In this episode of Precious Cargo, Precious Styles Bullard discusses the concept of the 'waiting game' and emphasizes the importance of consistency in manifesting desires. She shares personal anecdotes and insights on how to create one's own reality through persistent actions and a positive mindset. The conversation also touches on the significance of gratitude and enjoying the journey rather than fixating solely on the destination.Key Takeaways:The waiting game is about being consistent, not just waiting.Persisting in your desires means being consistent in your actions.One-time efforts do not yield lasting results; consistency is key.Creating your own reality involves actively shaping your experiences.Gratitude plays a crucial role in the journey of personal growth. The journey itself is where the fun and learning happen. You must enjoy the process, not just focus on the end goal.Manifestation requires daily commitment and lifestyle changes.Surround yourself with supportive people who help you grow.Every experience along the way is an opportunity for gratitude.Timestamps:00:00 The Waiting Game: An Introduction04:50 Consistency Over Persistence09:54 Creating Your Own Reality17:08 The Journey is the Reward

Hosted by Dr. Sarah Hensley, Specialized Social Psychologist, Attachment Theory Expert, and Founder & CEO of The Dating Decoder with Co-host Raina Butcher, Owner/CEO of Joyful Consulting, LLC. Welcome to "The Love Doc Podcast" where Host Dr. Sarah Hensley and her co-host Raina Butcher dive deep into the intricacies of love, attraction, attachment, relationships, and self-awareness. Dr. Hensley brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to help listeners navigate the complexities of modern romance. In each episode, Dr. Hensley tackles burning questions about love, relationships, and the mind's complexities, drawing from her psychological research, real-life experiences, and her own individual expertise, to provide insightful perspectives and practical advice. In Episode 43 of “The Love Doc” podcast, titled “If They Don't Want to Be Kept, Don't Keep 'Em,” Dr. Hensley delves into the common question she receives from clients: “How do I get my partner to [fill in the blank]?” She emphasizes that attempting to change a partner is futile and that true emotional security comes from recognizing that the only person one can change is oneself.Key Discussion Points:1. Losing Oneself in the Effort to Change a Partner:She warns against the dangers of contorting oneself to induce change in a partner, often leading to a loss of personal identity and autonomy. This behavior can result in emotional exhaustion and dissatisfaction.2. The Fallacy of Loving Someone Enough to Change Them:Dr. Hensley addresses the misconception that one can love someone into changing. She asserts that change must come from within an individual who is ready and willing; external pressure is ineffective and can be detrimental.3. Coercion vs. Genuine Expression of Love:Attempting to force or manipulate a partner into meeting one's needs is not a true expression of love. Authentic love respects autonomy and encourages voluntary, mutual effort in the relationship.4. Recognizing When a Partner Is Not Capable of Commitment:Dr. Hensley emphasizes the importance of acknowledging when a partner consistently demonstrates an inability or unwillingness to commit. Persisting in such situations leads to frustration and hinders personal growth.Subconscious Manipulation and Emotional Exhaustion:The episode delves into the subconscious manipulation involved in trying to retain a partner who is unwilling or unable to meet one's needs. This dynamic leads to emotional exhaustion and disrupts the nervous system, fostering dysfunction and instability in the relationship.Attachment Styles and the Push-Pull Dynamic:Dr. Hensley explores attachment styles, particularly the fearful-avoidant and dismissive-avoidant pairings, where push-pull dynamics are prevalent:• Fearful-Avoidant Attachment: Characterized by a desire for intimacy coupled with a fear of getting hurt, leading to ambivalence and mistrust in relationships.• Dismissive-Avoidant Attachment: Marked by a preference for independence and discomfort with closeness, resulting in emotional distance and a tendency to withdraw from partners. When individuals with these attachment styles pair together, a cyclical pattern of pursuing and distancing ensues, creating instability and dissatisfaction.Advice for Breaking the Cycle:Towards the end of the episode, Dr. Hensley offers guidance for those trapped in unfulfilling dynamics:• Toxic Hope: Recognize and release the unrealistic expectation that a partner will change, which perpetuates unhealthy attachment and prolongs suffering.• Radical Acceptance: Embrace the reality of the situation without resistance, acknowledging that one cannot control or change another's behavior. These concepts and more are elaborated upon in her new breakup course (now live and ready for purchse), designed to help individuals cultivate inner safety and trust in their decision-making, empowering them to leave relationships that do not serve their well-being.Visit Dr. Hensley's website at thelovedoc.com (now active) Tune in to "The Love Doc Podcast" every Tuesday morning for candid conversations, expert guidance, and a deeper understanding of love and relationships in the modern world. The interview places important context on understanding the realities of indefinite detention and the inherent injustice of Guantánamo Bay as persistent across both Democratic and Republic administrations in the US. One of the things I think we do well with on this podcast is addressing the long game of writing. It's not just about writing a good book or pitching one or selling one, but about the work of doing it over and over again, of succeeding and failing, of PERSISTING. That's why I love this conversation with Tiffany Yates Martin, who is an author herself under the penname, Phoebe Fox, but who also for 30 years has been a developmental editor working with major publishers and New York Times, Washington Post, and USA Today bestselling and award-winning authors. She is a respected leader in the writing education field and my friend and colleague. Her new book, The Intuitive Author: How to Grow and Sustain a Happier Writing Career addresses the long sweep of a writing career. And I think there's a lot for all of us to learn from this book and this conversation. You can find Tiffany via her website, on Instagram at @tiffanyyatesmartin, or check out her books Intuitive Editing and The Intuitive Author. This is a public episode. In this episode of the Psychedelic Medicine Podcast, Keith Kurlander, MA, LPC, joins to discuss the important topic of integration practices for challenging psychedelic experiences. Keith is the Co-Founder of the Integrative Psychiatry Institute, the largest professional education company specializing in integrative mental health and psychedelic therapy. In this conversation, Keith begins by exploring the different types of challenging psychedelic experiences and various lingering effects one may experience following a difficult psychedelic journey. He discusses these from a trauma-informed perspective, explaining how a traumatized nervous system can lead to dissociation on the other side of an intense ego-disrupting experience. Keith also shares practices and insights from internal family systems (IFS) for integrating challenging psychedelic experiences. In closing, he emphasizes that psychedelics are not lazer-targeted therapies, so they do carry inherent risks, but through effective integration practices, patients can make healthy meaning out of even negative experiences.    In this episode you'll hear: Lingering issues with ego fragmentation and connections to the dissociative disorder spectrum Persisting psychotic disorders following psychedelic experiences The difference between CPTSD and PTSD Uncovering repressed traumatic memories during psychedelic journeys Trauma stemming from difficult psychedelic experiences  Challenging spiritual experiences   Quotes: “The concept of pendulation [is] that we can be more flexible to ease our way into these overwhelming states. So once we are totally overwhelmed, we have to work our way back out gracefully, but as we are doing that, you get a gem as you are coming back… you learn something as you are coming out of that state.” [18:02] “If people have a psychotic disorder that emerged after their psychedelic use, you need a psychiatrist at that point… If it's really a psychotic emergence, whether a previous psychotic disorder got triggered or whatever, you need a psychiatrist to work with you on that.” [20:07] “I believe all these mental health conditions have a trauma process underneath them. I don't know how you isolate a trauma process from a mental health condition” [25:30] “It's about working with a person's meaning-making structure: is the meaning they're making creating more psychological flexibility or less psychological flexibility? That's a really important question to hold as a therapist because people will make all kinds of meaning up from these experiences but if they're creating meaning that's creating more rigid structures of how they see the world, then they get disappointed more often.” [34:21]   Links: Psychiatry Institute website Keith's website Keith on Instagram Higher Practice podcast  Previous episode: The Challenging Psychedelic Experiences Project with Jules Evans Psychedelic Medicine Association Porangui

Manifestation is an emotional journey, girl, and the faster you master your emotions, the faster you actualize your desires. After my message two weeks ago (August 11, 2024) on the armor of God, the question came, “can we pray the armor onto someone else?” While the answer is, “not exactly”, the heart of that question is “can our prayers help others against the spiritual attacks of our great enemy and his minions?” The answer to that question is absolutely yes! While each of us needs to welcome the reign of Jesus personally in our lives and then keep giving Him more and more room to vanquish the darkness in us where his reign hasn't been welcomed; our prayers can help each other fight this good fight! Paul instructs us to always keep praying for all of the saints, with all kinds of prayers and requests. He invites us to join in the spiritual battle for the sake of others. One of the ways we join God in transforming the life of someone else is by interceding for them in prayer. To intercede is to stand in the gap for someone. In prayer we intercede by praying prayers for someone they ought to be praying for themselves, but can't or don't know to be praying. For instances, an unbelieving friend doesn't know that he needs his eyes to be opened to the reality of his sin and God's mercy…so we stand in the gap and pray for this on their behalf. We also do this when we ask for a friend to be set freed from an addiction or wound that causes them to limp through life, never experiencing what God has for them. We are called by GOD to do this and we need to persist in it! Persisting and persevering in prayer on behalf of someone else is a vital part of intercession. We keep on praying the love and the blessing of the blood of Jesus over their life. In Jesus' name, we pray against the attacks of Satan on their life. We ask the Holy Spirit to reveal where He's working and what He wants to see accomplished and we pray in agreement with Him. Our prayers for others are powerful and effective and an important way in which God moves their lives. Is there someone for whom you need to be persevering in prayer? I'm praying for you watch this message, as we learn to stand in the gap together in prayer for one another and those we love! Pastor Joe Still

E033: Get Off The Treadmill   "Difficulties strengthen the mind, as labor does the body." – Seneca   In This Episode, We Get Stoic About: There is a psychological theory called the hedonic treadmill that describes the tendency of humans to return to a relatively stable level of happiness or satisfaction following temporary changes in life circumstances. In other words, we can turn the speed of our happiness up or down with our pursuits of pleasure, but in the end, we just keep running in place.     So, how do we do get off of this treadmill? By focusing on eudaimonic pursuits over hedonic ones.        Resources + Links:   Connect with Kristofor | www.kristoforhealey.com Connect with Kristofor on Instagram | @team_healey Subscribe to The Stoic Responder on Substack | https://thestoicresponder.substack.com Subscribe to The Stoic Responder on YouTube | The Stoic Responder Buy your copy of In Valor: 365 Stoic Meditations for First Responders, here! Eudaimonic happiness, which focuses on living a life of virtue and meaning, can provide a deeper and more enduring sense of fulfillment than hedonic happiness. Persisting through difficulty and resisting the allure of short-term gratification can lead to personal growth and a greater level of happiness. Expanding one's comfort zone by embracing challenges and hardships can catalyze a deeper level of happiness and satisfaction in life.   Until Next Time…out of role!

From being a biochemist, owning her own gym, and competing in American Ninja Warrior a total of 4 times, we get to learn all about Angela's incredible story of persistence, resilience and what it truly means to pivot when things are no longer serving you in your life. Learn about pitching yourself and what it means to bring value to not only the business you are getting involved with but also, the audience. Learn how to balance sharing your personal life and struggles on social media to build better connections with your followers and, most importantly, inspire them. Throughout the episode Jess and Angela talk in depth about pivoting and how it's about you evolving as you go through even the toughest setbacks in your life. When we are evolving we get to celebrate ourselves as we release things that no longer serve us to walk faster and fly higher.   Key Takeaways: There is a big misconception where most think that all you have to do is show up on social media as the best version of yourself but having a business is having a business machine. Become valuable to people before asking for things. It's a business! So, ask yourself, what value can you bring to their business? And more importantly what value can you bring to the audience.  Pivoting, changing your mind and living multiple lives is not you failing or quitting but rather it's you evolving.  Episode Resources Official Angela Gargano Website --  https://www.angela-gargano.com Join the 4 Day Content and Messaging Program right here: https://www.jessglazer.com/magneticmessaging Key Timestamps [07:18] – Persisting when life gives you no's; [13:46] – The American Ninja Warrior Journey; [25:43] – How to Pitch Yourself; [33:00] – Permission to Evolve; [42:45] – Don't Create on Social Media, Document on Social Media; Episode Quotes “The only way they are going to see you is by you putting yourself in front of them. In this episode, we're focusing using a positive mindset to navigate any situation, whether it's loss, pain, or trauma. A positive mindset matters because it shapes your experience. Regardless of external circumstances, you always have a choice in your state of being. Challenges like loss and pain are inevitable, but they offer opportunities for growth and self-definition. Your internal state is the one thing you can control, and it dictates your experience. If you're filled with anger, even the best situations can feel negative. Your perception creates your reality. All frequencies exist simultaneously, and you can choose which one to align with. Even in the worst situations, maintaining a high vibration can transform your experience. Focus on your internal state, not just external outcomes. Reflecting on your thoughts and actions can help you understand and shift your state of being. Consider the version of yourself you aspire to be. Think about their thoughts, actions, and perceptions. Embrace their mindset and act in alignment with it. Your state of being is a choice. When you commit to a new frequency, you become that person. This shift is an internal process, not just about achieving external goals. Visualize your future self and embody their thoughts and actions. This practice helps you integrate their mindset into your daily life. It's not about chasing external results but about becoming aligned with your higher self. The deeper you go within, the more fulfilling your experience becomes. Challenges will arise to test your commitment to your new state of being. Persisting through adversity strengthens your belief and transforms your reality. You are a creator and observer of your experience, shaping it with your beliefs and actions. Your mindset filter matters; it determines the frequencies you align with and the reality you create. Your higher self is your true goal, not external achievements. Abundance and success are wonderful, but they must align with your internal state. When you're right within, you can positively impact others and lift them up as well. - Henry ---- Social Media Say hi on TikTok Say Hi on Instagram ---- Email Me henry@vibeabundant.com ---- Email List --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/positive-mindset-podcast/support

Many intellectuals really protested the policies of Mao himself, but not the deprivation of freedom, the systematic persecution, the systematic suppression of religion and freedom as a whole—the entire communist system. So I think that's due to Lin Zhao's religious education. It's very helpful to have both moral courage and spiritual theological resource to make certain social diagnosis, which, I think, was available for Lin Zhao. So I would think of her as this exceptional instance of what Christianity can do—both the moral courage and the spiritual resource to resist totalitarianism." (Peng Yin on politically dissident Lin Zhao)What are the theological assumptions that charge foreign policy? How does theology impact public life abroad? In this episode, theologian Peng Yin (Boston University School of Theology) joins Ryan McAnnally-Linz to discuss the role of theology and religion in Chinese public life—looking at contemporary foreign policy pitting Atheistic Communist China against Democratic Christian America; the moving story of Christian communist political dissident Lin Zhao; and the broader religious, philosophical, and theological influences on Chinese politics.Show NotesReligion's role in Chinese political thought.Thinking beyond Communist Authoritarianism and Christian Nationalism.American foreign policy framed as “good, democratic” US versus “authoritarian, atheistic” China.Chinese Communist party borrowing from Christian UtopianismSole-salvific figure: Not Christ, but the PartyChinese Communism is a belief, not something that is open to verification. Given that we have an ineffective and distracted industry that sleeps through primaries and policy fights, we continue to see demonic policies persist in red states. I go through examples of egregious left-wing Republicans and policies in places like Wyoming, Oklahoma, and South Dakota. But there is an Indiana child custody case that takes the cake. We're joined today by Joe Davis, legal counsel at Becket for the Cox family, who had their child removed from them for three years. What was their crime? The Indiana Department of Child Services accused them of abuse for not calling their son, who suffered from mental illness, by a female name! The state of Indiana is actually siding with the agency against Becket as they take the case to the Supreme Court. We discuss the importance of reforming the due process laws in family court and the need to put an end to this demonic policy in red states.   Learn more about your ad choices.
