Have you ever bought something — a class, a program, a tool — full of hope… Only to feel regret, resentment, or disillusionment when it didn't work the way you thought it would? You're not alone. In this episode, Dara explores what's really going on when we feel let down by something we've invested in — and how those emotions are often rooted in a misunderstanding of what we expected from ourselves. From quilting tools to coaching programs, from parenting regrets to free-motion quilting frustration, Dara walks you through a powerful reframing: Why resentment is a sign of unmet expectations How to label your emotions honestly so you can move through them The sneaky way perfectionism and victimhood can keep you stuck What Elizabeth Gilbert, chocolate chip cookies, and Christmas planning all have in common Why your emotional weight must be addressed before lasting physical change can happen If you want to stop abandoning yourself every time something feels hard — this episode will help you turn pain into perspective, and regret into power. Life is full of letdowns. It can be hard to recover and bounce back from some of our toughest falls and failures. There are so many factors that influence how quickly any of us will be able to get back up. No matter how great the letdown and how difficult the recovery, could it be possible to look up immediately? Is there a way to find the strength and faith to look up to God, even when we're still navigating the fallout? In this message, we wrestle with life's greatest letdowns with the story of Joseph as our guide. We seek out the Goodness and Sovereignty of God which persists in spite of our struggles. Listen and discover how we can find the faith to always look up to Heaven's Light and be lifted up by God's own hand.
Have you ever felt frustrated with your teen? (Or maybe I should be saying, who hasn't?!) As moms of teens and almost empty nesters, we naturally carry expectations about how our kids should act — and most of the time, those expectations are perfectly reasonable. We want them to show appreciation, to put in effort, to connect with us. But the reality is, teens don't always meet those expectations. And when that happens, we're left feeling frustrated, anxious, and even resentful. In this episode, I'm talking about what I call “invisible contracts.” These aren't mistakes you're making as a mom — they're the hidden expectations that we all carry, often without realizing it, that shape how we experience motherhood at this stage. You'll learn how to recognize them, why they feel so painful when they're not met, and how to shift your mindset so you can reduce anxiety, stop overthinking, and create more peace and connection with your teen. If you're a mom who's ready to feel more connected, confident, and at peace — and to find purpose beyond motherhood as you step into the empty nest years — this episode will show you what's possible.

The Giants opened their season with a disappointing loss in Washington. Both Carl Banks and Bob Papa highlighted a feeling of déjà vu; this game felt eerily similar to struggles from last year. The Giants' offense never found a consistent rhythm, and issues from the preseason, especially struggles on the offensive line, proved costly, allowing significant pressure on new QB Russell Wilson and making it difficult to establish the run. There was a heavy emphasis on getting the ball to rookie Malik Nabers, but he couldn't capitalize on a couple of key opportunities, dropping passes that could've changed the momentum. 00:00:00 Giants season opener disappointment, team energy 00:01:00 Malik Nabers issues 00:05:10 Big plays, difference makers, red zone/goal line issues 00:10:30 Dan Quinn's defensive familiarity/problems for Giants 00:13:20 Interior O-Line struggles, running game, pressure on Russell Wilson 00:15:25 Offensive line needs to improve, group continuity 00:19:05 Giants defense: Shane Bowen's plan, missed opportunities, run defense 00:20:15 Poor second down defense, missed tackles/leverage, long conversions allowed 00:25:20 Zone coverage technique/rerouting WRs, coverage philosophy 00:30:18 Run defense issues quantified—220 yards given up 00:33:49 Leverage failures, fundamentals review 00:36:23 Upcoming matchup preview: Dallas, what needs to improve 00:37:40 Defensive substitution issues, missed leverage, correcting mistakes 00:38:57 Personnel vs. technique, improvement potential, disrupting receivers 00:43:15 Summary: playing on their terms vs. opponent's terms 00:43:54 Cowboys preview, interior O-Line again a target for opponents
Steven and Ian begin with a cute story about Michael Stipe logging into Bluesky and clarifying commonly misstated lyrics for R.E.M.'s "It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)," the latest stop on the band's world-class old-guy retirement (1:43). They also talk about news that Radiohead is going back on the road for the first time in seven years (8:13).Steven also does a quick Sportscast on the Packers acquiring Micah Parsons, and what this means for the team's Super Bowl chances (13:16). From there, they do an update on the Fantasy Albums Draft, which looks very close (18:33). Then they review the new Big Thief album, and discuss where one of the most acclaimed indie bands of recent years stands now (26:15). After that, they do a "yay or nay" segment on Slipknot (43:36).In Recommendation Corner, Ian talks about post-hardcore band La Dispute and Steven goes for '90s-style country singer Zach Top (47:43).New episodes of Indiecast drop every Friday. Since we can't make our way to Oxford for Thom and Stan's art exhibition, we found the next best thing: an “immersive” exhibit presented by Rolling Stone magazine about rock n roll culture throughout the decades. Luckily Radiohead is featured extensively but was it worth it? What did we learn and did it take us on a journey? How does it compare to the Kid Amnesiac Digital Exhibition? We try to answer these questions with our special guest and immersive experience professional, Andrew Lazarow. He also tells us all about the familiar way he became a Radiohead fan and the shocking amount of times he's seen them live. Let's not forget the newspile, which is full of stories like Thom's “new” tv show theme song, an intriguing Tall Tales coin hunt, Tom Skinner's upcoming jazz record, swirling Radiohead tour rumors, and Sime's favorite song finally getting its due.

In this episode, I open up about the invisible weight of motherhood—the emptiness that comes when you pour yourself out day after day until you feel hollow inside. I share a raw and vulnerable moment of nursing struggles, when my baby girl's cries at the breast left me heartbroken and defeated. When my 4-month-old began screaming during feedings, I felt crushed. I worried it meant something was wrong with my milk—or worse, that I was failing her. What I've since learned is that this is often just a phase: at this age, babies are more aware, more impatient, and sometimes simply overwhelmed. It doesn't mean you're broken, mama. It means your baby is growing. Here's what I've learned—and what so many mamas don't hear often enough: this is a really common stage. Around three to four months, babies become so much more aware of the world. A ceiling fan, a dog barking, even just the sound of someone walking by—suddenly, everything is more interesting than feeding. They get distracted easily, pull off, cry, and it can feel so defeating. In reaching out for help, I found more than just practical advice. My lactation consultant's words carried a depth of wisdom I didn't even realize I needed. This is a story of meltdowns, milk, and the surprising ways we find ourselves being filled back up.

Thanks to an unexpected surge in popularity on TikTok, Radiohead now has its fourth-ever song on the Billboard Hot 100: the morosely gorgeous track “Let Down” from the 1997 album “OK Computer.” “Let Down” never broke through to mainstream attention like Radiohead's “Creep” or “Karma Police,” but it's by no means a deep cut, like the Pavement B-side “Harness Your Hopes” that went viral due to a quirk in Spotify's recommendation algorithm. This Radiohead song is a fan favorite from an album that's considered among the best rock records of all time.
