Welcome to our very first Minisode! In an effort to spread the content for y'all a bit more and make it easier to listen, we're starting weekly Minisodes! Often, politics has made its way into our show; whether it is because politics and sports are forever intertwined or because having a platform and NOT speaking about certain issues feels negligent. Either way! We've started some Minisodes throughout the week where I can speak more to those issues outside of your normal Theatre of Sports episodes! In this episode, I talk about gun control, an issue brought to the forefront, yet again, due to recent mass shootings. I give my thoughts on that situation and the circumstances surrounding it, including being honest about the progress I've endeavored to make and some of my not-so-pretty comments in the past. But we round out the episode with a bit of good(ish) news...weed is legal! This doesn't mean that there won't be significant problems moving forward or that the War on Drugs isn't still ravaging communities, but records are being expunged and you can enjoy a blunt on a nice summer's day...as long as you wear your mask.Like, subscribe, leave a review, all the things that people normally tell you to do! Hey friends. Yesterday was an upsetting, infuriating, and depressing day. Truly. Guest Matthew Macaulay and I were scheduled to record an episode of the podcast right as the Capitol was being broken into by domestic terrorists. We both decided that we wouldn't be able to talk about our normal sports/theatre topics on the pod without first working out our feelings together for as long as we needed. We decided to record that discussion. I don't know about you, but sometimes the best way for me to process my feelings/thoughts is to listen to others work their's out and act as a sort of fly-on-the-wall to their conversation. Matt and I are no experts, but we figured we should record and share our discussion with you if helps anyone process their feelings as well.Listen to this episode or don't; I completely understand. I'm not looking to be opportunistic. Just hoping this can help at least a few of you.I love you all and I hope you're safe and you're taking care of those hearts of yours.
