Este capítulo de El Placer de Viajar ofrece una visión de la Comunidad Valenciana diferente a la que suele ser asociada con el turismo en la región. En este nuevo episodio de El Placer de Viajar, el podcast de turismo de esRadio y Libertad Digital, sus conductores, Carmelo Jordá y Kelu Robles, nos proponen un recorrido fascinante por dos destinos espectaculares, completado con las habituales novedades del sector de la mano de Santiago Molina. El viaje comienza en la provincia de Valencia, concretamente en Bocairente, un municipio de gran belleza situado en el límite con Alicante y rodeado por el impresionante entorno montañoso de la Sierra de Mariola. Para apreciar Bocairente en todo su esplendor, los presentadores recomiendan detenerse en el mirador situado junto al cementerio municipal. Desde allí se obtiene una de las panorámicas más bellas de España, con el caserío apiñado de forma inverosímil sobre una colina escarpada. El nombre de la localidad proviene del árabe andalusí y significa colmena o piña, términos que describen a la perfección la fisonomía de este núcleo urbano que parece colgar sobre el barranco. El trazado urbano del casco antiguo de Bocairente revela su indudable origen musulmán, con callejuelas serpenteantes, cuestas empinadas y pequeñas plazuelas. En la cima, coronando el pueblo en el solar que antiguamente ocupaba el castillo, se alza la Iglesia de la Asunción. Aunque su exterior es sobrio y pétreo, su interior sorprende por su espectacular decoración de estilo barroco valenciano y alberga un Museo Parroquial con valiosas obras de pintores tan relevantes como Juan de Juanes, que murió en la propia localidad, o Joaquín Sorolla. Otro de los grandes atractivos de la localidad es su singular plaza de toros, considerada la más antigua de la Comunidad Valenciana en uso, cuya principal particularidad es que se encuentra completamente excavada en la roca de la montaña. Asimismo, dentro del término municipal se conservan antiguos neveros o cavas de nieve, como la Cava de Sant Miquel, testimonios de una antigua industria de almacenamiento de hielo que dio origen a la célebre tradición heladera de la zona. Sin duda, el monumento más enigmático de Bocairente son las conocidas como Covetes dels Moros, un grupo de cuevas artificiales colgadas a media altura en una pared de roca vertical frente al pueblo. Su origen exacto sigue envuelto en el misterio, aunque la hipótesis más aceptada es que sirvieron como graneros fortificados en época bereber. Su visita requiere cierta agilidad física debido a la estrechez de sus galerías, que regalan una luz espectacular al atardecer cuando el sol se filtra por sus ventanas.Cahors La segunda parte del viaje nos traslada al sur de Francia para descubrir la histórica ciudad de Cahors, situada en la región de Occitania. Atravesada por un pronunciado meandro del río Lot, esta localidad de unos 20.000 habitantes gozó de una gran prosperidad comercial durante la época medieval y constituye un hito fundamental dentro de la tradicional ruta de peregrinación del Camino de Santiago francés. El gran emblema de Cahors es el majestuoso Pont Valentré, un impresionante puente medieval fortificado construido en el siglo XIV que se conserva en un estado excepcional. Cuenta con seis arcos de ojiva y tres imponentes torres defensivas que vigilan el paso sobre el río. El monumento tiene su propia leyenda local que habla de un pacto con el Diablo para finalizar las obras y, quizá como agradecimiento, la figura de Satanás aparece esculpida en lo alto de una de las torres. El recorrido por el casco histórico de la ciudad revela una fisonomía típicamente medieval, con calles estrechas que desembocan en agradables plazas peatonales. En el corazón de la ciudad se levanta la Catedral de Saint-Étienne, que combina elementos románicos y góticos y destaca por sus enormes cúpulas de influencia bizantina. Muy cerca se sitúa el mercado cubierto del siglo XIX, un punto de encuentro ideal para sumergirse en la rica gastronomía de la región. La cocina local de Cahors es famosa por el prestigio de sus productos, destacando de manera especial el vino de Cahors, elaborado principalmente con la variedad de uva malbec y conocido históricamente como el vino negro por su intensa coloración. La mesa se completa con especialidades tan suculentas como el foie gras de pato, las nueces y la valorada trufa negra del Quercy, que hacen las delicias de cualquier visitante. En los alrededores de Cahors se pueden realizar excursiones excepcionales a lo largo del valle del Lot. Los presentadores destacan la visita a Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, un bellísimo pueblo colgado sobre un acantilado que evoca la fisonomía de las villas medievales fortificadas, y el espectacular santuario de Rocamadour, un centro de peregrinación mariana de fama mundial cuyas iglesias se encuentran suspendidas de manera asombrosa en mitad de un desfiladero rocoso.Noticias para viajeros Finalmente, el programa concluye con el espacio de noticias de Santiago Molina, quien detalla la última clasificación de las mejores aerolíneas mundiales, encabezada por Singapore Airlines. Diablo Reveals – 29:10 Never really played Diablo, but with a Netflix show and an intriguing announcement of Diablo V, I'm open, or will be in 2029 when it arrives. Starcraft Reveal – 35:27 Also not a Starcraft player, but dude…did you see that cinematic?!  An open-world, story-driven shooter game just might pull me into the SC universe. The Last Titan Teaser – 1:14:56 Slightly unexpected and thin on any details, this brief cinematic definitely teases what's on the horizon.  Giant titan robots. Warcraft III…What? – 1:22:22 An expansion for what now?  The new campaigns added to Warcraft III give us insight into the fall of Lorderon and set up the story at the opening of the next new way to play World of Warcraft… WoW Forever! – 1:28:43 Finally, we put the moniker “Classic+” to bed once and for all.  WoW Forever has enchanted a large portion of the WoW player base and this is only beta.  Launch is November 4.  So excited for this sweet spot combination of Classic and Retail, possibly greater than the sum of its parts. So, What is the Character Limit in WoW Forever? – 1:58:40 There are 52 possible combinations of race and class in WoW Forever as of the beta.  Does the character limit allow you to try them all?  At this moment, yes!  Seems the cap is 70, just like Retail. “What have you done lately?” – 2:05:18  A little bit of my bumping around in retail and switching the main back to feral druid for the rest of Midnight and beyond. BlizzCon just wrapped, and so there is so much to talk about we couldn't pack it all into an hour. We spent around an hour on WoW Forever, the new Classic+ that was rumored and is now coming to fruition with a sort-of alternate history. There was a lot of Midnight news too, including Talebound, which is an upcoming alt mode a la Plunderstorm. We got a small tidbit from The Last Titan, we saw Holly Longdale's impeccable outfit -- and that was just all the WoW stuff! No wait, it wasn't. There's also going to be Undead Paladins, to tie in to both a Warcraft 3 expansion and Wrath of the Lich KingRemix, the portmanteau for which is still up in the air (I lean toward Wremix, but I've seen a few ReLiches too).There were two very long-range reveals for Diablo 5 and StarCraft, not to mention a Netflix Diablo series with no ETA at all. The Hearthstone Battlegrounds new Anomaly family and the next Overwatch season (and next hero Doctrine) release next week though, for a little balance. The Hearthstone expansion Reign of the Black Empire is a bit further off, though, slated for October.Did I forget anything? The Warcraft talk takes up most of the hour, and for good reason. World of Warcraft Forever adds new races, new zones, dungeons and raids to the Classic version of Azeroth, including undead paladins for the Horde, with a beta starting next Thursday ahead of a November 4 launch. Frank played the five man dungeon demo on the show floor and came out talking about how much real communication a slower pace forces back into a group, while Squeaks, who has never touched Classic, walked away planning a warlock. On the retail side, the Eclipse patch and the language Blizzard kept using about closing out twenty years of story push the two of them into a long argument about whether the next expansion ends World of Warcraft and starts World of Warcraft 2 on a modern engine. Elsewhere: Diablo 4 gets Hell's Legacy with Deckard Cain back as the storyteller, a Diablo animated series is coming to Netflix with Overwatch and Warcraft adaptations teased behind it, Overwatch introduces a vampire healer whose backstory and voice were built around the actor playing him, and Wrath of the Lich King Remix only got revealed if you sat through the deep dive panel. StarCraft is back as an open world shooter set 100 years after StarCraft 2, but the 2030 date landed hard in the room, and both hosts worry about a Warhammer style game with no Protoss or Zerg to play. Diablo 5 arrives spring 2029, with Hell's Legacy bridging the gap in Diablo 4 and Deckard Cain returning to bring old bosses back for another fight. The Diablo animated series at Netflix is the adaptation Frank is most confident in, with Castlevania and Cyberpunk Edgerunners as the track record, and Overwatch and Warcraft projects teased after it. Blizzard's repeated framing about the culmination of twenty years has both hosts betting the next expansion closes the current story, with Frank arguing a true sequel is the only way past a 2004 engine. Attendance was the weekend's biggest problem, with two hour waits just to enter the convention center on Saturday and three hour waits for the store and the Darkmoon Faire.
