Well… surprise. I'm pregnant with baby number four. After taking about a month and a half off from the podcast because I've been exhausted, nauseous, and generally useless, I'm finally back with a solo episode and a lot to catch you up on.I'm sharing the very unexpected way I found out I was pregnant, why this pregnancy has kicked my ass compared to the others, how we basically survived the summer on The Lion King, and why by your fourth kid you realize you probably don't need 90% of the baby crap people try to sell you. Then I get into something else I've been talking—and admittedly ranting—about for a long time: school.Last year I pissed off quite a few people with my opinions about homework, summer packets, overscheduled kids, and the fact that young children desperately need more time outside and more time to just be kids. I was told to calm down, be patient, and understand that change takes years.Well… some things actually changed.Mac's school implemented TimberNook, homework is now optional, and I want to talk about what I learned from the whole experience—because sometimes being the squeaky wheel works.I also talk about why family dinner matters so much to me, my ongoing hatred of how insane kids' sports culture has become, why I'm considering keeping Cooper home until he's six, and some of the parenting decisions I wish I could go back and do differently. This one is basically a very honest life update on pregnancy, motherhood, school, advocating for your kids, admitting when you got things wrong, and refusing to accept “this is just how we do it” when you genuinely believe something could be better.- - - - - - - - - - -Liz Durham Instagram | WebsiteSubscribe Apple Podcast | SpotifyBeing Different with Liz Durham is a Palm Tree Pod Co. production

This week your besties tell you everything: you'll hear how they ended up trying to conceive at the exact same time, what it actually felt like to be the pregnant one while your best friend was still waiting, and Aubrey's soapbox on the single most infuriating piece of advice anyone gives a woman who is trying. They get into the two books that ran their whole trying to conceive era, Taking Charge of Your Fertility and Expecting Better, and everything they did to prepare for this next chapter. Vic also gets honest about the part nobody warns you about, the miscarriage anxiety in those first weeks, the worst pregnancy symptoms she's had, plus the four affirmations she still says to her baby. No outside investors, just a loan against her car, $2,000 from her mother, and a $10,000 bank loan. That is bootstrapping in its truest form, and it turned into a company whose products are sold in 57,000 stores today. On this episode of Dear FoundHer, host Lindsay Pinchuk talks with Rachel Berliner, co-founder of Amy's Kitchen, about what real founder stories look like once the funding rounds are stripped away. Rachel explains the decision-making behind her very first product and why she chose the best ingredients over the cheapest ones, even when it meant slower profit for the company.Rachel also walks through scaling responsibly, from the moment Publix came on board to the years spent building new plants and working with farmers to expand organic production enough to keep up with Amy's growth. She shares how the company approached sustainable business growth without ever taking on outside investors, and why her advice speaks directly to women business owners building at any stage of their journey.Press play to hear how a bootstrapping mindset turned a kitchen experiment into a private company still owned by her family, and the advice Rachel has for any founder who refuses to give up.Episode Breakdown:00:00 Community update and today's guest introduction03:58 Pregnant, bedridden, and craving real food12:30 First trade show and instant customer demand13:07 Losing their production partner and taking production in-house14:18 Bootstrapping the pot pie machine themselves17:55 The Publix meeting that changed everything22:20 Building new plants and scaling with farmers28:03 Letting go and building a leadership team34:10 57,000 stores and Walmart entry37:11 Advice for women founders just starting outConnect with Rachel Berliner:Follow Amy's Kitchen on Instagram Subscribe to The FoundHer Files Follow Dear FoundHer on Instagram Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm Hosted on Acast. At 41, Rebecca Rumsey was told a concussion had pushed her into early menopause. Her cycle disappeared, her FSH climbed, and her hormones went quiet. Instead of accepting that her chance to become a mother was over, she spent a full year rebuilding her health from the foundation up, and went on to conceive both of her sons naturally in her mid 40s. In this conversation, Rebecca and Michelle talk about why fertility has far more to do with your biology than the number on paper. They get into the real, practical shifts that made the difference, like adding nourishing animal foods back into her diet, supporting her nervous system, protecting her sleep, and paying attention to light and circadian rhythm. They also explore the parts of this journey that rarely get talked about, including the pressure that builds around the fertile window, the loneliness so many women carry, and the quiet confidence it takes to trust your own knowing when the world keeps pointing to your age. If you have been told your numbers are too low or your window has closed, this is a grounded, hopeful reminder that your body is not broken, and that you have more influence over your fertility than you have been led to believe.  Key Takeaways: Your biological age matters more than your chronological age. Fertility responds to how you care for your body, not simply the year you were born. AMH is not the whole story. It fluctuates often and, outside of IVF, says little about your ability to conceive. Cervical mucus, cycle quality, estrogen, and progesterone tell you far more. Hormones are built from cholesterol and healthy fats. For many women, adding nourishing animal foods like eggs, grass fed butter or ghee, and quality meat supports hormone production in a way a depleted diet cannot. Nervous system regulation is the front door. Doing less can feel uncomfortable when you are used to pushing, but calming the stress response is often what allows the body to shift. Light and circadian rhythm influence fertility. Morning sunlight, dimmer evenings, and less blue light at night help lower cortisol, which otherwise suppresses the sex hormones. Sleep is foundational. It supports hormonal health, gut health, mood, and the body's ability to repair and regenerate. Five minutes of meditation a day is enough to begin. The discomfort of sitting still is part of the work, and the brain starts to shift within about a week. Joy and community are real fertility factors. Connection eases isolation and is linked to better outcomes, something research on group support has shown. Confidence and self trust change everything. Living in your truth and releasing the fear of judgment are part of the healing, not separate from it. Guest Bio:  Rebecca Rumsey is a holistic fertility expert helping women over 40 navigate complex fertility challenges using a science based, holistic approach. After being told she was in early menopause at 41, she went on to naturally conceive and have two children at 44 and 46. She now guides women worldwide in optimizing their health and improving their chances of pregnancy, often after being told it was not possible. Nicole Bernard Dawes spent much of her childhood hanging out in her dad's potato chip factory on Cape Cod. She liked his kettle-cooked chips a lot more than the flavorless snacks in her mom's health food store. But when she started her own business, she wanted the best of both worlds: a snack made with natural, organic ingredients…that still tasted good. Nicole launched Late July Snacks in 2003, when most consumers barely knew what “organic” meant. For years, sales limped along. Then, in a moment of crisis, she made a company-saving pivot by launching a brand new product – organic tortilla chips. Within just a few years, Late July grew to over $100M in sales, and Nicole decided to launch a new brand in an even more challenging category: soda. During August, the Motherkind team and I try to practise what we preach by slowing down, taking some time off and making the juggle just a little easier over the summer holidays. So, throughout the month, we're bringing you some of our most listened-to episodes of the year so far. What if becoming a mother didn't make you less ambitious, less capable or less valuable at work, but actually gave you skills that could make you better at your job? This week, we're revisiting one of our most listened-to Motherkind episodes of the year, and it's a conversation I think every working mother needs to hear.I'm joined by Vanessa Kingori, who became the first woman in British Vogue's history to become Publishing Director and found herself navigating pregnancy and new motherhood while leading one of the most powerful media brands in the world.Vanessa shares the extraordinary pressure she felt when she became pregnant in such a senior position, including being told that her pregnancy was exactly why businesses were reluctant to put women into these roles. Rather than hiding it, Vanessa did the opposite: she became deliberately visible and set out to make things easier for the women who would come after her.We talk about why working mothers so often feel they're failing at both work and home, even when they're actually performing brilliantly. Vanessa explains why motherhood can make women better at time management, decision-making, prioritisation and leadership — and why businesses that underestimate mothers are missing some of their greatest talent. We also get practical about the juggle: asking for help, having honest conversations with your partner about the division of labour, building your village and surrounding yourself with people who support the life you're trying to create. And Vanessa shares a powerful reminder for any mother questioning her career, ambition or identity: you don't have to choose one version of yourself. You can be ambitious and deeply present. A leader and a mother. Career-driven and family-focused. As Vanessa puts it, she's a better mother because she works — and a better business leader because she's a mother. This is a conversation about working motherhood, career confidence, ambition, mum guilt and redefining what success looks like after children.

What you need is to understand what your body specifically needs to restore fertility. In this episode of the Nourished Fertility Podcast, I'm sharing a section from a recent live training where I break down the five foundations we use with our clients to support ovulation, healthy cycles, and your body's ability to get and stay pregnant. We'll walk through our five-step approach: Reignite your metabolism Replenish nutrients Regulate your nervous system Repair your gut Restore healthy hormones You'll learn why hormone imbalances are often the final domino to fall, the signs your body may need more support in each of these areas, and why personalized testing can help uncover what's actually keeping your fertility stuck. Whether you're navigating period loss, irregular cycles, PCOS/PMOS, unexplained infertility, low AMH, POI, or preparing for IVF, this episode will help you think beyond simply "fixing your hormones" and start looking at the foundations underneath them. And if you're ready for personalized support, applications for the Nourished Fertility Method, our six-month fertility program, are open. Apply here.

Deep Dive: The Lindsay Clancy Trial - How The Wearable Tech Suggests It Was Her

*DISCLAIMER: Discussion of violence and murder involving small children The last two days of the Lindsay Clancy trial have been pivotal. Days 14 and 15 presented data from her iPhone and wearable technology, information about her state of mind, and devastating testimony from her mother. All these factors answered key questions and presented conflicting information from what was previously shared in court. When reviewing her Apple Watch data, it reveals her heartrate monitoring that abruptly ends and consequently presents a timeline where she could have committed the crimes. Then, when considering her mental state as reflected in confirmed iPhone notes, confusing elements fall into place. That new timeline is described, along with the impact of new information, a rant about the prosecutors, and the lingering questions and caveats that remain. As devastating as that acknowledgment can be, finding out what happened is the entire point of following the trial. What's even clearer is her myriad, desperate attempts to get help and how gravely she was failed. This is an ongoing trial, currently in progress, that has sparked an important discussion about post partum care and mental health, please see resources listed below for support. Gina (perinatal fitness trainer/birth doula) and Roxanne (certified nurse midwife) share their experiences being pregnant while active duty Army - noting it's been about 10 years and policies may have changed! They explain their Army roles—Gina as an MP officer and cultural support team leader attached to all-male special operations units (plus airborne/jump master), and Roxanne as an Army nurse who moved into labor and delivery—then discuss how job demands affect when it's realistic to plan pregnancy, how pregnancy can pull soldiers from key/physical roles, and how dual-military parenting adds major logistics and career pressure. They cover benefits like GI Bill, TRICARE, pensions, and improved parental leave (now 18 weeks for the birthing person and 12 weeks parental leave), plus practical issues like pumping, bottle refusal, and advocating for lactation spaces. They emphasize intentional pregnancy/postpartum fitness to support recovery and readiness, and point listeners to MamasteFit programs and a military discount.Birth Stories with Active Duty Service Members:Danielle's Birth Story: Unmedicated Hospital Birth/Home Birth → Scheduled C-Section for Placenta Previa: https://open.spotify.com/episode/3g79heXnt3TnI52HaAuaiV?si=8E41bjdVSbWJhanYl8AzOgAshley's Birth Story: Pandemic Challenges + Unexpected Precipitous Labor: https://open.spotify.com/episode/2YCe4UiCsjPjILQ4Rnxzdm?si=YW7UO4PxT8uyP2vVfSYS4QAlyssa's Birth Story: Unmedicated Hospital Induction & Postpartum Complications: https://mamastefit.com/alyssas-birth-story-unmedicated-hospital-induction-postpartum-complications/00:00 Welcome and Disclaimer00:46 Meet the Hosts04:07 Gina Army Officer Role09:03 West Point Mixups12:38 Back to Army Pregnancy Timing13:12 Cultural Support Team Missions20:40 Airborne Jumpmaster Stories25:08 Roxanne Army Nurse Life28:31 Labor and Delivery Specialty30:02 Leave and Garrison Differences32:24 Planning Life Events34:19 Pregnancy Work Profiles38:18 Career Timing Reality45:01 Dual Military Challenges50:40 Military Benefits Breakdown55:20 Leave Policies Explained01:00:40 Breastfeeding Logistics01:05:01 PT Tests and P3T01:08:51 Fitness and Readiness01:12:59 Wrap Up and Programs————

Detective Juke O'Keefe and his partner, Crime Marketing Consultant Haylee Navarro, catch the case. The David Alliance TDAgiantSlayer@Gmail.com  Garth Heckman Spud Webb 5'7 In Junior high he went to try out and his coach told him to sit in the stands…. You are too short.  Cut from his Junior year of BB and had to talk his coach into keeping him. He scored 20 points his first game.  No Div. 1 college would even look at him. So he had to play at Midland College- lead them to a national JR league Championship, then got a scholarship to NC state.  Every NBA scout scoffed. They said maybe he could play overseas or if he was lucky he could play with the Harlem Globetrotters. Every NBA team passed on him multiple times… He fell to the fifth round and was drafted by the Detroit pistons… and cut before the season ever started.  He was “lucky” enough to be signed as an undrafted free agent by the Atlanta Hawks… At that time his star teammate Dominique Williams was the Slam dunk Champion… spud entered the contest and Dominique said he thought it was a joke and he would do layups… Spud won with numerous 360 slams, dunks off the backboard and Reverse slam dunks…. People laughed at him! He credits his belief in knowing God gave him that talent for a reason, and that dream for a purpose.    My question today is: How will you respond when people laugh at your dream?       Gen 18:1  And the LORD appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat at the door of his tent in the heat of the day. 2  He lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing in front of him. When he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed himself to the earth 3  and said, “O Lord, if I have found favor in your sight, do not pass by your servant.4  Let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree,5  while I bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh yourselves, and after that you may pass on—since you have come to your servant.” So they said, “Do as you have said.”6  And Abraham went quickly into the tent to Sarah and said, “Quick! Three seahs of fine flour! Knead it, and make cakes.7  And Abraham ran to the herd and took a calf, tender and good, and gave it to a young man, who prepared it quickly.8  Then he took curds and milk and the calf that he had prepared, and set it before them. And he stood by them under the tree while they ate.9  They said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife?” And he said, “She is in the tent.”10  The LORD said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife shall have a son.” And Sarah was listening at the tent door behind him.11  Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in years. The way of women had ceased to be with Sarah.12  So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, “After I am worn out, and my lord is old, shall I have pleasure?”13  The LORD said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?'14  Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son.”15  But Sarah denied it, saying, “I did not laugh,” for she was afraid. He said, “No, but you did laugh.”
