This week, radio & television legend and Country Music Hall of Fame member Grandpa Jones with his wife, Grand Old Opry star Ramona and family recorded live at the Ozark Folk Center State Park. Also, interviews and a live performance from the Jones Family. Aubrey Atwater presents “The Mother of Folk Music” Jean Ritchie, and Mark Jones offers an archival recording of Ozark original, Jim Bullard. Grandpa Jones was a performer during the golden age of radio, and later found success as a cast member on the syndicated television program, “Hee Haw.” After years of living near Nashville, TN, Grandpa moved to Mountain View, Arkansas in the early 1980's. Along with his wife Ramona, they ran the Grandpa Jones Dinner Theater. The theater employed many musicians, many of whom are still around the Ozarks today including their son Mark and guitarist Danny Dozier. We'll dig deep into the archives this week for a set of music, featuring some of Grandpa's finest performances at Ozark Folk Center State Park. “The Jones Family Band” features a cast of all-star musicians, including Alisa and Mark Jones. This performance from the Jones Family Band was the last one recorded at the Ozark Folk Center State Park before Ramona passed in late 2015. Renowned folk musician Aubrey Atwater profiles influential folk music icons Jean Ritchie and the Ritchie Family, as well as explores the traditional Appalachian music and dance that the Ritchie Family helped to perpetuate into the modern American folk lexicon. This episode focuses on Jean Ritchie as a songwriter, and features Jean's performance of her original song “Black Water.” Mark Jones' “From the Vault” segment features a rare recording of Ozark original Jim Bullard, performing the traditional song “Glory Land,” from the Ozark Folk Center State Park archives.

Philip Murphy, Catchment Coordinator for the River Blackwater, joins Stuart Childs on this week's Dairy Edge to discuss applying water quality and addressing it. Philip explains that his role focuses on addressing agricultural pressures on water quality across the wider Blackwater catchment, beyond the already targeted high-priority areas, through providing clear, consistent advice to farmers and advisors, helping to raise awareness where one-to-one guidance is not currently available. He outlines how targeted areas are selected using EPA monitoring data and highlights the difference between nitrogen and phosphorus impacts, noting phosphorus affects rivers while nitrogen impacts in the estuaries. Finally, Philip emphasises that improvements take time, often years, but farmers are already doing positive work. His key message is for farmers to engage with advisors, consider schemes like Farming for Water, and continue adopting practical, farm-specific measures to protect local water quality.

31 marca 2004 roku. Na ulicach irackiego miasta Faludża dwa samochody należące do agencji Blackwater wpadają w zasadzkę irackich rebeliantów. W ostrzale ginie czterech pracowników firmy ochroniarskiej. Zdjęcia ich zwłok docierają do Stanów Zjednoczonych i Waszyngton podejmuje decyzję o wysłaniu do Faludży wojsk, które mają przejąć kontrolę nad miastem. W założeniu ma to być błyskawiczna operacja. Bitwa jednak potrwa kilka miesięcy i stanie się obiektem wielu kontrowersji. Obie strony poniosą spore straty a żołnierze amerykańscy zostaną oskarżani o użycie w walce broni masowego rażenia i popełnienie zbrodni wojennych.

No matter the fishing and conditions, the 2025 season will go down in memory as the year of the worst ever fish kill in the history of the State, which is certainly saying something based on this country's approach to pollution, water quality and environmental protection. We've discussed fish kills on this show before, highlighting the fact that when guilty verdicts and fines are handed down, the consequences are risible anyway. But for this week's episode we wanted to focus on the questionable practice in the Blackwater investigation and why the current legislation is not fit for purpose. Conor Arnold of the Upper Bridgetown Salmon Fishery on the Blackwater has been to the forefront during this crisis, spending untold hours highlighting the issue and trying to get to the bottom of it as best as he can. Conor also spoke as an invited witness at last week's Oireachtas Committee hearing into the Blackwater fish kill and a day later he spoke to us about the hearing to tell us what arose from it. Send us a textOnes Ready sits down with Morgan Lerette —author of Guns, Girls, and Greed—to talk about life as a Blackwater mercenary during the chaos of Iraq and Afghanistan. From getting recruited as a broke Air Guard kid, to standing on flight lines wondering if forklifts win Bronze Stars, to suddenly pulling convoys through Route Irish with Navy SEALs and Rangers, Morgan lays it all out: the absurd, the grim, and the downright sketchy. We dive into the wild days of unarmored Peugeots with body armor for window panels, hooker stories from Jordan, and the not-so-fun reality of PMCs running missions with zero backup. And just when you're laughing at zebra-striped POW underwear, Morgan drops the hammer on the modern PMC industry moving kids across the border. Donate (no account necessary) | Subscribe (account required) Join Bryan Dean Wright, former CIA Operations Officer, as he dives into today's top stories shaping America and the world. In this episode of The Wright Report, we cover the heartbreaking Catholic school shooting in Minneapolis, a wave of swatting attacks targeting U.S. colleges, and global updates from Iran, Greenland, Vietnam, and West Africa. From domestic terror and cultural battles at home to mineral wars and Islamist violence abroad, today's brief delivers the facts shaping America's future. Minneapolis Catholic School Shooting: A 23-year-old man who identified as transgender opened fire outside a Catholic school, killing two children and injuring 17 others. In his manifesto he wrote, “I do it to please myself… I do it because I am sick.” The school's priest begged, “I ask you to — please — pray,” while Democrats like Jen Psaki shot back, “Prayer is not freaking enough.” Bryan calls Psaki's remarks “a demand of the evil and wicked” and links the shooter's instability to cross-sex hormones, THC use, and the broader dangers of experimental “gender affirming care.” Swatting Attacks Target U.S. Colleges: Universities from South Carolina to Colorado were hit by fake active-shooter calls, prompting dangerous police raids. Wired identifies the culprits as an online group called Purgatory, who brag they are “nihilistic” and do it for fun and cash. Bryan argues the crime warrants capital punishment: “You rip this stuff and these people out by the root.” Foreign Spies Captured Bolton's Emails: The New York Times confirms that a foreign intelligence service intercepted classified emails John Bolton sent to his wife and daughter from an unsecured system. Democrats call Trump's DOJ “fascist,” but Bryan insists, “Had I done what John Bolton did, I would be in prison a long time ago.” Iran's Nuclear Stockpile Neutralized: Satellite images confirm Trump's Operation Midnight Hammer left 900 pounds of enriched uranium entombed at Isfahan. The IAEA backs the finding, despite Iran threatening its director Rafael Grossi with death. Bryan says the news proves firing DIA chief Jeffrey Kruse for downplaying the strike was “a good clean-out of the Deep State.” American Operatives Stir Trouble in Greenland: The Wall Street Journal reports suspected Trump-linked contractors are recruiting Greenlanders for separatist movements, sparking tensions with Denmark. Bryan suspects, “These guys are more like Erik Prince's Blackwater than CIA professionals — sloppy, but maybe effective.” China Moves to Corner Vietnam's Tungsten Supply: Reuters reveals Chinese firms are secretly bidding for Vietnam's tungsten mines through front companies. With the U.S. sourcing a quarter of its tungsten from Vietnam, Bryan warns this could leave America “utterly dependent” on Beijing for another critical mineral. Throwing Feathers in the Wind is a new book out by Richard Gorodecky, a fly angler who moved full time to Ireland five years ago to be closer to the river fishing that he loves so much. Richard was a long-time visitor to these shores fishing all over the country before settling in south Munster but his obsession with fly fishing has also seen him fish all over the world. Throwing Feathers in the Wind is his first collection of essays detailing his fishing in Ireland and further afield, and is, like so many good fishing books, more about the why than anything else.To find out more and to buy a copy of Richard's book, go to:Gorodecky.com Plus, Tom and Daire also discuss the dire fish kill on the Blackwater and ask when will it be the tipping point to stop further fish kills?Keep up to date with all the latest Ireland on the Fly on https://www.IrelandontheFly.com and get regular updates on https://Instagram.com/IrelandontheFly.
Hello one and all, and welcome back to another episode of Surviving the Horror! This month Josh and Colin got the chance to sit down and play a horror franchise that has somehow eluded them for years at this point, that being Fatal Frame. Fatal Frame is a franchise that you hear about in the same breaths as things like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and other staples of the genre. Taking place firmly in the realm of Japan , and touching regularly on things like Japanese folklore and rituals, Fatal Frame aims to try something different in survival horror. The problem is that many of these titles (Fatal Frame 1-3 specifically) are locked on older hardware and not accessible on modern day consoles. As a result, Josh and Colin decided to make their first foray into the franchise with Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse. Originally released exclusively in Japan for the Wii in 2008, Mask of the Lunar Eclipse finally received its remaster and port to the West in 2023, selling 120,000 copies in just a few short weeks on the market. While that may not sound like much, when you consider that the franchise as a whole across all five games only has 1.3 million units sold, the success of recent games like Mask of the Lunar Eclipse and Maiden of Blackwater becomes more apparent. Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is also the only game in the franchise to stand alone in its story elements, making it a great jumping in point for newcomers to the series like us. Mask of the Lunar Eclipse tells the tale of (primarily) three characters in Misaki, Ruka, and Choshiro as they explore the Haibara Infirmary on Rougetsu Isle. Rougetsu Isle is known for its ancient tradition of performing the Rougetsu Kagura, a ritual in which the liminal space between the the souls of the living and dead is opened in conjunction with the phases of the moon. Several years ago, this ritual goes wrong (who could have guessed) and The Day of Tranquility ensues; resulting in the loss of several lives, and the loss of our main characters' memories. It's our job then as Misaki, Ruka, and Choshiro to return to Rougetsu Isle and try to unravel the mystery of what happened, restore our memories, and ultimately free the souls of those trapped between the realm of the living and the dead. Thank you for listening, and we hope you enjoy! Next month's episode will be on a smaller 2D pixelated horror game called Dead of Darkness. Thanks again!

The early days of the Global War on Terror, the U.S. Government was heavily dependent on Private Military companies. The Defense Department leaned on them for support, the State Department relied on them for protection, and the Justice Department attacked them for easy virtue signaling. Today we talk to Nick Slatten, a member of the Blackwater Tactical Support Team Raven 23. He moved from the 82nd Airborne unit to contracting work just in time for the 2007 troop surge, and just in time to become the central scapegoat of political prosecution designed to appease international journalists. It took three trials before the Obama administration finally convicted him, and he spent six years in prison before Trump finally pardoned him, but he is telling his story now in hopes of raising awareness about others who have been prosecuted and punished for political expediency. https://www.amazon.com/Raven-23-Department-Betrayed-American/dp/0063370603

Up to 30,000 trout, salmon, and eels have died along a 30-kilometre stretch, with birds and other wildlife now showing signs of illness. As anglers raise the alarm, experts await test results to uncover what's poisoning one of the country's most important rivers. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Over the past few months, classified document releases related to Russiagate, the deep state, and other scandals have shown us just how frightening the government can be. But as Gina Keating has proven, it is NOT invincible. Gina — an investigative journalist and lifelong liberal — was forced to question everything she knew when she discovered that the DOJ under Obama, at the urging of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, was wrongfully prosecuting four Blackwater contractors for allegedly staging a massacre at Nisour Square in Baghdad, Iraq. Gina joins Glenn Beck to tell the story of these men, as documented in her new book, “Raven 23: How the Department of Justice Betrayed American Heroes.” She and Glenn discuss why the government really prosecuted these men, how Wikileaks helped expose the truth, and how Pete Hegseth helped convince President Trump to pardon them. But perhaps just as concerning was the media's response to this story. Gina describes how her fellow journalists wouldn't touch the case on “moral” grounds and provides solutions to help get partisan politics out of journalism. Morgan Lerette didn't grow up dreaming about being a private military contractor. Like a lot of veterans, one thing led to another. He got pulled into Blackwater during the height of the Iraq War, rolling through Baghdad with no real rules of engagement, no clear mission beyond keeping people alive, and making more money than he ever thought possible. In this episode, Morgan talks openly about what contracting was really like. Driving armored SUVs through war zones, making split-second decisions, and dealing with the consequences afterward. He explains how contractors operated alongside the military, why so many signed up, and how the people of Iraq saw it all from their side. We also get into what happened after he left that world. Morgan shares what helped him figure out the next steps after war and contracting, how he finally built a steady life, and what advice he has for vets who are trying to do the same. This is the kind of honest conversation you only get from someone who's actually been there. Today I'm speaking with Erik Prince — former Navy SEAL, founder of Blackwater, and now creator of the Unplugged phone — about the chaos in the Middle East, the rise of private military forces, and what's really driving conflict between Iran, Israel, and the West. We dig into the role of proxy wars, failed regime change, and the deeper forces behind U.S. foreign policy. But it's not just about war — we explore how technology is shaping the future of governance, the danger of surveillance capitalism, and why Erik believes decentralization, competition, and faith are key to reclaiming freedom in a collapsing empire.
