For the past five years, the Texas Showdown Series has been slowly, inevitably, drifting west. We started in the dense, pine-soaked forests of East Texas, moved through the rugged limestone of the Hill Country, but the destination was always clear: Big Bend. Few landscapes in the world capture the heart and soul the way West Texas does. For those willing to push themselves to the edge, something different waits out there—something ancient, indifferent, and extraordinary. In the world of ultra-cycling, that "something" takes the shape of the West Texas Showdown. The WTS doesn't just test riders. It strips them down. It pushes them to their limits and then, without apology or sympathy, asks for more. Out there, the desert becomes your only companion—its silence broken only by your groans, your breathing, and the steady reminder that you are very far from comfort. And the numbers tell the story: only 32% of the field finished the course. In the Showdown category, the desert claimed all but three riders. Fifteen started. Three rolled into Terlingua. Despite the brutality of the route, the racing was electric and equally unrelenting. A small but mighty group battled back and forth across the miles, creating genuine, edge-of-your-seat dot-watching. It wasn't clear who would take the win until the final stretch, and by then everyone—riders, spectators, and the desert itself—had given everything they had. When the dust settled, here's who was left standing: 1st — Kyle Gilbert — 2d 5h 44m 2nd — Hannah Simon — 2d 16h 17m 3rd (DFL) — Robert Shine — 2d 19h 33m These three deserve every ounce of praise and recognition—not just for surviving the desert, but for putting on one hell of a race. Everyone who was out there knows how hard they had to fight, and they earned the respect of the entire field. This week, something unusual happened. Larry and I were listening to a major podcast when the guest began describing a military man who remembered being recruited at age 13 — into a psychic program no one was supposed to know about.It echoed the very material I've disclosed in Team Whisper and Interview with a Psychic Assassin.He wasn't in the base I had been in, but his story matched the structure, purpose, and technology: the weaponization of psychic abilities, intelligence-gathering work, and mind-wipe protocols.What interested me even more is why this is surfacing now… and how tightly it's being woven into the UFO disclosure agenda.This year has already matched the “Looking Ahead” markers, and 2026 is lining up fast.Larry and I listened to a podcast where a known documentarian was sharing his journey during his most recent documentary about UFOs (or as they like to call them, UAPs now). Near the end of his interview, he mentioned a particular military man who had started to recall having been recruited into military service at age 13, which in the USA is illegal.“I think they are talking about Team Whisper,” Larry said.“It sure sounds like it,” I answered.Of course, Team Whisper is a novel, so there was no way he was part of it. But what Larry was referring to was the real-life recruitment and weaponization of psychic children around the world.I have addressed this issue in two of my novels, Team Whisper and Interview with a Psychic Assassin. They are both revelatory of what has been happening to many kids around the world.The interviewee didn't mention the military man's name, but he did mention that there would be a memoir published by him under a pen name, “xxxx”.Having a physical (or digital) rendering of his story, and a name — even though it is not his real name — I was able to scan for the military man and found him.A couple of things became obvious. He did not appear to be in the same base I had been at as a kid.Oh, did I tell you that those novels are based on real-world events?However, even though he was not in the same base, it appears that he was indeed part of a similar organization and had very similar aims and goals — the goal being the weaponization of psychic abilities.His branch appeared to be more on the intelligence-gathering side of things: Remote Viewing, bilocation, expansion of awareness, and correct interpretation of data.One of the interesting parts of this whole thing was that he also left at 17 and was recruited later, as an adult, into the conventional military. It was also interesting that he and his relatives were mind-wiped when his childhood participation was over.The reason he started having memories return was because he had a medical condition that affected his brain. When he checked with his mother, she confirmed that his father had taken him into the military at age 13. He also found documentation in his father's old things to support his returning memories.For me, it was interesting that this kind of revelation is coming out right now on major mainstream outlets. Yes, the podcast was from a show with millions of listeners around the world.When I looked at it, and at how it had been tightly wrapped into the UFO disclosure programs, it made me wonder about how this is all going to look in 2026. If you follow the carbon market, and you should, it is yet another lesson in the abject failure that almost certainly results in gerrymandering markets. Four times a year you bid for credits (offsets) to counter your polluting habits. You do this because we signed up to Paris and made a bunch of promises we were never going to be able to keep. By selling credits the Government has the potential income of about $2 billion a year. Except little, if any, of that happens because by and large people don't turn up and bid. And they fail to show up, broadly speaking, because people don't believe a word the Government says on climate. It's not just this Government. The last one was even worse. They have tried to set a price for carbon credits, remembering of course that it's an entirely invented market. So it's a dart-at-a-board stuff at the best of times. Of late the price was $52. Then it was $33 before settling back to about $40-something. Enter Climate Minister Simon Watts. Now, he doesn't normally talk about the market because that's interference, the same way the Prime Minister doesn't talk about the Reserve Bank. But Simon has talked about the market, and he has done that because the Government are panicked. He issued a reassurance that despite all the changes they are making around climate, the carbon market and the ETS are still a thing. We are still committed, it's still going to happen. His commitments, he said, are firm. Except, Simon, that's the problem – no one believes you. This is a Government that says one thing and does another. Don't get me wrong, what, roughly, they are doing is the right thing. The tide has gone out on climate. The promises are a bust. No one is going to make Net Zero, so the answer is stop pretending you are. Science might come to the rescue and if it does, fantastic. But the governmental promises around carbon and the ETS and car import duties is all BS. There is no better proof of that than the carbon market. The market is calling the Government's bluff. I ministri dell'Ambiente dell'Ue hanno raggiunto a Bruxelles un accordo sul clima che fissa l'obiettivo di ridurre del 90% le emissioni rispetto ai livelli del 1990 entro il 2040. Dopo 24 ore di trattative, solo Slovacchia, Ungheria e Polonia si sono opposte, mentre Belgio e Bulgaria si sono astenuti. L'Italia, inizialmente contraria, ha sostenuto il compromesso finale. La proposta della Commissione europea rappresenta una tappa intermedia verso la neutralità climatica del 2050. È stata introdotta la possibilità per gli Stati membri di utilizzare crediti internazionali fino al 5% per compensare le emissioni, una misura fortemente voluta dall'Italia, mentre Germania, Spagna e Paesi nordici spingevano per il limite al 3%. Questi crediti, legati a progetti ambientali come riforestazione o investimenti in rinnovabili, dovranno essere di alta qualità. È inoltre previsto che dal 2030 si possa valutare l'uso di un ulteriore 5% di crediti domestici.
