The NJD Podcast. A podcast from 2 Professional Drummers/Educators of note, who both have an incessant hunger for 'nuggets' of musical/educational wisdom. Our mission statement is to cut the shit (put simply, we want to get to the core of what makes you learn and grow as a musician and a person). We sprinkle our musings with some carefully chosen guests for your listening pleasure.
A catch up and chat about coordination at Manchester Art Gallery…..With Bryan and I being pretty busy over the last few months we've not had time to grab a brew, let alone record another pod episode. We met up with Gareth Davis from the Music Room Podcast (Garethsounds on Insta) to see how we could make the NJD better, more informative, interactive and well, just better!. Gareth had some great feedback and insights which we are working on, as well as some guests to join us.This ep is more of a catch up and to chat about something which is essential to drummers and interests both of us..See what you think and let us know your thoughts….DM at NJD on Insta.CheersJupp & Bryan…..
So, Bryan and I get into my little space in Manchester to chat, get on the kits and start to look at filming our chats. We've got some amazing ideas in the pipe line and today's episode takes a look at how we (as drummers) can hack our learning process but never overlook the core components of slower for longer is quicker, quicker......We should never cheat the process and end up with..... Hi, Welcome to Episode 7 where Bryan and I have a catch up and chat about how and why each of us teaches, facilitates, learns and generally try and develop and improve both ours and our Students skill sets........
Hi, Another catch up session between Bryan and myself. We managed to grab an hour with a zoom recorder to apologies for any background noise. Thanks so much for your questions....keep them coming. Hope you enjoy this episode and looking forward to seeing you on the next one......
It's been a while!. After we chatted recently, it's been pretty much non stop for the both of us so we decided to do some solo spots. In this episode, Bryan shares his thoughts on the skill of listening............ I'll pop one up soon...... Enjoy.
Another catch up/discussion/nugget riddled episode...... Random stuff to pick apart at your leisure.
Hey, firstly, apologies for the drop outs!!!. Still ironing the kinks out. Really happy with this chat as there was nothing planned. Hope you enjoy it..... Just wanted to add links to both references- Andrew Huberman- https://hubermanlab.com 'Atomic Habits' by James Clear- https://jamesclear.com/atomic-habits
The second episode is myself and Bryan just chatting.....still early days and we're still getting a feel for this podcast 'thing', and still searching for those elusive golden 'nuggets' of info. Hope you enjoy....
This being the first episode, excuse us if it's a little 'raw'. Bryan and I had both just finished a long day teaching and I just hit record to see what happens.... We managed to our 'nugget' (bite sized bit of info that we look for in each episode) pretty early on, so then it was just a case of going wherever we wanted....
