So your inlaws keep pestering you about grandbabies. Now what?? Children are a blessing, and because of this, parenthood should not be a decision made on an impulse. In this episode, we talk about things not to ask married couples, such as, "when are you having children?" and "how many children are you having?". These questions should be between a husband, wife, God, and their doctor. As much as everyone means well, this boundary should not be crossed unless the couple first initiates the topic. In the season of waiting, pray for your children and know that though they're not physically with you, they're already in existence with God who lives outside of time. *If the Holy Spirit moves you to do so, I would love for you to give us a rating!* --------------------------------------------- For my coffee lovers, I have a 10% discount for you with code elisetdlove Follow this link to support a wonderful nonprofit doing great things! --------------------------------------------- Thank you for tuning in and listening! In today's episode we have a heart-to-heart about dealing with those family members who would rather you follow their desire for your life over God's will for your life. With the holidays here I know I for one I'm feeling most certain unmotivated to deal with difficult family members. Today's episode is a follow up in sort to the previous episodes around Election Day. With Election Day now over in the USA I wanted to discuss why so many have such a strong loyalty to their political party that they put it above their “allegiance” to God and his people. The title's questions might be simple to answer for some but I ask you to dig deeper and ask yourself this question - does my political believe changes how I treat those around me who might think differently and vote differently from me? *If the Holy Spirit moves you to do so, I would love for you to give us a rating!* --------------------------------------------- Thank you for tuning in and listening! Hi there! In today's episode, we talk about loving the difficult people in our lives. Unfortunately, this issue isn't one specific to our time. We pull from St. Paul's words to remind us of this. The reality of the world we live in is the difficult conversations that must be had. We must remember, we're not called to simply love those who are easier to love. We're called to love all just as God loves us. What does it mean to love those who are difficult to love? Hi there! Welcome to yet another episode! Today's episode is a reflection and a bit of a rant but I hope in some way it might also be a tribute to those of us who grew up with an absentee father. So, to us who society calls girls with daddy issues, may we overcome all that stands in our way to become the best version of who God made us to be. I talk about Will Smith and his wife as well as 8 marriage truths/honesties I wish I had comprehended much better before marriage. I thought it appropriate to talk about the week before my husband and I celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary. Here are the 8 truths that I go more into details about on this podcast episode: 1. Marriage is difficult 2. Marriage takes WORK 3. Marriage is a long term investment. It's not a get rich quick type of deal. 4. You can't be selfish in marriage 5. Marriage is your first baby 6. You will both change 7. The small things become big things 8. I'm backkkkkk! It feels like forever! I'm so sorry that it took me a hot second to upload another episode but here we're! In today's episode, I give you 12 tips and advice that I'm giving myself right now and reminders I have for myself for this moment. If you feel this applies to you, you're NOT alone. I feel like everyone (almost everyone) I follow on my Instagram is pregnant, expecting, or is a new parent. I also feel like so many of my friends are expecting right now. I just told my husband the other day that when we have children, our kids won't have anyone their age to play with! Of course, that's not true, but that's kind of how it feels at times. So, if this episode speaks to you let me know on my Instagram! P.S. I'm praying for those actively trying to get pregnant and or currently pregnant and are experiencing anxiety due to the current times we're in. I love you and I'm sending you so much light and prayer. I see you and I'm praying for you.
Have you seen the new TV show Love is Blind? I'll be honest, I was a little late to the show BUT I did watch it and this is in part my response to the question, is love blind? To answer this age-old question, I dive into 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7. I know, we live in a pretty superficial world that wants us to focus on the perfect attributes of a person and in doing so sometimes missing out on connecting with someone on a humane level through the flaws we share. I hope you find this episode encouraging and reflective. I hope it challenges your perspective on what to expect and look for in a partner and the things to truly look for in relationships. So, tell me, is love blind? --------------------------------------------- Thank you for tuning in and listening! If you want more episodes like this please be sure to subscribe, rate and review! Happy good morning/afternoon/evening, I hope and pray you're in good health. In today's episode, I thought it fitting to talk about babies! I realized that there are so many parents and expecting parents at this time. So, for this episode, I talk about what the Bible has to say about the choice to become a parent. Especially in a world that is broken. The choice to become a parent is such a complex and life-changing decision that should not be taken lightly. I talk about why we still bring innocent children into an uncertain world and what a gift children are. In this episode, I go over a list of questions for parents to be to talk about before their children come. Please, feel free to reach out to me through Instagram for the full list of questions. I hope you find this episode encouraging in these crazy times. ----------------------------------------------------- Thank you for tuning in and listening! Hey guys and gals! This week's episode is all about difficulties in a marriage that leads to grace. I talk about ways God prepared us and continues to prepare us for the big things in our marriage. The topis are sex, counseling, school, scheduling, house buying, children, and more! So come on and take a ride with me while I reflect on our first year of marriage and the things we've had to allow God to work through in us as a couple. I hope that for anyone getting married, already married or have been married for some time, you come to realize that you're not alone and that we all have different journeys. However, it doesn't mean we can't share our experiences to help one another feel less alone. I would also like to say that in this difficult moment, please tune in to EWTN as another way to spend time in the word of God. Please send us any prayer requests that you might have. We would love to pray for you and your loved ones in this time of difficulty. ------------------------------------------ Thank you for tuning in and listening! Hey there! In this episode, I talk about all things Lenten Season in the Catholic church. From what is Lent to what do Catholics eat and not eat during this season of fasting, prayer, and penitence. I talk about giving up something vs. taking on something for the Lenten season and I also talk about why certain things should not be given up at this time. I even talk about why so many of your Facebook friends might be inactive at this moment! Through it all, I reference quotes from AboutCatholic.com. Check out the link below to read it for yourself. Hi there! In today's episode, we talk about the LGBTQIA community, why it seems guys always seem to be blamed for so much, and more. This topic touches on so much that my husband and I feel is not talked about at all/enough. We talk about masculinity and feminity and why this is a topic that is ongoing but needs to be talked about, so here we are starting the dialogue! We dive into male and female roles and how that has changed. Tune in to hear what my husband has to say about this topic! You might be left a little surprised! Join my husband and I as we share with you some of the stories about our upbringing, and how it has shaped us and our expectations coming into our marriage. We talk about our experience going through pre-marriage counseling before our wedding and why we love pre-marriage counseling as well as the things we learned from it. Join in as we dive into the church's work in helping couples live a God-centered marriage. You will laugh and cringe a little (hopefully not too much), but hopefully, you leave with a bit more knowledge from what we share. In this episode, we also talk about some of the myths of marriage.
