Welcome to the third and final episode of season 2 of Evoking the Sublime. I wanted to do something a little special on this episode. Oftentimes, I talk with people about the Sega Genesis, but it’s rare that I find people that hold the same reverence for the system as I have. So I decided to bring on the only person that I know that shares that same love for the Genesis as me: my father. We sat down to reminisce on the games we have loved for years and had such a wonderful time. Please enjoy. I love you, Dad.
The second episode of season 2 is here! God, it feels so good to say that.In this episode, I broke down the creation and development of one of the best games of this year: Ori and the Will of the Wisps. I was joined by Jeremy Gritton, art director and story lead, and Chris McEntee, lead designer, at Moon Studios to delve into detail about this amazing game.Jeremy does not have social media at this time, but if you’d like to check out Chris and his work, please follow him on Twitter.

Episode 6 of Evoking the Sublime is here! The topic of this episode is centered around The Walking Dead series created by Telltale Games. Four main seasons, one extra episode, and a side season, there was plenty of material to cover. A series that started out as revitalizing the text-based genre of video gaming, it has ended in a far different destination. Take the journey as we delve into the finer details of each season of The Walking Dead.

Episode 4 is here! On this episode of Evoking the Sublime, we discuss the creation and history of the Diablo-inspired action loot game Torchlight. Beautiful and light-hearted yet gritty and brutal, Torchlight was a game that attempted to take the action loot game and make it less dismal looking. Enjoy the newest episode, and don’t forget to share the love with a friend!
The third episode of Evoking the Sublime is upon us! It is time to discuss one of the world's greatest indie games of all time: Super Meatboy. An eccentric platformer that has more charm than a Prince show (RIP), this game is a must play. Enjoy!
Welcome to the second episode of Evoking the Sublime, where we discuss Subset Games’ title Into the Breach. A rogue-like strategy game, Into the Breach is an addictive and immersive chess-like mech adventure. The history, creation, and inspiration are all discussed with Justin Ma, one half of the creative duo behind the game.
Welcome to the first episode of the new podcast from the Sword Chomp crew: Evoking the Sublime. After months of work and logistics, it has finally been launched. The aim of EtS is to offer an in-depth look at the history and creation of one video game per episode. This episode details the ideas behind What Remains of Edith Finch, one of Sword Chomp's favorite games of 2017. Shea, me, the host, was lucky enough to speak to the creative director of the game and of Giant Sparrow, Ian Dallas. An interview filled with behind-the-scenes stories and laughs, I felt absolutely privileged. Enjoy, and look out next month for the second episode!
