    Rogowsky, chair of the Board’s Committee on Public Safety and Security, will discuss the proposed departmental consolidation of the county’s public safety and emergency services into a single agency, which has the potential to offer considerable financial and operational benefits for taxpayers. Rogowsky will be joined by Commissioner Anthony Sutton and Deputy Commissioner John Cullen of the County’s Department of Emergency Services and Commissioner George Longworth of the County’s Department of Public Safety.

    March 7, 2011 -- Westchester County Board Chairman Ken Jenkins, Yonkers City Council President & Chair of the Westchester Municipal Officials Association Chuck Lesnick and Ossining Town Assessor and member of the Collaborative Assessment Commission Josette Polzella discuss the current system of property-tax assessments in Westchester and recommendations made by the Collaborative Assessment Commission, saying that every parcel in the county should be reassessed every four years, making property taxes fairer and reducing the number of lawsuits filed to argue tax assessments.
