Sleeping fewer than seven hours per night is strongly linked to a shorter lifespan, even when factors like diet, exercise, income, and access to health care are taken into account Large-scale U.S. data shows sleep loss predicts reduced life expectancy more reliably than many habits people focus on daily, including physical inactivity and obesity Chronic short sleep keeps your heart, immune system, and brain under constant strain, preventing the nightly repair work your body relies on to stay resilient over time Sleep pressure builds when your cells fail to produce energy efficiently, leading to toxic byproducts that force your brain into deeper fatigue and stronger sleep demand Improving sleep is one of the most practical and controllable ways to support long-term health, because nightly sleep habits respond directly to changes in light exposure, environment, and daily timing

Some of our most popular sounds include a river, flowing creek, babbling brook, gentle waves on a lake, and a bamboo fountain. Rain also creates a natural white noise. Infused with the relaxing quality of nature and the sound-masking properties of white noise, listening to rain is an ideal way to switch off all the stressful things life brings and to de-stress. Some of our most popular sounds are rain on an umbrella, hailstorms, hard rain, soft rain, gentle rain, wind and rain, rain on a car.White noise helps babies and children to get a better and deeper night's sleep. This is because external sounds are masked by the noise. With white noise in the background, your child will not hear annoying cars driving by or dogs barking in bed. This allows your little one to sleep better. And it also saves you as a parent a lot of hours!Pink noise is more common in nature than you might expect. It can be compared to continuous rainfall or wind. In addition to white noise, pink noise is also increasing in popularity, especially in business environments. Because it can increase productivity, concentration and creativity.Brown noise can be compared to waves of the sea, a river current, strong winds or the sound of thunder during a storm. Like pink noise, brown noise is very similar to white noise. However, the frequencies have been lowered even further and a lot more concentrated. This gives it a rougher/coarse tone than pink noise. It sounds a bit deeper and a bit bass-like. The benefits of brown noise are the same as the other types of noise. It provides relaxation, increased focus and improved deep sleep.DISCLAIMER: Be aware that loud noises can damage your hearing. Ben Dhiman has one of the best names in the sport, and he actually earned it. We talk nicknames, alter egos, and the wild cat energy he taps into when racing, then rewind to the thru hiking years that shaped his brain, his grit, and his need to keep pushing the edge. From the AT and CDT to the Hayduke and a full-on Himalayan mission in Nepal, Ben explains why big adventures can be both glorious and miserable, and why thru hiking can “ruin you” in the best and worst ways. Then we follow the pivot into trail running, pacing Hardrock almost by accident, showing up to races undertrained on hiking fitness and stubborn confidence, and eventually forcing the door down in Europe the old-school way, by racing hard and winning. Infused with the relaxing quality of nature and the sound-masking properties of white noise, listening to running water is an ideal way to turn off all the stressful things life brings, and to de-stress. If you can't carry on a conversation without raising your voice while playing one of our spheres, the sound may be too loud for your ears. Do not place the speakers directly next to a baby's ears. If you have trouble hearing or ringing in your ears, stop listening to the white noise immediately and see an audiologist or your doctor. The sounds provided by ASMR Sleep Recordings are for entertainment purposes only and are not a treatment for sleep disorders or tinnitus. Consult your doctor if you regularly have severe sleeping problems, experience fitful/restless sleep or feel tired during the day.ASMR Sleep Recordings is the white noise and nature sounds podcast to help you sleep, study or soothe a baby. Cats can sleep anywhere and look completely at peace… meanwhile I'm over here overthinking everything. Maybe there's something to learn there about contentment.
Sleeping fewer than seven hours a night shortens lifespan more than poor diet, lack of exercise, or weak social ties, making sleep one of the strongest predictors of long-term survival Short sleep accelerates aging by disrupting cellular repair, hormone balance, and energy production, even in people who eat well and stay physically active Most adults are not metabolically resilient enough to function on limited sleep, which means chronic sleep loss quietly compounds damage year after year Small, consistent sleep deficits add up over time, increasing vulnerability to disease and reducing your body's ability to recover from stress Restoring sleep quality by stabilizing light exposure, circadian timing, and nightly routines gives your body the conditions it needs to repair itself and extend health span
When your partner blames your snoring for everything. Dearest Not Doctors, Love the pod, need your help. Here's the deal: I snore and I think it's ruining my marriage? I've done a sleep study and I don't have any medical issues like sleep apnea, so using a CPAP machine is off the table. Sleeping in a separate bedroom is also not an option because we can't afford another bedroom. Sleeping on the couch isn't either, because apparently I snore loud enough that it wakes her up in the other room. My partner wakes up tired every day and lately my snoring gets blamed for anything that goes wrong. If she forgets a task at work? Misses an exit on the highway while driving? It's all because of my snoring. She tried wearing ear plugs, but they fall out. I've snored my entire life, so my partner's complaints feel like an attack on something I can't change, like my eye color or my voice. It really bums me out. I am well rested, so I feel super guilty about that too. I want her to feel good and be happy. I want to feel good and be happy. What should I do? I know this is a tough one, so bad answers are welcome. At least laughing about my situation might be nice. In this episode, Tommy V and Mikey chat with Travis Omilian from Banquets about the band's journey from a hiatus to a revival, the challenges of balancing a teaching career with music, and the impact of streaming on music consumption. They discuss the nostalgia for the album era, the role of college radio in music discovery, and the importance of collaborations and splits in building connections within the music community. The conversation also touches on the future of Banquets and the themes explored in their new music.Power chords and crashing boards. Mikey, Tom, and Justin talk music, hockey, and anything else that gets in their way. Tom and Mikey are lifelong friends that grew up on Long Island during the glory days of alternative music where our local bands were As Tall As Lions, Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Bayside, The Sleeping, Envy on the Coast, you get the point. We spent many nights together at The Downtown, catching any pop-punk, indie, hardcore, or emo band that came through. This was not a phase, Mom! Fast forward 20 years and we are still just as passionate about the scene as we were during our girl jeans and youth XL band tees days. Tom and Mikey are diehard New York Islanders fans, but Justin (Bolts fan) likes to remind us that we are #notanislespodcast. As we got older we realized we can like more than one thing and running beside our love for music has always been our love for hockey. We have realized we are not alone in this thinking, actually there are many of us that love these two things! This podcast explores just how connected they are!NEW EPISODE EVERY TUESDAY!
