Sander Hicks: Slingshot to the Juggernaut: Total Resistance to the Death Machine Means Complete Love of the TruthIn the ten years since 9/11, a grassroots truth movement has sprung up that unites the best elements of the right and left. The call to resist the secrecy, imperialism, and the manipulation of the elite has been heard by a wide spectrum of people, across religious and political lines. This is a revolutionary moment that has lacked a clarifying manifesto.Until now.Pulling from his personal confrontations with the FBI, Rudolph Giuliani, Eliot Spitzer, and Dick Cheney, activist, maverick, and investigative reporter Sander Hicks reaches for a broader understanding of who was behind the 9/11 attacks. He reports the mysterious murder of Dr. David M. Graham, a Shreveport dentist who met two of the 9/11 hijackers but was then harassed by the FBI and poisoned. Scientific evidence leads him to take a hard, critical stance against Bush, Cheney, and the 9/11 “Official Story.”Weaving evidence with anecdote, Slingshot to the Juggernaut is an inspiring ride into the 9/11 cover-up and the revolutionary possibilities it inadvertently created. Provocative and unyielding, Hicks examines the evidence, draws conclusions, and offers a vision for the future of the United States.https://amzn.to/4lEJSS5Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.
Sean is joined by identity expert Sander Berkouwer to explore the evolving landscape of enterprise authentication. Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), first introduced with Windows Server 2003, continues to support many organizations with single sign-on. However, its usage is steadily declining as cloud-native solutions take center stage. Sean and Sander unpack the reasons behind this shift, the challenges of legacy infrastructure, and the practical steps organizations can take to migrate from AD FS to Microsoft Entra ID. Whether you're planning a transition or just curious about the future of identity management, this conversation offers valuable insights and actionable guidance.

GEN-Z is in the building. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Today's episode is the recording of our recent panel Ctrl, Alt, Delusion: Resetting Reality in the Manosphere, live at SXSW London, in partnership with Sage & Jester. Sage & Jester is an impact-led arts production company that exposes manipulation and misinformation. At Sage & Jester, entertainment sparks critical thinking. Their work blends wisdom and wit to entertain, enlighten, and help you harness your internal BS detector. They're not just storytellers, they are catalysts for a more informed, more engaged society. For this panel, host Sophia Smith Galer was joined by journalist Ash Sarkar, Cambridge University social psychologist Sander van der Linden and documentary filmmaker Matt Shea to shed light on how influencer culture weaponises masculinity, transforming isolation and insecurity into a misinformation powerhouse. Exploring how key figures such as the infamous Tate brothers thrive on grievance and viral distortions, the panel discussed the specifics of misinformation in the manosphere, and how to ‘inoculate' against these falsehoods. Professor Sander van der Linden's fascination with misinformation traces back to his own family's scars under Nazism, a regime that perfected propaganda so insidious it seeped invisibly into everyday life. In his award-winning book Foolproof, van der Linden argues that misinformation is a psychological virus, spreading through minds the way a biological virus hijacks cells. From Third Reich leaflets to modern algorithms, the tools have evolved, but the core infection remains the same: exploiting our mental shortcuts and illusions of truth. As the Capitol riots show, unchecked lies can kill. Van der Linden's mission is urgent: to build psychological vaccines that inoculate society from misinformation before deepfakes, AI, and data-hungry platforms unleash the next generation of invisible propaganda and push us past the point of no return. Guest bio: Professor Sander van der Linden is a Cambridge social psychologist and award-winning author of Foolproof. He pioneered the concept of “psychological vaccines” against misinformation, advises governments and tech companies worldwide, and his research has shaped global strategies to combat fake news, conspiracy theories, and the growing threat of deepfakes. Van der Linden is the Professor of Social Psychology in Society in the Department of Psychology at the University of Cambridge and Director of the Cambridge Social Decision-Making Lab. Women Who Lead 048: Betsy Cameron, Jeana Sander, Talia Tiffany | Bold Catalysts Welcome back to this monthly series of Women Who Lead. In this episode, I'm sitting down with three lovely ladies in the real estate industry: Betsy Cameron, President of Ebby Holiday Companies; Gina Sander, Vice President and Regional Manager at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties; and Tallie Tiffany, Director of Legal Operations at HomeServices of America. We dive into the importance of legacy, bold decision-making, and the mindset shifts required to lead effectively during transformative times. Meet the Leaders Betsy Cameron, President, Ebby Halliday Companies, betsycameron@ebby.com Jeana Sander, Vice President & Vice President & Regional Manager, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, JeanaSander@bhhscal.com Talia Tiffany, Director of Legal Operations, HomeServices of America, TaliaTiffany@homeservices.com Humble Beginnings in Real Estate Betsy Cameron: Raised in a real estate family, Betsy's journey led her from teaching special education to becoming an executive in the real estate industry. She credits her mother's influence, a foundation in service, and embracing both legacy and innovation as key leadership drivers. Gina Sander: Transitioning from commercial to residential real estate, Gina found a passion for guiding clients through major decisions. Her career saw acceleration through multiple leadership invites, leading to her overseeing 700 California agents with a focus on values, integrity, and authentic connection. Tallie Tiffany: With a strong background in law and real estate from a young age, Tallie blends legal expertise with practical business insights. She shares the importance of mentorship, sponsorship, and “lifting as you climb,” especially through peer collaboration. Navigating Courageous Decisions Each leader shares their moments that required boldness—whether it was Betsy making the leap after 16 years at another brokerage, Gina uprooting her life to take a career leap, or Tallie leaving a secure legal job for the uncertainties of a commission-based role. At the heart: integrity, compassion, and staying true to core values, even when change is uncomfortable. Building Legacy and Fostering Inclusion We delve into how these women honor the legacies of their predecessors while innovating for the future. All three emphasize creating space at the table for women, elevating colleagues, and developing skills through both mentorship and sponsorship. They also discuss the importance of inclusivity and support networks within and beyond their organizations. Real Estate and Tech: Meeting Today's Challenges Facing market challenges like affordability, inventory shortages, and shifting client expectations, the ladies highlight the critical role of education, data, and new technology tools, including AI and automated marketing solutions. They stress adaptability and continuous learning as essential leadership qualities. Favorite Quotes, Podcasts, and Books Tallie shares that her two favorite podcasts are "Women at Work" by Harvard Business Review and "Good Hang" by Amy Poehler. Betsy shares that she enjoys listening to Simon Sinek the most. Gina loved the book “The Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz and is subscribed to the Daily Stoic. She just recently finished reading “The Obstacle Is the Way” by Ryan Holiday. Also, her favorite quote is by Winston Churchill, “You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.” When you help another woman rise, we all shine.

See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In Shakespeare's time, the actresses were boys—and for the most celebrated of them, fame came early but could end abruptly with a voice change. In this episode, author Nicole Galland joins us to talk about the world of boy players, young apprentices who performed women's roles onstage in England before 1660. Galland's novel, Boy, follows one of these real-life members of Shakespeare's company, Alexander “Sander Cooke,” and his fictional best friend, Joan, a fiercely curious young woman who disguises herself as a boy to pursue knowledge. Drawing inspiration from Shakespeare's cross-dressing heroines, Galland explores the freedoms and risks of reinventing gender roles in Elizabethan England. Figures like Francis Bacon appear in the novel as part of the broader web of power and political intrigue that shapes Joan and Sander's world. Through these connections, Galland brings Shakespeare's theatrical world to life and the people navigating its stage. Nicole Galland is the author of the historical novels I, Iago; Godiva; Crossed; Revenge of the Rose; and The Fool's Tale; as well as the contemporary romantic comedies On the Same Page and Stepdog, and the New York Times bestselling near-future thriller The Rise and Fall of D.O.D.O. Altina Schinasi is known as the inventor of cat-eye glasses, but she was also an artist, a documentarian, and an activist. And she was very frank about her own faults and bad decisions.
