For years, Nathan's family shared an unspoken understanding about one room in their Indiana home: nobody liked spending time in the living room. Nothing paranormal ever happened there. No apparitions appeared, no voices echoed through the house, and no furniture moved on its own. Yet every member of the family felt the same quiet discomfort whenever they entered the room, as if something unseen was always watching. As a child, Nathan experienced something even stranger. Night after night, he would wake to find two shadowy figures standing near the entrance to the living room. They never approached him, never entered the bedrooms, and never seemed interested in anything except the room itself. Over time, the figures became less frightening and more familiar—until the one night they vanished. What happened next would leave Nathan questioning everything he thought he understood about the house, the shadows, and whether they were the haunting at all—or the only thing keeping something else from stepping out of the darkness.#RealGhostStoriesOnline #GhostStories #Paranormal #ShadowPeople #HauntedHouse #TrueGhostStory #ParanormalActivity #HauntedHallway #CreepyStories #Hauntings #GhostsLove real ghost stories? When we talk about mythic fiction, it's easy to assume mythic stories are created through familiar ingredients: archetypes, symbolism, old myths, epic structure. But I don't think that's where mythic storytelling begins. In this post/podcast, I explore seven practices and mindsets that help writers reconnect with what the lost art of mythmaking--not just borrowing of old symbolic forms, but accessing the deeper creative process from which meaningful stories emerge in the first place. We talk about: • Why mythic stories often feel like they come *through* us rather than *from* us • How dreamzoning and flow states support deeper storytelling • Why "shoulds" can block archetypal imagination • How asking questions opens access to mythic resonance • The deeper shape beneath story structure • Why confronting the shadows matters for writers • How mythic storytelling functions as transformation and initiation Mythic fiction isn't just a genre or an aesthetic. At its deepest level, it is a way of relating to story itself. If you've ever wanted to write stories that feel more alive, more resonant, or more meaningful, but weren't sure how to move beyond technique alone, this conversation offers a practical place to begin. 01:50 What Is Mythic Fiction? 02:34 What Mythic Fiction Is Not 04:07 What Mythic Fiction Is 05:12 The Lost Art of Mythmaking 06:31 Practice #1: Entering the Flow State 08:49 Practice #2: Clear the "Shoulds" That Block Archetypal Imagination 09:58 Practice #3: Ask Questions Instead of Arriving With Answers 11:32 Practice #4: Study the Deeper Shape Beneath Story Structure 12:56 Practice #5: Study the Stories That Create Mythic Resonance 15:07 Practice #6: Be Fearless Enough to Enter the Shadows 17:11 Practice #7: Approach Archetypal Storytelling With Humility and Responsibility 18:16 Learning How to Imagine Better 19:22 Writing Masterclass: Alchemizing Plot, Character, and Theme Read the transcript: https://helpingwritersbecomeauthors.com/how-to-write-mythic-fiction-practices LINKS & RESOURCES Want More? There are some nights that settle into silence… and others that echo long after they've passed. On February 2nd, 1986, the city of Sydney, Australia, was winding down on a warm summer evening. Streets emptied, lights dimmed, and the night quieted. But something went terribly wrong that night—something that would leave a mark on a […] The post Shadows Over Sydney: Anita Cobby appeared first on Tiegrabber.
He had always considered himself more of a skeptic than a believer. Then he and his wife moved into a modest Cape Cod-style home and began noticing small things they couldn't quite explain. Shadows at the edge of their vision. Objects turning up in strange places. Motion lights activating when no one was near them.At first, he treated it all like a puzzle. His wife was less amused. The activity became harder to dismiss when the lights began turning on in sequence, almost as if someone were walking through the house. Then a casual conversation with a neighbor gave the mystery a name—and suddenly, the strange path through the home seemed to make a lot more sense.#RealGhostStories #ParanormalPodcast #GhostStories #HauntedHouse #TrueGhostStory #ParanormalEncounter #MotionLights #GhostChild #UnexplainedMystery #HauntedHomeLove real ghost stories? Peace gets talked about as if it is a destination we can spot from the front line, but the closer we look, the more it feels like a mirage. Ukraine's mid-range strikes and tactical gains tempt commentators into declaring a decisive shift, and then into assuming peace is near. Real progress matters, but overconfident stories can set the public up for disappointment and push policymakers towards shortcuts. I take an article by British ex-diplomat Ian Proud on what he thinks a peace would require - I agree with many of his diagnoses, but not with a lot of his prescriptions - as a starting point to explore the different moving parts within any peace process. I don't end up feeling especially optimistic, although Russia could still just stop fighting at any time. The Proud article, by the way, is here: https://responsiblestatecraft.org/ukraine-russia-europe-talks/The podcast's corporate partner and sponsor is Conducttr, which provides software for innovative and immersive crisis exercises in hybrid warfare, counter-terrorism, civil affairs and similar situations. You can also follow my blog, In Moscow's Shadows, and become one of the podcast's supporting Patrons and gain question-asking rights and access to exclusive extra materials including the (almost-) weekly Govorit Moskva news briefing right here. Judd Burton Bio:I can remember when I was just a lad, somewhere around ten years old, being in love with new experiences and ideas. The springboard for my interests as they are today came in the form of one Dr. George Knight, professor of New Testament at Hardin-Simmons University, and an accomplished field archaeologist. It just so happened that his brother-in-law, Reverend Wayne Keller, was the pastor at my church. Our congregation had the great fortune of Dr. Knight's leadership in a number of seasonal bible studies throughout the year. To my great delight, he always added tales of his work on archaeological sites in the Near East. That's really all it took for me, because I drank it all in, and it became part of me. I have ever since been an explorer: a direct result of the marriage of faith in Jesus Christ and academic enthusiasm.I have a BA in History from Hardin-Simmons University. I also have an MA in anthropology from Texas Tech University. This year I completed my PhD in history at Texas Tech University, focusing my studies on Early Christianity and Greco-Roman religions. I also study topics such as the survival of mythology, sacred geography, folk religion, and contemporary alternative religious movements.I grew up in a small town called Merkel, Texas. I went to school there, learned from such wonderful teachers as Chuck Roach, Lisa Amerine, Alvin O'Dell, and Lisa Walker. Merkel also afforded me the opportunity to learn how to play the guitar, and yes, be in a rock band, Black Pearl. The little hamlet of Merkel was a wonderful place to grow up. The present population is about 2500. Merkel has an intersting history, full of cultural vibrance, and at one point in time, it even had a college. So if you ever get the chance, visit Merkel. In my years I've had some interesting adventures. While playing in the marching band at Cisco Junior College, I visited Hawaii. I've also done archaeology on both sides of the globe: Texas and Israel. To top it all off, I've also been to Jordan, Denmark, and Mexico, and hope to add Ireland, Greece, Egypt, Thailand, Australia, Belize, and Vietnam to that list soon.Dr. Burton's Link:https://www.burtonbeyond.net/about-me

Decades before Covid-19, the AIDS epidemic tore through communities in the US and around the world. It has killed some 40 million people and continues to take lives today. But early on, research and public policy focused on AIDS as a gay men's disease, overlooking other vulnerable groups—including communities of color and women. This month marks 45 years since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published its first report about a mysterious illness that would eventually be called AIDS. So we're bringing back Blindspot: The Plague in the Shadows, from reporters Kai Wright and Lizzy Ratner, which chronicles the first years of the HIV epidemic in New York City. One of the most influential activists for women with AIDS was Katrina Haslip, a prisoner at a maximum-security prison in upstate New York. In the 1980s, Haslip and other incarcerated women started a support group to educate each other about HIV and AIDS.Haslip took her activism beyond prison walls after her release in 1990, even meeting with CDC leaders. One of the main goals was to change the definition of AIDS, which at the time excluded many symptoms that appeared in HIV-positive women. This meant that women with AIDS often did not qualify for government benefits such as Medicaid and disability insurance. The podcast series Blindspot: The Plague in the Shadows is a co-production of The History Channel and WNYC Studios. This is an update of an episode that originally aired in February 2024. Why would Jesus compare Himself to a bronze serpent? In John 3:14–15, Jesus connects His crucifixion to one of the most unusual events in the Old Testament—Moses lifting up the bronze serpent in the wilderness. In this episode of Shadows to Substance, George Sayour explores how Numbers 21 points directly to Christ, revealing a powerful picture of sin, judgment, faith, and salvation. Discover how the curse of Eden, the wilderness rebellion, and the cross all come together in one remarkable biblical pattern—and why Jesus said that just as Moses lifted up the serpent, so the Son of Man must be lifted up. Those who looked in faith lived then. Those who look to Christ in faith live now.

The Metaphysical Hour with Julia Cannon and Tracie Mahan and Question Master Tiffanny Dreams, Orbs, Animal Souls, Remote Viewing, and the Energy Behind Manifestation Julia Cannon Opens The Metaphysical Hour In this episode of The Metaphysical Hour, hosts Julia Cannon, Tracie Mahan, and Tiffany welcome listeners back for a live question-and-answer conversation about energy, dreams, spirit communication, remote viewing, manifestation, and QHHT. Julia begins by explaining that the previous week had been unusually draining for her energetically, and Tracie connects that to the possibility of solar flares, moon energy, and larger energetic shifts. The hosts check in with the audience, ask listeners to share where they are shining their light from, and frame the show as a global grid of people strengthening their energy together. Energy Shifts, Sleep, and Forward Movement The opening conversation focuses on how the hosts are personally feeling. Tracie says she feels more optimistic, as if a stagnant or paused energy has finally begun moving again. Julia agrees that things feel better than the previous week, especially because she has been sleeping better. The hosts emphasize the importance of sleep for the body, even if the soul itself does not need it in the same way. They describe the current energy as one of gradual forward movement, after a period of waiting, limbo, and low vitality. Orbs, Colors, Shadows, and Trusting Inner Feeling The first questions involve the meaning of gray or black colors around orbs or people, and why crossed-over pets may sometimes appear as dark shadows. Tracie suggests that gray may indicate cloudy or depressed energy, while Julia says it could also reflect a partial disconnection from the body or a state of trauma, depending on the context. They both stress that the person seeing the orb or shadow should trust their own feeling. If the experience feels loving or curious, that matters; if it feels fearful, the viewer should check whether the fear is coming from the situation or from their own uncertainty about the unknown. Animal Kingdoms and Collective Souls The hosts also discuss the idea of collective souls in the animal kingdom, connecting it to Dolores Cannon's teachings about animal group souls. Julia explains that animals are part of a collective or group consciousness, but when a person brings an animal into their personal life, gives it love, attention, and a distinct personality, that relationship helps develop the animal's individuality. Tracie adds that this relationship gives the animal soul an opportunity to evolve. The conversation presents human-animal relationships as spiritually meaningful, because love and connection can help an animal soul become more individualized. Remembering Dreams and Understanding Dream Symbols Another major theme is dream recall. The hosts recommend writing dreams down as soon as possible after waking, because details disappear quickly if people wait until morning. Tracie shares that she does not always write dreams down, but certain dreams have stayed with her for years because they felt more like visions than ordinary dreams. Tiffany recalls childhood dreams about “killer rolling pulleys” wearing Converse shoes and sunglasses, which leads the hosts to discuss how strange dreams may be visits to other worlds, symbolic experiences, or reflections of other lives. They also recommend using dream books, especially Betty Bethards' The Dream Book, while reminding listeners to trust what resonates personally. Dreams, the Veil, and Shadow Beings Julia and Tracie explain that some experiences after sleep, such as seeing shadow figures or having sleep-paralysis-like visions, may happen because the soul is not fully reconnected with the body yet. In that transitional state, a person may see through the veil into another dimension and interpret what they see through fear. Julia says some people assume they are seeing dark or evil entities when they may actually be seeing guides or other beings in a form the conscious mind cannot fully process. The hosts encourage listeners to remove fear and judgment, pray or call in their team if needed, and remember that not everything unfamiliar is harmful. Fear, ETs, and Learning to Stay Centered The hosts spend time discussing fear as one of the major energies people come to Earth to experience and learn from. Tracie shares a memory of a mantis-being dream or encounter in which she kept checking her solar plexus to see whether fear was present. Because she felt no fear, she stayed with the experience. Julia says extraterrestrial beings and other-dimensional beings often work to approach humans in ways that do not immediately trigger fear, because fear interferes with communication and growth. The hosts explain that fear can sometimes be protective, but living in fear keeps people from expanding. Manifestation, Soul Contracts, and What Really Needs to Be Created A question from Instagram leads to a discussion about manifestation and soul contracts. The question asks whether manifesting can work if the soul has already planned certain lessons. Julia and Tracie explain that if a desired manifestation would interfere with a soul path, it may not happen. They use the example of someone trying to manifest a lottery win when the deeper desire may actually be freedom, travel, ease, or playfulness. They suggest focusing on the feeling or experience behind the desire rather than the specific outer object. They also caution that manifestation cannot control another person, because each soul has its own path and free will. Remote Viewing, Remote Healing, and Energy Connection The hosts then discuss remote viewing and remote healing. Tracie says remote viewing has been coming up more often and that beings such as the mantis beings have been working with people on telepathy and remote perception. Julia and Tracie explain that because everything is energy, people can practice remote viewing by connecting with a person, place, pet, or situation through the energy field. They share examples of remotely checking on animals and of a group remote-healing exercise during a trip to Egypt, where participants attempted to perceive and send healing to someone at a distance. The lesson is that energy connection does not require physical proximity. Colors, Auras, Sound, and Expanding Perception A listener asks about seeing colors while sending love and light. Julia and Tracie say this could be the person's aura, spirit energy, guides, or the energetic field responding. They explain that energy has color, sound has color, and as consciousness evolves, people may begin seeing more colors, auras, and dimensional overlays than before. Julia connects this to expanding perception, DNA activation, and humanity becoming a vibrational match for frequencies that have always existed but were not previously visible to most people. QHHT, Santa Fe Retreat, and Closing Reminders The episode closes with reminders about QHHT, where listeners can find practitioners, ask deeper questions, and become practitioners themselves. Julia directs people to QHTOfficial.com, while Tracie mentions the coupon code The Magic Is Real for the Level One course. They also promote an upcoming retreat in Santa Fe, New Mexico, scheduled for September 3–7, with the discount code 5DLOVE. The show ends with the hosts thanking the audience, encouraging listeners to continue exploring their intuition, and reminding them that energy, dreams, fear, manifestation, and spirit communication are all part of the larger process of awakening.

The blockbuster TV series, Stranger Things, was originally to be titled "Montauk." Montauk was known to be used for MK Ultra experiments, portal openings, time travel, and other “stranger things.” With the erection and dedication of the Arch of Bal in New York, which coincided with the terrorist bombings, could a Vale of Shadows have opened the Upside Down world? On this episode of Ground Zero, Clyde Lewis talks with conspiracy researcher and author Tim Swartz about THE MONTAUK SHOW. The original broadcast was on September 20, 2016.

In 1971, Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi threw a party to celebrate the 2,500-year anniversary of the Persian Empire. It was planned to be a massive party, with tents set up in the desert, and invitations sent to just about every world leader across both the Western and Soviet blocs. Robert Templer writes about this celebration–and how it presaged the events of the Iranian Revolution of 1979–in his new book The Shah's Party: And the Iranian Revolution That Followed (Hurst, 2026). Robert Templer is a writer and former professor at the Central European University, where he also founded a research centre on post-conflict recovery. From 2011-2012, he was director of the Asia Programme at the International Crisis Group and has visited Iran on many occasions. What if the thing you criticize in yourself is connected to one of your deepest gifts? In this episode, I explore the way our strengths and shadows often share the same root. The qualities that make us powerful, sensitive, insightful, effective, creative, or deeply attuned can also come with costs, limitations, and places where we may not function as easily. Inspired by the idea of "impossible opposites" in online dating profiles, this episode looks at the ways we may ask other people, and ourselves, to be contradictory things all at once. We may expect ourselves to be sensitive and tough, spontaneous and focused, deeply relational and endlessly productive, magical and practical, strong and never difficult. But human beings tend to have internal congruence. Our gifts live in relationship with our limits. The same sensitivity that allows you to read energy may make chaotic environments harder on your nervous system. The same problem-solving ability that helps people create real change may not always translate into pure emotional witnessing. The same depth that makes you wonderful in meaningful conversation may not make you the person holding court at every party. This episode is an invitation to soften the pressure to be all things, all at once. Instead of seeing every difficult edge as a flaw, we can begin to ask: What gift lives near this shadow? What strength is connected to this limitation? What would it feel like to honor the actual shape of who I am? We can still build skills where they support our lives. But we do not have to treat ourselves as defective because we are not an impossible collection of every admirable quality. Want to support my work and be supported by my team of guides? In this powerful episode, I sit down once again with Dr. Dennis Carroll to discuss one of the most dangerous spiritual forces affecting humanity today—the spirit of pride. Together, we examine how pride was at the heart of Satan's fall from heaven and how the same destructive spirit continues to influence individuals, cultures, and even the Church. We explore what the Bible teaches about humility, repentance, and surrendering our lives to God, as well as how pride can blind people to the truth and keep them from accepting God's grace. As we look at biblical prophecy and the signs of the last days, we discuss why pride may be one of the greatest obstacles preventing people from turning to God. Could the growing spirit of self-exaltation, arrogance, and rebellion against God be a key characteristic of the end times? Join us as we dive into Scripture, spiritual warfare, and the urgent call for humility before God in a world increasingly driven by pride. Topics Covered: • Satan's fall and the origin of pride • Biblical warnings about pride • Humility versus self-exaltation • Spiritual warfare and demonic influence • Pride in modern culture • The role of pride in the end times • How believers can guard their hearts and walk in humility #Podcast #ChristianPodcast #EndTimes #SpiritualWarfare #Pride #Humility Dr. Dennis Carroll is a National and Internationally Known Writer/Author and an Authority on The Occult and Folklore. What if the reason meeting people feels so hard right now isn't because you're doing something wrong, but because the entire social landscape has changed? We're unpacking what it actually looks like to meet people beyond dating apps in a world where community and connection don't come as naturally built into everyday life anymore. We discuss why simply showing up doesn't actually lead to meaningful relationships (and what you can do instead), how to leverage modern social clubs, activities, and events in a way that doesn't burn you out, and ways you can make a random acquaintance a friend and then possibly lead to a date. If you've ever wondered why it feels harder to connect these days, or hoped meeting someone “in the wild” would magically happen without effort, this conversation is for you.----Take our Dating Archetypes quiz: https://howtobedateable.com/Read our book: How To Be Dateable: The Essential Guide To Finding Your Person and Falling in Love: https://howtobedateable.com/Try the Dateable AI Dating Coach: Get personalized advice trained on our years of podcast episodes, courses and frameworks: https://studio.com/dateableFollow us @dateablepodcast, @juliekrafchick and @nonplatonic. Welcome back to Very Clinical for "Rock and Roll, Part 3"—the latest installment of our ongoing, completely dentistry-free detour into the music that shaped our lives. In this episode, Zach, Kevin (aka: K-Rock), and Alan shift the spotlight away from the frontmen and look at the "corporate" machinery and unsung geniuses behind the greatest eras of pop and rock. We dive deep into the legendary collective of freelance studio masters in LA known as The Wrecking Crew and Detroit's incredibly prolific hit-makers, The Funk Brothers, revealing how some of the most definitive tracks of the 60s and 70s were actually built by daily session workers. From the carefully manufactured magic of "Corporate Rock" and the television-born crossover of The Monkees to the fine line between artistic theft and genuine innovation, we examine how the music industry built its most profitable formulas—and how those formulas repeatedly triggered counter-cultural rebellions like punk and grunge. Russia still talks about the “Near Abroad” as if the map never changed, but the region is changing anyway. After a quick touch on Zelensky's open letter to Putin and the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, I dive into the relative trajectories of Armenia, currently at the polls, and Belarus, emphatically not. Despite its continued use of this problematic, imperialist term the "Near Abroad," in different ways, Moscow' is finding its influence fraying across the former Soviet space, and why the Kremlin is leaning harder on pressure, deniability, and narrative spin to compensate for a shrinking sphere of influence. In this episode of Shadows to Substance, Pastor George Sayour explores one of the most remarkable themes in the Gospel of John: Jesus Christ as the true temple of God. Far more than a collection of miracles and teachings, John's Gospel presents Jesus as the fulfillment of the tabernacle, the temple, the sacrifices, and the entire system of Old Covenant worship. From "the Word became flesh and dwelt among us" to the empty tomb, John reveals that everything pointed to Christ. Scholars have long noted John's extensive use of temple imagery to portray Jesus as God's ultimate dwelling place among His people. Join us as we trace these connections throughout John's Gospel and discover how the shadows of the Old Testament find their substance in Jesus Christ.
We're constantly told that texting is the key to building connection—but what if constant communication is actually creating a false sense of intimacy? In this episode, we're unpacking the role texting plays in modern dating, and how being in touch all the time can blur the line between real connection and just constant contact. We're also talking about the pressure texting creates in relationships, the mixed signals that come from low-effort communication, and why intentionality matters more than frequency. Ultimately, we explore how setting boundaries, communicating with purpose, and focusing on meaningful interactions over endless availability can lead to healthier, more grounded relationships.
