ACOFAE Podcast Presents: Blood Like Magic: “Heavy is the head that wears the crown.” Do you find it easy to make choices? Do you make the decision in the moment or try to buy time? Voya struggles with making choices for herself and everyone in her extended family knows. Even her ancestors know it, and that is important because Voya is a witch, or almost a witch. She's 16 and part of a community of witches that use blood and intent to perform magic, and it's Voya's turn to meet her ancestor and make a choice. However, when the choice that Voya is given would impact not only her but her entire family forever, what can she do?! Join Laura Marie and Jessica Marie as they dive into the world of genetics, The Feeds, internships, and family expectation and pressure that must be met, or else everyone looses their power forever. The magic is blood and intent, but is it pure or impure? The community knows the difference. Twilight receives a lot of criticism. Romance novels and love triangles, which teenage girls tend to enjoy, are treated as cringe. The problematic but fantastical (& impossible to recreate irl) age gap gets framed as dangerous messaging. While another massively popular series filled with incest and nonconsensual sex earned mainstream fame without the same scrutiny. But unlike many other fantasy bestsellers, Twilight was written by a woman, marketed to young women, and it became a punchline. We don't have to personally love it, but let's not yuck anyone's yum. It's not hurting the culture, and teen girls are allowed little a treat.Includes references to the aptly named ContraPoints episode: "Twilight"ig: @sadgap.podcast / @misandristmemes

ACOFAE Podcast Presents: Crossroads: "The legendary Ms. Britney Spears." It's hard to describe just how famous Britney Spears was in the early 2000s. Before social media, fame was a different machine and nowhere is that more clear than in Crossroads. Filled with everything ACOFAE loves, Crossroads is especially great at showing female friendships throughout the ups and downs of growing up. Yearning for a third place, Crossroads finds three friends going on a roadtrip to audition for a record label. A time, a place, a vibe. Along the way are shenanigans that bond and little side quests that let the other characters shine. A movie that could only be made when it was, Crossroads shows us a mega star at her peak, marketing at it's peak, and one of the last true girlhood movies of the early 2000's. By the ocean.

ACOFAE Podcast Presents: Shadowhunters: Better in Black: "Back with old friends." Longtime listeners will know that December is when Laura Marie and Jessica Marie cover Shadowhunters as their own Yuletide tradition for the pod. Not breaking the tradition, this year ACOFAE is reading Better in Black -- a kickstarter book that got traditionally published. Laura Marie and Jessica Marie are bitches who love Easter Eggs and this book delivers. Featuring an on air live connection made by Jessica Marie, Better in Black is a collection of 10 love stories that feature tried and true couples with a sprinkling of side characters and plot. A book that has whispers and hints (in Laura Marie's opinion) of the yet to be released Wicked Powers, Better in Black seems to be stories that have no bigger consequence to the wider world, until they don't. Until maybe, just maybe that sweetness may come into play. Join ACOFAE as they theorize (YES! REALLY!) on the end of the Shadowhunters and they gush and tear up to these stories and the updates on the lives of our fictional friends. ACOFAE Podcast Proudly Presents: Showgirls x The Life of a Showgirl: "Men are usually the villain." If you've been a long time listener then you know that getting the movie Showgirls on the pod is a WIN for Laura Marie. Pairing it with a discussion about Taylor Swift's new album release, The Life of a Showgirl, is a match made in heaven for Jessica Marie! This being Jessica Marie's very first NC-17 film is a win for everyone and ACOFAE has so much to say. Kicking off the discussion with a full breakdown of the movie Showgirls, ACOFAE is in awe of the production. Sparking discussions about shedding child star image, internalized misogyny, and sexual freedom, the movie Showgirls is a spectacle for the eyes and for the brain. Taylor's discussion focuses on how women can't do anything right in the eyes of society, and that it seems to be that pain is rewarded instead of joy - and that joy makes women talentless. Join ACOFAE as they explore all of the storylines in both the movie and the album, and come to the conclusion that women just can't be happy without criticism. 177: Female Orgasm Tips No One Taught You (Men take notes) with Abigail from Rat Girls PodcastFemale pleasure is rarely taught honestly. In this episode, we break down why so many women fake orgasms and how to have real, satisfying orgasms using practical pleasure tips, communication, and body awareness. What if the reason you're not orgasming (or your partner isn't) has nothing to do with your body being “broken”… and everything to do with what no one ever taught you?In this deliciously honest, funny, and wildly validating episode, I sit down with Rat Girl Podcast to talk about how to actually orgasm with a vulva — whether you're solo, partnered, married, dating, ADHD, curious, or just tired of faking it.We're talking real pleasure, not porn-based performance sex.We break down why:• “Jackhammering” isn't doing what you think it's doing• Faking orgasms keeps everyone stuck (and how to stop)• The so-called “tight V” myth is actually about arousal• Why vulvas literally grow, expand, and need warming up• The orgasm gap is real — and fixable• Vibrators don't make partners “inferior” (they make sex better)• Most people orgasm more with clit stimulation and toys• There is MORE than one way to orgasm (and no, liquid isn't required)• Smut books, fantasy, and erotic storytelling might be your secret weapon• ADHD sex struggles are normal — and there are simple ways to work with them• Scheduling sex doesn't kill the spark — avoiding pleasure doesWe also cover:• How to ask for more foreplay without crushing your partner's ego (the compliment sandwich

Does OnlyFans empower or exploit its content creators? Do subscribers make real connections? Nick Pell separates fact from fantasy on Skeptical Sunday.Welcome to Skeptical Sunday, a special edition of The Jordan Harbinger Show where Jordan and a guest break down a topic that you may have never thought about, open things up, and debunk common misconceptions. This time around, we're joined by writer and researcher Nick Pell!Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1233On This Week's Skeptical Sunday:Just the top one percent of OnlyFans creators earn a third of all revenue, while median earnings are just $150/month or less — far from the sensational headlines promising six-figure incomes that attract most new creators to the platform. Most user interactions aren't genuine — about 70% of platform revenue comes from messaging, but creators often outsource chats to overseas workers or use AI chatbots, meaning subscribers aren't getting the authentic connection they're paying for.Creating OnlyFans content creates serious long-term career risks. The digital footprint is permanent, making future employment difficult, and many creators face doxxing, stalking, harassment, and mental health issues including depression and PTSD.The platform harbors exploitation and trafficking concerns. Investigations have documented patterns of coercion, "e-pimping," underage content, and cases where creators are controlled by abusive partners or managers who take their earnings. Before pursuing any gig economy opportunity, research the realistic earnings, hidden costs, and long-term consequences. Ask yourself if the work aligns with your values and future goals, not just immediate financial needs.Connect with Jordan on Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
