ACROSS started off as a bi-weekly conversation with a friend (or a friend of a friend) across the letter 'C'. Coping, comforting, connecting, all that stuff that is especially important now, during these scary C-times.** The conversation is completely open, no script, just a flow. Except, both partners bring 2 things along: a local/regional news, something they thought was noteworthy and that the other person would probably never hear about in their evening news. And the second 'souvenir' is a presentation of a local artist or an expression form that they want to share and support. ACROSS is not a journalistic conversation, this won’t be about reporting facts. It's about experience and exchange from different personal perspectives and in the best case this will mean something to someone or even proves helpful to get through this time. ** across is in hiatus, because life came back and work and duty. As soon as the systems pause again, the conversation will continue. In the meantime, it will be told in pictures on instagram: @across_2020

ACROSS wanted to hear from those who had little time in the recent C-weeks and months. Because they were busy caring for their kid or kids, for their parents or partners or friends - while still making a living. Or making a survival. Not everyone has work after all or a steady job… We made a call for calls, and friends and also friends of friends picked up their phones and left a message. So in this episode, we hear a whole bunch of voices talking about their different (and similar) experiences: Esther, Mirjam, Tanja, Sander, Etoile, Inga and Lamar* There's also some thoughts on the corelations of the Covid Pandemic and the global protests against racism. Lastly, more than one artist recommendation in this episode. We have literature, photography, music, painting - all in the context of the Black Lives Matter movement. The hugest recommendation is to care and to stay safe. * Esther - 3'50 Mirjam - 8'00 Tanja - 9'40 Sander - 14'00 Song by Etoile Marley: Tension and Pride Etoile - 21'30 Inga - 29'00 Lamar - 38'55 recommendations 42'00 til end

Wow - Fab and I havn't spoken in a decade. There's talk about work and C, city and nature, over- and undertourism, how we interact in public space. Then there is wine, talk of pott, philosophy, life, death, music and conspiracy theories. There's singing! Fab needs to be sleeping in for three days. We speak about how the 8th of May is commemorated, the day of liberation from the NS regime. Heavens, there is so much in this, even peripheral talk about mise and spiders. And Heidi. And more. Music and a message from Harare. Tune in. Everything else in on instagram.com/across_2020/

Alessandro and I talk about a lot of C's: cinema, country & city, climate, but also design and fashion, bike lanes and the future of traffic. We do enjoy how nice and quiet it is outside. And we play Citta online (aka Stadt, Land, Fluss - aka City, Country, River). We do philosophize a little and listen to music. Of course there's some cursing. After all, it's about life in the time of C. Everything else in on instagram.com/across_2020/
