He also talks of making games for old mobile phones and for the mighty Amiga back in the day.Ricky also reveals how Wilmot’s Warehouse started life as what he considered to be a mad idea by his colleague Dick Hogg, as well as getting into a playfight with Keita Takahashi, creator of Katamari Damacy, as they tested the game they made together, Tenya Wanya Teens. Welcome back! How's it spinnin'? All the turny parts turnin'? Excellent, because we have good stuff for that platter of yours in our 31rd ("thirty firrrd") episode of Video Game Grooves! We open our listening party with one of the great arcade games of the 1980s, Space Harrier by Hiroshi Kawaguchi, whose work we have recently featured! Anthony helps us squint and look close as we dive into some of the synth compositions of the accomplished artist circa 1985 and the visual juxtaposition of... well... of the weird-ass scenario of Space Harrier at large. Is it a man flying with a gun or a gun flying with a man?? (Hi Scott and Joe!) Next we explore with wanton abandon the imaginative land- and sky-scapes of Hohokum, by a pantheon of great musicians from the Ghostly International label of electronic music. A couple of very-Paul picks are yours to discover, along with the art of Richard Hogg in our gallery below! "The best compiled soundtrack since Katamari Damacy"?? So says Jeremy. What do you say? We cover the news and new releases (and there's a load of 'em!) in the last couple of weeks and help you pick from the records requesting -- nay, demanding --  your time and money! Finally, we spend the third segment considering the possibility that there may be a "video game music on vinyl record bubble", and contemplating what might/could/will happen when it lets out a little air. What do you think about the sustainability of the little niche we love? Let us know in the comments or on social media! This week on The Free Cheese Podcast: Sandeep joins us, albeit briefly, with some insightful questions and thoughts on Resident Evil, where to start with The Legend of Zelda, and why we didn't buy the New Nintendo 3DS XL. Kyle slowly loses his patience with Majora's Mask 3D, so much so that it has killed his enjoyment of video games... for now. Dan has been toggling in the world of Far Cry 4 (which still isn't Game of the Year), and explores the weird world of Hohokum. Marc is fired up about Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and the controversy surrounding Hotline Miami 2. Marc has been playing EarthBound for the first time, as well as Pikmin, which has really taken root in his heart.  We talk about the shortage of amiibo, Nintendo's finances, and the death of physical media. There is a lot to unpack this week, so grab some pizza and settle in.

HELLO I've not put an image on this one because honestly what is the bloody point. This episode is one that we recorded literally over a month ago, then Andi's laptop shat itself and then EGX happened but now he's recovered his audio and sent it to me and now you can listen to a show about videogames from literally around 30 days ago. Some of those games are:- Battlefield 4- Hearthstone- Hohokum- 80 Days- Dead Rising 3- Wolfenstein: The New Order- Ni No KuniYou might notice that we don't talk about Destiny in this one - we actually did, but then I edited it out because we're gonna do a massive Destiny special at some point in the 'future' which I already know you're all excited as fuck about.JOIN US NEXT TIME for an episode we've literally already recorded where we answer your questions.Kisssssss

I'm sure I don't need to tell you why this is a sad week. In light of recent events, we hastily, clumsily cobbled together a tribute to Robin Williams for this week's show by centering our Top 5 on games based on his movies. (Some of them are kind of terrible, though, so this may be stretching the definition of "tribute.") Then we resume normal programming with some talk about Hohokum, the return of Sierra, and the crappy licensed games you loved as a kid.
