Sandy Hammel tells an amazing Story that happened to her while guiding a Kona Hawaii Snorkeling Adventure. She and her guests saw a Blainville Beaked Whale slowly being consumed by sharks. Blainville Beaked Whales are an extremely rare site. Few photographs of these whales even exist. In his early diving days back in California, he had an interesting encounter with a Harbor Seal while scuba diving in Stillwater Cove at the Pebble Beach Golf Course. Bryon Kay is the owner of Kona Honu Divers, a dive shop in Kona, Hawaii (also know as the Big Island). Today he describes the benefits of freediving, especially when diving with large animals like: pilot whales, bottlenose dolphins, tiger sharks, & whale sharks off shore in the blue waters of Kona Hawaii. Freediving is a tool every scuba divers should add to their belt. Bryon started freediving after meeting his future wife at Honaunau (a popular dive site in South Kona, Hawaii). After a little bit of a rough start, Bryon learned to be an incredible freediver.
