Sometimes God chases those He has called a long way before we allow Him to take hold of us. On today's show, we will learn of a man who God followed around the world, from North Carolina to Africa, the Arctic Ocean, Hawaii, and He finally got his attention in British Columbia, Canada. The amazing thing is that in the same time that the Holy Spirit caught up to him, he also caught up to his wife, in Kona Hawaii, and all that after 40 years of waiting for them to turn their lives over to Him. Our guest today has lead a very adventuresome life as a professional fisherman who turned professional fisher-of-men. He has guided people to some of the biggest fish in the world and God didn't call him out of that, but instead allowed him to win souls for Christ. Sometimes right from his boat.

How to Overcome and compete after a major injury with endurance athlete Eric Hinman In His Words:  I Share This Life Story 10 days before Ironman Lake Placid, on a routine training ride, my forearms slipped from my aero-bars and I crashed into a ditch. It hurt like hell! A trip to the emergency room ensued. The verdict, no broken bones, 20 stitches in my chin, a mangled and stitched finger, and epic road rash. After, I was left questioning the nurse. Can I swim tomorrow? Can I run tomorrow? Can I bike tomorrow? Can I race Ironman Lake Placid in 10 days? The answers were all “NO”! Disobediently, I rode the next day with a bag on my hand, to avoid getting the stitches wet. I ran the following day, ziplock bag on hand! I swam for the first time one day before Lake Placid (one day after my stitches were taken out). The pain from the water pressure on my finger was nearly unbearable. Should I race? Can I race? Both were questions I asked myself in the days leading up to toeing the water on Mirror Lake Beach where the 2.4 mile swim would commence. I raced. The adrenaline trumped the pain. I crushed it and qualified for the World Championships in Kona Hawaii. I share this story, because it taught me many life lessons. Don't let hardship interrupt your dreams. Find a way. Conquer what you've set out to do. Anything is possible.

SPOILER-ALARM! The chance to race again was priceless. It was an emotional race report as I am still humbly and gracely trying to take in the fact that my knee held up for the whole Ironman only 6 month after the reconstruction of my knee. It is a 12 month recovery, so I still have a way to go, but moving it and competing in the race was so good for my soul. I really had to tap into the warrior mentality that I have been learning and teaching my team to practice. I share how I executed my race just like I planned, and all the beautiful lessons I learned on my Ironman Kona.To learn more about being coached and join team elevate as an ambassador, DM  me on instagram or check out kamibanks.com

Dropping In to Power: Personal stories of the transformational power of surfing from women of all levels, all ages, all over.

McKenzie Clark is a self-made waterwoman who headed to Kona on her own at the tender age of 18--with a mission. Her life since has been a testimonial of courage, adventure, humility, and badassery. From solo adventures around the world with a backpack and a Lonely Planet book, to surviving a shark attack, to getting her captain's license in her 40s, Mckenzie has consistently modeled a life unconstrained by fear. An accomplished surfer, she shares deeply about her victories and vulnerabilities in the water. Her willingness to cop to her own competitiveness took us into the deepest conversation we've had on the pod about etiquette, hierarchies, what is really going on in the lineup, and what the future might hold as more women enter the lineup. Her adventures are so inspiring, don't be surprised if you are booking your next, or first, surf trip before you even finish the episode!

Kathleen from Plenty of Sunshine Travel met with Cindy from Norwegian Cruise Line for this week's episode. . We took a look at the protocols in place to keep you healthy while at Sea. We also looked at the group space I have with NCL. . NCL Prima has so many "Firsts" First at sea Go-Carts - The go-karts can hit speeds of up to 30 miles-per-hour or 50 kilometres-per-hour. First at the world's first free-fall dry slide that you can experience the highest G-force of any comparable experience in the cruise industry. You can also experience the first three-story cruise ship theatre that can be transformed into a Vegas-style nightclub with an expansive dance floor for those of you who love the nightlife. If you are craving a waterslide how about the cruise line's first Tidal Wave waterslide? With this and so much more, you will love NCL Prima! , I have group space on the following itineraries . The Hawaiian Islands are best seen by The Pride of America! You start in Honolulu and go to Kahului Maui, Hilo Hawaii, Kona Hawaii, Nawiliwili Kaua'i and return to Honolulu Oahu. The Pride of America is the only ship that starts and ends in Hawaii. This is the perfect way to see Hawaii without having 4 sea days back to back because you are departing from the mainland. . One of the other itineraries I have locked in group pricing and space on is a Greek islands itinerary. This itinerary starts in Athens and has stops in Rhodes, Bodrum, Mykonos, Paros, Crete, Santorini and returns to Athens. On Norwegian Jade. . We also have blocked group space (rates) on 2 Caribbean itineraries, an Eastern and a Western. We depart from Miami and visit Puerto Plata Dominican Republic, St. Thomas US Virgin Islands, Tortola US Virgin Islands, Great Stirrup Cay Bahamas and then we return the Miami. This is on NCL Escape. . Our western Caribbean itinerary Miami, Roatan Bay Islands, Harvest Caye Belize, Costa Maya Mexico, Cozumel Mexico and back to Miami. This is on NCL Bliss. . In my conversation today I speak with a long time friend and athlete, Jen Keith, on pursuing endurance. In 2009, Jen and I were both introduced to triathlon and raced our first ever half-ironman triathlon in Wilmington North Carolina. We were two absolute goobers who had no idea what we were doing, but had willpower like none other to finish with our heads high. Jen is as competitive as they come and has gone on to compete in many different races and has even gone on to compete at in the World Championship ironman event in Kona Hawaii. She qualified again and plans to be back in Hawaii this fall to give Kona all she's got. Thankfully, this race is televised. I can't wait to watch her attack this brutal course. Endurance racing is humbling. Jen and I both agree that training for this sport has made us more inspired, disciplined and resilient human beings. I hope that this conversation both inspires and encourages you in whatever it is that you're facing today. Hello everyone and welcome back. In this episode, Patrick welcomes Eric McELVenny. Eric is an endurance athlete living in Pittsburg, PA. He earned a mechanical engineering degree from the United States Naval Academy while preparing for his service as a Marine Corps Infantry Officer. Eric deployed three times as a Marine and on his final tour, and incredible experience in the Helmand Province, Afghanistan, left him wounded after stepping on an IED. Eric suffered the amputation of his right leg below the knee, a life-changing opportunity that began his next journey. Faced with a physical challenge and an uncertain future, Eric made a promise to himself to run an Ironman Triathlon. On his journey from the hosptial bed in Southern California to the finish line in Kona Hawaii, he realized that the challenge and adversity he was up against and the techniques he used to reach the finish line could be used against the challenges we all entertain. When not training, racing and delivering inspiration Eric can be found with his wife, Rachel and three children. A great show with a true inspiration and hero.
