Coach Aaron joins us today as we discuss coming to the gym for the best hour of your day. That's not to say that the time spent with family and friends is any less than, but we want you to feel strong, accomplished, motivated, and happy when you come to the facility and when you leave class, even on the days you don't want to be here.
Coach Amanda dives into finding the BALANCE in your life, with fitness, family, and work along with the balance of working out, eating healthy, and still enjoying time with friends and family. Two days of working out is better than no days of working out. Eating healthy, whole foods 80% of the time and enjoying a meal out with friends and family is better than starving yourself or trying to excessively workout to "make up" for the crummy food you ate over the weekend. Are you happy with where you're at? Are you happy with the balance in your life? If not, what steps can you take to get there, while still maintaining some balance in your life?
"Rx" is the prescribed workout for athletes in a CrossFit class. But that doesn't mean that everyone should be doing the Rx version. In this episode, we talk about properly scaling, or modifying, workouts so that you can challenge yourself but also come back again the next day. No one cares if you Rx the workout. What we care about is that you came in, gave it your best, tried your best to hit the workout stimulus, and can come back again tomorrow to do it all over again. A full month of workouts at 70% will trump sporadic workouts at 100% where you need multiple days to recover before coming back again. Do you agree?
