Wilson's Creek was fought on August 10th, 1861 between Union forces under general Nathaniel Lyon and Rebel Forces under General Sterling Price. Wilson's Creek was hard fought and went a long way to setting the path for the state of Missouri in the United States Civil War.

Admiral Jisaburo Ozawa leads an attack on the American Fleet in the Philippine Sea only to have the tables turned by Task Force 58. Japan suffers a blow that it cannot recover from. In order to break the stalemate in Vietnam American forces begin ramping up large scale Search and Destroy Operations to root out Vietcong from the interior of South Vietnam. Operation Attleboro had some success but not as much as was hoped for. This Operation became a template for future operations in Vietnam.
