple with glory. And in that moment:conviction came, grace came, cleansing came, and calling followed. We worship because of who He is.We worship because of what He's done. And true worship always leads to surrender.“Here am I. Send me.”Sundays at 9AM & 11AMRose Church — Winnipeg, Manitoba#Worship #Jesus #HolySpirit #Revival #Christianity

The King Has Come "The Storm That Reveals The Savior" (Matthew 14:22-33) Jesus did not send the disciples into the storm by accident. He sent them on purpose, and He knew exactly what they would find there. In this sermon from Matthew 14:22-33, Ryan Flint, Worship Pastor at McGregor Baptist Church, traces the disciples from the shoreline crowd still buzzing after the feeding of the five thousand, out onto the dark water, and into a fear they could not manage on their own. Through Peter's bold step out of the boat and his slow, terrifying sink beneath the waves, we see the central truth of the passage clearly: faith thrives and fear fades when we fix our eyes on Jesus. The storm was not evidence that Christ had abandoned them. It was the very place He revealed Himself most fully. Listeners walk away with this: the trials you are carrying are not interruptions to God's work in your life. They are invitations to trust Him more clearly, see Him more fully, and worship Him in a way the calm shore never could have produced. What do you do when you know God is faithful but your circumstances are screaming something different? In this Beyond the Notes episode, Ryan Flint, Worship Pastor at McGregor Baptist Church, explores the concept of gospel amnesia: the very human pattern of forgetting what we know to be true about God the moment suffering gets loud. Drawing from Matthew 14, the Psalms, and the Israelites' journey through the wilderness, Ryan explains why fear narrows our vision and how it causes us to interpret God through our storms instead of interpreting our storms through God. Ryan walks through five practical anchors for fighting back: staying in God's Word, staying connected to the church, worshiping regularly, remembering what God has done before, and preaching gospel truth to yourself every day. Whether you are in a hard season or simply want to be more ready for the next one, this episode gives you a clear and honest framework for keeping the gospel close when life gets loud. True worship begins when we realize that Jesus already knows everything about us — every failure, every wound, every hidden struggle — and still chooses to come near. Just like the woman at the well, we often arrive empty, searching for answers, carrying pain and questions. But Jesus meets us with truth, grace, and living water that satisfies the soul. Worship is more than a song or a moment; it's our spirit responding to the truth of who He is and the love He freely gives. Today, may our hearts be awakened again to become true worshipers, pouring our love back to the One who first loved us.

What looks like waste to some can be true worship in the eyes of Jesus. In this message, we look at the powerful moment when Mary pours out expensive perfume on Jesus—an act others criticized, but Jesus honored.Bible Verses:Matthew 26:6-13John 12:2-7James 1:14-152 Samuel 24:24Acts 20:242 Corinthians 2:15Links:calvarymd.comcalvarymd.com/givefacebook.com/CalvaryFrederick
The prophet Joel calls us to "rend our hearts" (Joel 2:12-13 NIV). Normally this term applies to cloth that has been torn. Joel calling us to rend our hearts sounds violent, and like something that could be painful. But we should examine our hearts - as we make our way towards the cross of Good Friday. Joel's call is a call to repentance and to remember Whose we are, and what we're actually supposed to be up to.
Preaching Point: We must confront and eliminate all forms of counterfeit worship and strive to establish true worship that pleases God.Text: Matthew 21:12-13 (ESV) 12 And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. 13 He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you make it a den of robbers.”

Worship is one of the most central practices of the Christian faith, yet it is often misunderstood or reduced to a moment, place, or a style of music. In this message, we turn to Jesus' conversation with the Samaritan woman in John 4, where He redefines what true worship really is. Rather than focusing on geography, tradition, or performance, Jesus reveals that worship flows from knowing who God is, responding to what He has done, and allowing that response to shape how we live. Our teaching today invites us to see worship not as something we simply do on occasion, but as a way of life formed by truth, gratitude, and obedience before God. They discuss how to disciple a team of 30 people when you can only really pour into 5 or 6, why production should enhance worship without becoming the focus, and why planning doesn't limit the Holy Spirit - it actually creates space for him to move. Sean also shares why he has no desire to return to vocational ministry anytime soon, the "make it better" trap that burns out worship pastors, and the one simple rule that will save your sanity: Sundays are for service, not evaluation. In This Episode Discipleship at scale - You can't disciple 30 people on your own, so here's how to train disciples to be disciplers and create a sustainable leadership structure How production supports worship - Why the pendulum is swinging away from production-heavy worship, and how to let production enhance rather than distract Planning and the Holy Spirit - Why "I just want to be led by the Spirit" is a cop-out, and how good planning actually creates space for spontaneity The biggest pitfall - Why not keeping the main thing the main thing is the fastest way to burn out your team and lose sight of why you're actually there Practical tips for sustainability - Why Sundays are for service not evaluation, how to build yearly rhythms that include rest, and when to do acoustic sets to reset expectations Timestamps 00:00 - How to Disciple Your Team When You're Always On Stage 04:42 - How Production Supports Worship Without Becoming the Focus 09:53 - Systems and Planning: The Holy Spirit Shows Up on Monday Too 16:03 - The Biggest Pitfall: Not Keeping the Main Thing the Main Thing 19:10 - The "Make It Better" Trap and How to Avoid Burnout 23:23 - Practical Tips: Sundays Are for Service, Not Evaluation Key Quotes "You can't lead 30 people on your own.
