Fishermen in Costa Rica caught and released a rare orange nurse shark, a sight never recorded before. In another story, a jacket found in a local charity shop contained a mysterious note in Chinese, possibly a boyfriend spell. In South Carolina, a sailboat mysteriously washed ashore, its circumstances yet to be explained. Meanwhile, in a Chicago suburb, firefighters successfully rescued a runaway ball python named Lucius from a commuter train control box. As spring approaches, beach goers in New South Wales may notice the annual program of shark nets being rolled out on the state's popular beaches. But for a long time, marine scientists and environmentalists have voiced concerns about their efficiency and negative impacts on other animals.
