ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Chris had Aditi share her thoughts on the video of Shedeur Sanders ‘miming' in reaction to Dillon Gabriel being named the Browns starting QB. Aditi said Joe Flacco wasn't the entire problem, but at some point, it only made sense for the Browns to make the change. The name Kenny Pickett has popped up again in NFL trade rumors. Aditi said the Browns defense needs help because it is a legit group that is tops in the league in multiple categories. What is the future like for the Bengals after another lifeless effort without Joe Burrow? Aditi thinks it is way too early to write off the Ravens. She thinks Lamar Jackson has been dealing with an injury and it didn't just happen against the Chiefs. Aditi said we need to celebrate every win.
Pat Meyer spoke to the Steelers media yesterday as the offensive line is coming off its best game. Broderick Jones is showing some strides, but there is still a lot of meat on that bone. The Steelers also used more ‘big' personnel in their game plan to attack the Vikings – and it worked. What's up everyone, today we have the pleasure of sitting down with Aditi Uppal, Vice President, Digital Marketing and Demand Generation at Teradata.(00:00) - Intro (01:15) - In this Episode (04:03) - How to Use Customer Conversations to Validate Marketing Data (10:49) - Balancing Quantitative Data with Customer Conversations (16:14) - Gathering Customer Insights From Underrated Feedback Channels (22:00) - Activating Voice of Customer with AI Agents (29:09) - Voice of Customer Martech Examples (34:48) - How to Use Rapid Response Teams in Marketing Ops (39:07) - Building Customer Obsession Into Marketing Culture (43:44) - Why Voice of Customer Works Differently in B2B and B2C (48:26) - Why Life Integration Works Better Than Work Life Balance Summary: Aditi shows how five honest conversations can reshape how you read data, because customer language carries context that numbers miss. She points to overlooked signals like product usage trails, community chatter, sales recordings, and event conversations, then explains how to turn them into action through a simple pipeline of capture, tag, route, track, and activate. Tools like BrightEdge and UserEvidence prove their worth by removing grunt work and delivering usable outputs. The system only works when culture supports it, with rapid response channels, proposals that start with customer problems, and councils that align leaders around real needs. Blend the speed of B2C listening with the discipline of B2B execution, and you build strategies grounded in reality.About AditiAditi Uppal is a data-driven growth leader with over a decade of experience driving digital transformation, product marketing, and go-to-market strategy across India, Canada, and the U.S. She currently serves as Vice President of Digital Marketing and Demand Generation at Teradata, where she leads global strategies that fuel pipeline growth and customer engagement. Throughout her career, Aditi has built scalable marketing systems, launched partner programs delivering double-digit revenue gains, and led multi-million-dollar campaign operations across more than 50 technologies. Recognized as a B2B Revenue Marketing Game Changer, she is known for blending strategy, operations, and technology to create high-performing teams and measurable business impact. How to Use Customer Conversations to Validate Marketing DataDashboards create scale, but they do not always create confidence. Aditi explains that marketers often stop at what the model tells them, without checking whether real people would ever phrase things the same way. Early in her career she spent time talking directly to retailers, truck drivers, and mechanics. Those interactions were messy and slow, filled with handwritten notes, but they gave her words and patterns that no software could generate. That language still shapes how she thinks about campaigns today. She argues that even a small number of conversations can sharpen a marketer's decisions. Five well-chosen interviews can give more clarity than months of chasing analytics dashboards. Once you hear a customer describe a problem in their own terms, the charts you already have feel more trustworthy. As Aditi put it:“If you get an insight that says this is their pain point, it helps so much to hear a customer saying it. The words they use resonate with them in ways marketers' words often do not.”She points out that B2C teams benefit from built-in feedback loops since their channels naturally keep them closer to customers. B2B teams, on the other hand, often hide behind personas and assumptions. Aditi suggests widening the pool by talking to students and early-career professionals who already use enterprise software. They may not be buyers today, but they become decision makers tomorrow. Those conversations cost almost nothing and create raw material more valuable than agency-produced content. She frames the real task as choosing the right method for the right question. If you want to refine messaging, talk to your most active customers. If you want to understand adoption patterns, run reports. If you want to pressure test a product roadmap, combine both and compare the results. Decide upfront what you need and when you need it. Then continue adjusting, because customer understanding is not a one-time project, it is an ongoing discipline.Key takeaway: Use customer conversations as a validation layer for your data. Pair five direct interviews with your dashboards, and you gain language, context, and trust that numbers alone cannot provide. Always define why you need an insight, then pick the method that gets you there fastest. That way you can build messaging, campaigns, and roadmaps grounded in reality rather than in assumptions.Balancing Quantitative Data with Customer ConversationsMarketers keep adding dashboards, yet confidence in the numbers rarely grows. Aditi argues that a few customer conversations often do more to build certainty than a warehouse of metrics. Early in her career she spent long days interviewing retailers, truck drivers, and mechanics. She filled notebooks with their words, then worked through the mess to find common threads. The process was slow, but it created clarity that still guides her perspective today.“You do not need hundreds of those conversations. You just need five, and you will come out so much more confident in the data you are looking at.”That perspective challenges a common assumption in B2B marketing. Models can predict buying intent, but they cannot capture the urgency or tone that customers bring to their own words. Dashboards may flag data scientists as target buyers, yet when you sit with an aspiring data scientist, you hear frustrations and motivations that algorithms miss. Real language often carries sharper meaning than the polished words marketers invent for campaigns.Aditi warns that relying only on quantitative signals pushes teams into a self-referential loop. Marketers build strategies based on metrics, then describe those strategies in their own buzzwords. Direct conversations break that loop. Even five interviews can ground your messaging, highlight gaps in the data, and validate where models are directionally right. B2C teams often benefit from tighter feedback loops through customer-facing channels. B2B teams need to create their own versions of those loops by talking to users directly, including students and early-career practitioners who represent the next generation of decision makers.Every stage of marketing benefits from this practice. Roadmaps become sharper, content becomes more resonant, and campaign ideas carry more weight when tested against real voices. Customer interviews cost little compared to polished content campaigns, yet they create a foundation of confidence that technology alone cannot replicate.Key takeaway: Five direct customer conversations can build more confidence than a room full of dashboards. Capture the exact words your buyers use, compare them with your data models, and use both inputs together. That way you can validate your metrics, sharpen your messaging, and trust that your strategy connects with the people who matter most.Gathering Customer Insights From Underrated Feedback ChannelsMarketers love surveys. They love sending out NPS links, post-purchase forms, and satisfaction checkboxes that make dashboards look busy. Aditi is blunt about the limits of this ritual. A buying committee has users, influencers, and decision makers. Each group has different needs, and you cannot lump them into a single “customer voice.” If you want useful signals, you have to decide who you are li...

Today, we're joined by Aditi Raghunathan, assistant professor at Carnegie Mellon University, to discuss the limitations of LLMs and how we can build more adaptable and creative models. We dig into her ICML 2025 Outstanding Paper Award winner, “Roll the dice & look before you leap: Going beyond the creative limits of next-token prediction,” which examines why LLMs struggle with generating truly novel ideas. We dig into the "Roll the dice" approach, which encourages structured exploration by injecting randomness at the start of generation, and the "Look before you leap" concept, which trains models to take "leaps of thought" using alternative objectives to create more diverse and structured outputs. We also discuss Aditi's papers exploring the counterintuitive phenomenon of "catastrophic overtraining," where training models on more data improves benchmark performance but degrades their ability to be fine-tuned for new tasks, and dig into her lab's work on creating more controllable and reliable models, including the concept of "memorization sinks," an architectural approach to isolate and enable the targeted unlearning of specific information.

ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – The guys asked Aditi if Kenny Pickett will play at all in the Browns preseason finale after not playing at all this preseason. Aditi thinks Pickett had a good chance to be the Browns starter if he did not get hurt early in training camp. Poni told Aditi he was upset by the praise for Shedeur Sanders after the first preseason game. Are the Steelers making a mistake by not playing Aaron Rodgers in the preseason? Aditi definitively said Rodgers will get more leeway from Mike Tomlin to do things no other QB has been able to do since Ben Roethlisberger retired. With Cam Heyward practicing yesterday, Aditi said it's a sign of good faith by the player that their demands will be met – but you can't guarantee that's the case.
Aaron Rodgers won't play in the preseason. This is the first example of Rodgers taking advantage of Mike Tomlin. Even late in his career, Ben Roethlisberger played in preseason games. Is it a mistake for the Steelers to not have Rodgers at least get his feet wet? The injury concern is there, sure, but there is a real chance the offense comes out flat in Week 1. Our voiceover guy with another banger. The Steelers brought in Dalton Risner for a visit – a guard that played good football for a 14-win Vikings team last season. In Aditi's first appearance on the show, she discusses how central bankers' relationships in the 1920's impacted the global economy, how the ending of those relationships played a part in the Great Depression, how we can apply those principles to the Great Recession and the present, and much more. ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi is surprised the Cam Heyward and Chris Boswell stories popped up so late into the offseason. Aditi isn't too entrenched in the situation, so she didn't want to comment too much on it. Poni pointed out how the Steelers don't put incentives into contracts. Poni and Aditi pondered if Omar Khan would give an honest answer about the situation if they had him on the air right now. Aditi has Eagles-Browns this weekend, so she talked about the injury to Shedeur Sanders after a terrific preseason debut. Where will Kenny Pickett be on the Browns depth chart when the season starts?
The Steelers will play their only home preseason game tomorrow night and Poni is wondering how fans will treat Cam Heyward once he runs out of the tunnel. Would it be outlandish for people to boo? Poni finds it odd that a player that has been an example of great Steelers football for 15 years is all of the sudden a jackass. How will fans treat Cam Heyward tomorrow night? ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi believes that a hold-in is more likely than a holdout for TJ Watt and the Steelers. The Pirates are failing Paul Skenes similarly to how the Bengals defense is failing Joe Burrow and the rest of the offense. Cam Heyward was vocal and said that the players want TJ Watt to remain a Steeler. Aditi thinks that the Steelers front office is disrespecting TJ Watt.
Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike says that the fact that Watt's contract is so expensive, it makes sense for him to hold out. He also says that TJ's holdout is far more likely this year than it was in 2021. He says the door to a potential TJ Watt trade is “at least cracked”. The Steelers need to know when they can escape a bad deal in a potential contract with Watt. Mike says he'd be stunned if the Steelers end up tied to Watt for three years. Mike thinks Micah Parsons should want TJ Watt to sign his deal first. ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi believes that a hold-in is more likely than a holdout for TJ Watt and the Steelers. Central bank cooperation during global financial crises has been anything but consistent. While some crises are arrested with extensive cooperation, others are left to spiral. Going beyond explanations based on state power, interests, or resources, in Bankers' Trust: How Social Relations Avert Global Financial Collapse (Cornell University Press, 2025) Dr. Aditi Sahasrabuddhe argues that central bank cooperation—or the lack thereof—often boils down to ties of trust, familiarity, and goodwill between bank leaders. These personal relations influence the likelihood of access to ad hoc, bilateral arrangements with more favorable terms. Drawing on archival evidence and elite interviews, Sahasrabuddhe uncovers just how critical interpersonal trust between central bankers has been in managing global financial crises. She tracks the emergence of such relationships in the interwar 1920s, how they helped prop up the Bretton Woods system in the 1960s, and how they prevented the 2008 global financial crisis from turning into another Great Depression. When traditional signals of credibility fell short during these periods of crisis and uncertainty, established ties of trust between central bank leaders mediated risk calculations, alleviated concerns, and helped innovate less costly solutions. Dr. Sahasrabuddhe challenges the idea that central banking is purely apolitical and technocratic. She pinpoints the unique transnational power central bank leaders hold as unelected figures who nonetheless play key roles in managing states' economies. By calling attention to the influence personal relationships can have on whether countries sink or swim during crises, Bankers' Trust asks us to reconsider the transparency and democratic accountability of global financial governance today. This interview was conducted by Dr. Miranda Melcher whose book focuses on post-conflict military integration, understanding treaty negotiation and implementation in civil war contexts, with qualitative analysis of the Angolan and Mozambican civil wars. ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi reacted to Patrick Rooney calling out the Steelers and their way of business. One of the things he said was the ‘insane' idea of paying TJ Watt. Can Watt accept his poor play from the end of last season and how can that impact his negotiations? Aditi said Watt is putting a plan together for a bounce back in 2025. She indicated that Watt hears the critics. Who does Aditi think is the best Steeler of the last 25 years? She thinks Troy Polamalu makes quite the case.
Patrick Rooney Jr., a member of the Rooney family, said it would be ‘insane' to give TJ Watt big money right now. Is it a nothing-burger or is there something there? He may not be as close to the family as other members, but he had several critiques of the team at-large. And he's certainly not a fan of Aaron Rodgers or how his family has built the current team. Last week we spoke with Aditi and Nitya from Para about interoperability from the user's lens, and this week, in our second episode of Between Two Chains, we speak with Jill Gunter from Espresso about interoperability from the other lens: builders. Jill dives deep into the intricate dynamics of composability and interoperability, how infra builders need to emphasize user experience to move forward, and the state of Ethereum, the ecosystem's incentives, and the importance of staying user-centric while building decentralized applications. Between Two Chains is a four-part miniseries produced by Rehash and co-hosted by LayerZero, where we explore whether blockchain interoperability is solved. ⏳ TIMESTAMPS: 0:00 Intro 08:30 The importance of composability 18:19 Composability in infra 21:17 The developer vs user communication gap 32:51 The importance of interoperability 37:13 Follow Jill
Aditi asked how much longer we can ask ‘what's going on with the Steelers?' instead of declaring that these are the ‘new' Steelers. Aditi thinks the Steelers are ‘all-in' on the season and trading TJ Watt wouldn't make sense. Aditi doesn't think Watt wants just one penny more than Myles Garrett, saying he's not that petty. The guys think it is a little bit about his pride and ego against a player like Garrett. Aditi talked about how things have changed since the last Watt contract was signed going into the 2021 season.
Aditi reiterated her push for the team to re-sign TJ Watt. The conversation turned to the legacy of Mike Tomlin and why he wants to win his way given how he has been treated over the last almost 20 years. If the Steelers DID trade Watt, which team would be most likely to make the best call?
In our first episode of Between Two Chains, a new 4-part miniseries produced by Rehash and co-hosted by LayerZero where we explore whether blockchain interoperability is solved, we bring on Nitya and Aditi from Para (previously Capsule) to talk about the current state of wallet UX and how interoperability can create better overall experiences for users of onchain apps. ⏳ TIMESTAMPS: 0:00 Intro 3:44 What does interoperability mean? 12:25 Improving the onchain onboarding experience 19:04 Privacy and identity in interoperability 25:02 Tradeoffs to better UX 35:26 What's next once interoperability is solved?
We may have witnessed the worst Paul Skenes of his career as the Brewers beat him up early en route to a 4-0 lead. The Pirates added a run, but it clearly looked like Skenes was off his game. The Pirates didn't do him many favors in the field, but the best stuff was not there. Today was another look at why the Pirates aren't very close to the Brewers. Why can't they be like the teams in Milwaukee, Cleveland or Tampa? ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi reacted to the Aaron Rodgers comments. She loves the way he is excited about mentoring Will Howard since this will ‘probably' be his final season. She said the comments can only bode well for Steelers fans. Aditi reiterated that she has never heard a bad thing about Rodgers' locker room presence. Aditi think it's the best combination of offensive talent they've had for quite some time. Donny Football Debrief – Is there a movie based on the Immaculate Reception in the works?
