He tries to make a wager on it. Will it eventually be acceptable for people to get high to seek God? And Joey’s brother is no longer host of Pastor With No Answers. Thanks, BC Club!
We reflect a bit on our past episodes, Toby is upset Joey didn’t show HIM his wiener and what not to say to parents who lost a child.
We are on the road and had some time to pull out the recorder while hanging on the tour bus before we go onstage.
If Toby ever stops believing, he’s going to get into the Mega-Church market. The three discuss a bit why they believe in God, Joey used to believe that demons can come out of CDs and why people not to stop saying “God told me so.”
Matt helps us understand where science is at with brain transplants and what the challenges are, benefits would be. Joey comes up with some crazy, morbid scenarios to ask simple questions. The three marvel at the unknown of our current existence and Toby is devastated to even think about eternity.
Some of you guys sent Joey clips of either cutting up or asking questions, and Joey responds! Check it out to see what he has to say.
Toby and Joey reflect on the passing of Jenny Carter and the various thoughts and reflections that come to mind when death hits so close to home.
Matt, Toby and Joey use this whole episode to dissect what could be consistently wrong with the church on a Sunday to Sunday basis. If these guys are actually dialed in to reality, it a pretty sobering predicament. You’ve been warned.
Toby is sick, Matt hasn’t been sick since 2008 when he had to play an Emery show sitting down, Joey’s wife is up tight about something stupid, and how Trump haters may be erring in their communication of grievances.
Joey reflects on where he’s come and what he’s processing with his past legalistic baggage, Matt and Toby give him some advice, the three talk parenting, the “dangers” of college and some older girl wants to hang out with Joey’s kids.
Part 2 of the Best of 2016, just for you guys!
Matt explains why we're the same as child molesters. Should you feel a sense of responsibility for how people take you? You would be mortified and horrified if you could listen to individual thoughts of any person. So should you explore thoughts out loud?
How Toby’s dad would handle the lottery, wealth, theology correctors. American culture, eating disorders, and consumerism.
BadChristian is always spear-heading a departure from fundamentalism even though some of our people have departed from faith altogether. The guys dive DEEP into their personal faith and talk about whether they should do this more.
Can’t say the same about restaurant quality and Matt, Toby and Joey’s Christmas presents for their kids.
Was all the work worth it and how Joey was the life of the party.
Hey, clubbers. Joey here. Once again, I steal the show and carry the conversation. We discuss whether or not the emotional investment in a football season is worth the pain it can bring, I pick apart Matt and Toby’s flaws, and Toby expresses his angst when Joey won’t share with him people’s confidentiality.
Matt’s dog is going to die and this forces the fellas to think deeply about life, loss, and the inability to eat cold pizza in the morning. And how did Joey bring slavery into this discussion anyway? Is every suicide the result of irrational thinking or can you make an informed logical decision to end it all? You’re welcome BC Clubbers!
Matt, Toby, and Joey talk about their privilege and agree that a woman president would pretty much kick ass. Matt MacDonald brings his Seattle Northwest charm to balance things out.
God Made Us For Multiple Sex Partners? Joey has a hard time articulating his thoughts on sex drive and the fellas are sick & tired of grammar nazis.
We recorded this during the election, and really tried to get past that to talk about other things. We get an update on everyone's church situations and how Toby's wife made a pie for a transgender, and Matt's daughter goes to a Sunday school taught by a lesbian. If Joey didn't work for a church anymore, would he still go?
Yes this is episode 3, the the 2nd went into the main feed last week just to demonstrate it to the public and ask them to join the club, and it worked. So be sure to welcome the new members. I can't remember what we talked about in this episode, but I remember enjoying it. In the future I will task Joey with the descriptions for these episodes. Hope you are enjoying them as we figure it out.
Welcome to the all-new club-member-only weekly podcast! Thank you all for being a part of the club, and we hope you enjoy this new membership model. Feedback is welcomed! We're not sure what the format of this will be yet, I'm sure it will evolve, but here is a starting place. Have fun with the new forum, and thanks in advance for not sharing this with people outside of the club. Forum: http://bcclubhouse.com/
