Malala Yousafzai was only fourteen years old when she was targeted by the Taliban as a threat to their mysogynistic ideologies.  Living through an assassination attempt on her life, Malala went on to model power, peace, poise and fearlessness in ways that we could do well to learn from.   In this episode, we're joined by Rev. Erin Wathen, Senior Minister of Saint Andrew Christian Church in Olathe, KS, and author of the brand new book, Persist and Resist: Faith and the Fight for Equality.  Erin will talk about those people who are inspiring her in the ways of resistance and persistence, from teachers on strike to Malala to men who volunteer to lead Sunday School classes.  Shanna and Erin talk a little more about what it's like to be Senior Ministers who are also women, and share some really practical amazing "So what" thoughts for those who want to take the fight for gender equality seriously. We'll release the full interview with Erin next Monday.  What you hear here is but a foretaste of the amazing kick-ass awesomeness that she is, and that we got to share in with her.   Oh yeah, and you won't want to miss our third co-host on this episode!  It's a surprise... #resistandpersist  #womanifesto
