This podcast was started just after I found out about my wife's pregnancy. I realized that I didn't know anything, and she was doing all the heavy lifting. This show is all about my journey to try to be the best support for her and our future child.
We anticipating having two more weeks. Nope. Somebody wanted to introduce himself a little early.
As the time draws near for our son to be born, we're both realizing that nothing will be the same again. Mixed in with all the excitement ahead is a ton of uncertainty. We'll face it all as a family.
Camille is either anxious or nesting. I can't tell which. What I can tell is that she should sit down more. That ankle and foot swelling looks painful.
I finally convinced Camille to be on the show! I've spent the whole show telling you about my perspective on things. On this episode Camille will be giving hers.
Time is running out, and I'm not ready yet. Between my wife and me, one of us really enjoys planning and the other one is me. I gotta get on it.
The nursery is almost done and the maternity shots didn't look like those ones Beyonce did. It was a good week.
I wasn't expecting to be the only dude at the baby shower, but I was the only dude at the baby shower. It was fine.
The baby boy is looking huge, and we've got no answers. Especially, since we're both... unhuge.
I heard a lot of jokes this week from male co-workers that I told about going to a birthing class this week. We definitely found it worthwhile. For one, I learned that my job during labor/delivery extends further than having my hand crushed in Camille's pregnant woman grip. So, yeah...
This week we were on vacation in Nassau! I'll give you a recap of everything we saw and did.
Busy week. Camille had a doctor's visit, then got a shattered windshield. I had a doctor's visit, then Camille had another doctor's visit. Also, I discovered the best alternative to crutches ever (https://iwalk-free.com/)!
The baby boy is growing, and his brain is developing. His almost ready for me to start teaching him algebra to get him prepared for a career in STEM. Color me excited.
I've spent Camille's entire pregnancy feeling like I can't do enough to lessen the burden she's carrying. I felt like I hit a stride. We found what works... and then I ruptured my Achilles Tendon.
I'm joined by a special guest this week. You could read the title of the episode and guess, but it'll be much more fun if you listen.
After watching that documentary last week about midwives and home births, I wanted to talk to Marcus C. again to learn about his and Marsena's experience.
Camille had me watch a documentary called "The Business of Being Born" this week. It's got both of us thinking about the possibility of using a midwife next time.
This week we learned that Camille has an anterior placenta. Cool... What does that mean?
On this episode I'll be interviewing my pseudo twin brother, Gary. Gary and his wife, Arrion, have a two year-old son, but their journey was a little different.
On this episode I'll be talking to a good friend of mine from Kansas City, DC. He and his wife, Tam, have a one year old, but there's also a teenager living in their house. I am curious...
On this episode I'll tell you about a recent scare we had. Yeah, man... pregnancy is terrifying.
On this episode I'll update you on the results of our latest doctor's visit, our nursery prep progress, and the absolute ridiculousness of newborn clothes.
On this episode I'll be talking with another line brother, Lyall, about he and his wife's experiences. I am going to try to convince him to name his new son Karlyall, because reasons.
On this episode I get some advice from one of my line brothers, Mitchel. He gave me a gem that's gonna make me be Camille's MVP after delivery.
Camille's young cousin wanted to give us a gender reveal. We had never planned to have an actual gender reveal party, because neither of us were interested in it. Instead, we... well... check out this episode and find out.
On this episode I'll tell you about our continuing vacation troubles (hint: that Zika is ruining things). I'll also tell you about some things that I just learned (hint: developing babies grow fur).
On this episode I'm going to interview two of my good friends from back home in OKC, James and Marcus H. This is the first conversation I've had with either of them since learning that Camille is pregnant, and I need all the advice I can get.
On this episode I'll talk to you about how we celebrated Camille's birthday and a little bit more about pregnancy symptoms.
On this episode I'll update you on the status of our Cuba trip alternative, Camille's new craving, and a birthday gift... of sorts.
This week is the first of a series of interviews I've done throughout the course of Camille's pregnancy. The first interviewee is Marcus C: my college roommate and father to my [alleged] goddaughters. He's got two of these joints and one on the way. Surely, he knows some things...
This week I'll tell you about my wife's quest for free baby stuff and some things I've learned in the book, "What to Expect When You're Expecting".
This week I'll tell you about our first ultrasound. I feel extremely... unlearned. I'll also tell you about how we broke the news to our parents.
I did some learning during week 7. First, ovarian cysts =/= uterine fibroids. Second, there is a "fun" stage of pregnancy... Right. *Recorded December 2018 Here's a link to the Livia device I discussed: https://mylivia.com/
My wife and I have news, and this show is all about me trying to be as helpful as I can in the midst of it. *Recorded December 2018
