Jimbo Hart is the bass player for Jason Isbell's 400 Unit. Jimbo never set out to be a rock star but preferred to become "The guy hanging out in the shadows bringing the house down" We cover a ton of ground in our 30-minute conversation but the core of it revolves around putting your head down and focusing on one thing and letting it become a governing force. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts and Jimbo's bass is one of those parts. Enjoy! Links: Instagram: @thejimbohart Credits: Music by: Monolord

    Oliver Percovich | Skateistan

Oliver Percovich is the founder of a non-profit organization called Skateistan. Skateistan uses skateboarding and education for youth empowerment. Since 2007 Ollie has been using his skateboard to break down social, economic, racial, and gender barriers in Afghanistan, Cambodia & South Africa. I first heard about Ollie and his cause while listening to an episode of Jamie Thomas's podcast Thrill of it All. It wasn't the fact that Ollie had created an award-winning NGO that captured my attention but rather his persistence to pursue what many would say is impossible. So I tracked him down to hear the account first hand and ask a few hard questions.

    Rhett Noland | Dark Nights

The single "Let You Down" from hip-hop artist NF has received over 531 Million plays on Spotify, but the song reaches new heights when performed live with the addition of Rhett Noland. Never heard of him? Rhett Noland is the touring drummer for NF and has been playing the drums since he was four years old. Rhett has a dynamic sound that surpasses any single genre of music. Whether he is performing by himself in a storage garage or on a stage for thousands of fans, he does it because he has an undying passion for the music. I had the rare privilege to meet up with Rhett backstage after a recent show in Pittsburgh. It's crazy how a direct message can turn into a real connection with a like-minded human. From sobriety to social media this conversation does not disappoint. Takeaways: - Being fully prepared when an opportunity presents itself is key - Working on yourself as a person is more important than talent - Feeling pain may be a necessary part of the process Links: Website: http://www.rhettnoland.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rhettnoland/

    Paul Rodriguez | Fail Forward

Last Thursday my persistent efforts in sending direct messages to Mr. Rodriguez's IG account finally paid off when he responded with: "I can do today around 4 pm if that works for you." And when Paul Rodriguez's (AKA Prod) calls, you answer. In this case, I hit record even though my 19-month-old son was playing in the same room creating a less than ideal recording environment. I've been following Rodriguez's career ever since he hit my radar around 2003, in fact, I'm wearing a pair of his signature Nike shoes today as I write this. Aside from Paul's accomplishments in the skateboarding world, he is a super passionate person with a motivating mindset. I even started questioning the size of my dreams mid-conversation. Some of the big takeaways: Paul's view of Hard Work Vs. Talent JayZ Vs. Nas Prod gives an A+ to Ishod and Joslin for their beastly work ethic Enjoy! Kevin Sousa | Superior Motors

Initially, I was looking for someone with a good ole blue-collar "No one ever gave me nothin" come up story and then... I came across Kevin Sousa. I knew he was a well-known chef in my hometown and had been featured in the New York Times and Food and Wine magazine but beyond that, I didn't know much about him as a person. Doing my research, I inevitably came across everything you need to know about his career, but as I learned more about his mentality and vision, I become far more interested in Kevin, the human than Kevin, the chef. In our conversation, we talked about his most dificult moment in business, how he embraces the process, as well as the hard-working mindset he is cultivating at Superior Motors. Oh and just a little sidenote Superior Motors just made the list of Time magazines "World's Greatest Places" to experience in 2018.
