We're returning once again to the world of books with the first volume of the Death Stranding Novelization. What could've just been a basic tie-in product to the main game actually turned out to be a thoughtful adaptation of the games world, characters, and themes to the written word. But most importantly, we get more than we could've ever asked for about Sam's Feet.Episode 88: Sam's Feet and Toenails

Vragen? Mail ons! Op allinthegame@bnr.nl Over All in the GameAll in the Game is de podcast over games voor iedereen. Elke week hoor je minimaal één aflevering van All in the Game. Het komt allemaal aan bod in All in the Game. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The director of the beloved "Pig" is back for his third feature, the surprisignly brutal and deeply tactile drama "The Death of Robin Hood." Sarnoski talks with IndieWire's Chris O'Falt about defining this version of the folk hero with star Hugh Jackman, the intent behind the film's brutal violence, and the importance of doing so much of it practically. Sarnoski also teases his upcoming adaptation of the "Death Stranding" video game franchise. Xbox can't help itself; it finds rakes out of nowhere to step on, and its all self-inflicted. There won't be any trips in the Tardis anytime soon, and who is to blame? George Miller wants to sell Mad Max, but why? And Fox buys Roku, which feels oddly familiar.
Robin Hood has been a lot of things over the centuries: noble thief, romantic outlaw, swashbuckling folk hero, animated fox, Kevin Costner with an accent that wanders wherever it pleases. But in Michael Sarnoski's hands, the myth becomes something darker, sadder, and more spiritually eviscerated. His new film, “The Death of Robin Hood,” is less interested in the legend as a heroic brand than in the man who might be trapped beneath its curse.Written and directed by Sarnoski, “The Death of Robin Hood” stars Hugh Jackman as an aging, haunted Robin Hood, a man grappling with a life of violence after a battle leaves him gravely injured. In the care of a mysterious Prioress played by Jodie Comer, he's offered something that might look like salvation, if he can survive long enough to accept it. The film also stars Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe, and arrives in theaters June 19 via A24.READ MORE: ‘Obsession': Curry Barker On His Twisted Wish-Fulfillment Horror Breakout, Inde Navarrette's Wild Performance, ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre,' & More [The Discourse Podcast]Sarnoski joined The Playlist's The Discourse podcast to talk about stripping away centuries of heroic varnish, finding the emotional soul of Robin Hood, reuniting with cinematographer Pat Scola, and writing the upcoming “Death Stranding” movie. And early in the conversation, he acknowledged a thread that has become increasingly clear across his work, from “Pig” to “A Quiet Place: Day One” to “The Death of Robin Hood”: these are stories about people who, in some way, already feel dead before the movie begins.
Brothers J and Eric discuss the 2021 direct to Netflix film "Hypnotic," which doesn't break any new ground but delivers 88 minutes of reliable pablum. Along they way they mention Death Stranding, elevators, Schweddy Balls, and Room 237. Housekeeping starts at 1:07:30 during which J recommends the HBO MAX documentary series "The Yogurt Shop Murders," while recommending against having unauthorized rodents in your moving vehicle. Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels. We've got the full crew in the house for the first time in quite a while, and we've got all sorts of gaming goodies to discuss, so let's get rolling... Kevin kicks things off with an update on his time with Cuphead, after polishing off the Delicious Last Course DLC in co-op mode with our old pal DJ, from the early days of the podcast! John takes the reigns after that, and dives into a few games that he's been digging into after getting back home from a recent trip out west — primarily inspired by some of his recent, real-life snowboarding adventures in Utah. Finally, Randall closes things out with some recent mountain-traversal of his own, as he spends some more time with Death Stranding, before ultimately throwing in the towel, at least for now... It seems like forever ago that we promised to cover the Ape Escape/MGS3 mini-games. Well we're finally making good on that promise by playing Snake VS Monkey and Mesal Gear Solid (we love a pun that makes no sense in English). Join us as we get up to some monkey business, talk movie references, eulogize the mini-game, and... get excited about the new Lego Batman game? All of that plus we talk about our favorite music from Metal Gear and Death Stranding.Episode 84: Monkey Quibi

If you're looking for a great way to train your brain every morning, as well as understand how the devil a classic puzzle - the cryptic crossword - works, then Minute Cryptic should be on your phone. If that's too much, but you still want something (surprisingly) cerebral then, yes, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is for you. It's got a lot to say about the modern world for a film that, superficially, is about fashion. On the smaller screens, if you're looking for something completely unique, yet probably a bit of a bargain considering it's been out a while, we recommend Death Stranding, from Koj and the gang. All that, and flinging a Razzle, on Ep247. 00:00 - Where babies come from; a message from The Doc 05:12 - Minute Cryptic 16:49 - The Devil Wears Prada 2 40:17 - Death Stranding On this episode were Dan (@ThisDanFrost), Peter (@XeroXeroXero), and Sam (@MrSamTurner). Our Spotify Playlist brings together lots of great thematic music inspired by the stuff we talk about, our Steam Curator page collects every video game we've ever reviewed available on the platform, and our BoardGameGeek page does the same for every boardgame. And if you'd like to see what we're up to between podcasts, your best bet is our Instagram page. It doesn't skew how we think about that thing, and we don't receive compensation for anything we discuss, but we thought you might like to know this is the case.

Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels. The gang's all here once again, and we're chock-full of gaming goodies to dig into this week, so let's get rolling... Kevin gets things started off with an update on his time with Cave Story, after nearly wrapping up the adventure — before moving on to yet another indie "mini" metroidvania, Aggelos. John takes the reigns from there, and dives into a couple of games from indie developer, Jump Over The Age — first revisiting their debut release, In Other Waters, before booting up its follow-up, Citizen Sleeper, for the first time. Finally, Randall closes us out with a quick update on his time with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD — before dipping into a trio of AAA games on Xbox Game Pass, prior to the looming expiration of his membership... For episode 285, I'm joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes. We recorded this episode last week, due to my vacation and Myles' show, so it's not the timeliest of topics, but we still have some good stuff. There's some chatter about the new Faces of Death film (reviewed by yours truly here), though the bulk of our time is spent on Hideo Kojima, the legendary video game designer. We teased a periodic "Kojima Korner" segment months ago, so here it is, in all its strange glory. Between the Death Stranding and Metal Gear Solid franchises, there's a ton to cover. As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 285th one to date (here's to many more). Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. More to come each and every single week, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening!

Death Stranding 2 is finally on PC — but does it improve on the original or just play it safe?
While the wider world continues to embrace ubiquitous access for their digital products, compelling rumors indicate Sony might opt to go in the other direction. This is particularly surprising considering their pursuit of success on PC, openness in publishing on Nintendo Switch, and the shocking move to bring Helldivers II to Xbox. Then again, the numbers speak for themselves. It appears PlayStation has grossed somewhere between one and two billion dollars in total from their PC releases dating back to 2020, a comically small sum compared to their greater gross over that time, and an amount of money that may simply not justify further jeopardizing their closed ecosystem. Are we about to snap back to the old way of doing things? Many PlayStation fans will be pleased, if so. Plus: Wolverine gets a September release date on PS5, Horizon: Hunters Gathering and Marathon revel in concurrent playtests, Death Stranding 2 is coming to PC very soon, French publisher Nacon declares its insolvency, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Can Sony's first party teams truly be blamed for pitching games-as-a-service when it was clear that's what leadership wanted? Could it be possible that the secret Santa Monica Studio, Cory Barlog-directed game is Uncharted? Is Resident Evil 9's 10-12 hour runtime a selling point or a detriment? Will Sacred Symbols go another 400 episodes, or perhaps even 4,000? This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. Sony ran an all-timer of a State of Play last week, so we spend a bunch of time digging into a bunch of news and demos about God of War Trilogy Remake, Control Resonant, and Konami's impressive bundle of Castlevania, Silent Hill, and Metal Gear games. Also, games like God of War: Sons of Sparta, Menace, Heart of the Forest, and Avowed on PS5. Also, Vinny's questionable encounter at the Outback Steakhouse. Sony has accomplished a truly rare feat in this contentious era by providing players with a widely-lauded hour-plus State of Play presentation. At the top of the heap of announcements for many are a duo of God of War-related unveilings -- the long-rumored 2.5D Metroidvania game and an early-in-development ground-up remake of the original PS2 and PS3 trilogy -- with the former project stealth released at the time of its reveal. That's right: You can buy it right now! 29 other games were showcased, revealed, and otherwise shown off during the proceedings as well, like a new Castlevania called Belmont's Curse, a sequel to Kena: Bridge of Spirits called Scars of Kosmora, a AAA John Wick project, stealth title Yakoh: Shinobi Ops, the second volume of Konami's Metal Gear Collection, and much, much more. Plus, fresh looks at Saros, Resident Evil: Requiem, Marathon, Mina the Hollower, Beast of Reincarnation, Marvel Tokon, Control Resonant, Pragmata, 4LOOP, and so on. Other news rounds things out this week -- like steep layoffs at Highguard studio Wildlight and casting details for 2027' Helldivers film -- before we move onto listener inquiries.
