ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi believes that a hold-in is more likely than a holdout for TJ Watt and the Steelers. The Pirates are failing Paul Skenes similarly to how the Bengals defense is failing Joe Burrow and the rest of the offense. Cam Heyward was vocal and said that the players want TJ Watt to remain a Steeler. Aditi thinks that the Steelers front office is disrespecting TJ Watt.
Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike says that the fact that Watt's contract is so expensive, it makes sense for him to hold out. He also says that TJ's holdout is far more likely this year than it was in 2021. He says the door to a potential TJ Watt trade is “at least cracked”. The Steelers need to know when they can escape a bad deal in a potential contract with Watt. Mike says he'd be stunned if the Steelers end up tied to Watt for three years. Mike thinks Micah Parsons should want TJ Watt to sign his deal first. ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi believes that a hold-in is more likely than a holdout for TJ Watt and the Steelers. Central bank cooperation during global financial crises has been anything but consistent. While some crises are arrested with extensive cooperation, others are left to spiral. Going beyond explanations based on state power, interests, or resources, in Bankers' Trust: How Social Relations Avert Global Financial Collapse (Cornell University Press, 2025) Dr. Aditi Sahasrabuddhe argues that central bank cooperation—or the lack thereof—often boils down to ties of trust, familiarity, and goodwill between bank leaders. These personal relations influence the likelihood of access to ad hoc, bilateral arrangements with more favorable terms. Drawing on archival evidence and elite interviews, Sahasrabuddhe uncovers just how critical interpersonal trust between central bankers has been in managing global financial crises. She tracks the emergence of such relationships in the interwar 1920s, how they helped prop up the Bretton Woods system in the 1960s, and how they prevented the 2008 global financial crisis from turning into another Great Depression. When traditional signals of credibility fell short during these periods of crisis and uncertainty, established ties of trust between central bank leaders mediated risk calculations, alleviated concerns, and helped innovate less costly solutions. Dr. Sahasrabuddhe challenges the idea that central banking is purely apolitical and technocratic. She pinpoints the unique transnational power central bank leaders hold as unelected figures who nonetheless play key roles in managing states' economies. By calling attention to the influence personal relationships can have on whether countries sink or swim during crises, Bankers' Trust asks us to reconsider the transparency and democratic accountability of global financial governance today. This interview was conducted by Dr. Miranda Melcher whose book focuses on post-conflict military integration, understanding treaty negotiation and implementation in civil war contexts, with qualitative analysis of the Angolan and Mozambican civil wars. fWotD Episode 2990: Holkham Hall Welcome to featured Wiki of the Day, your daily dose of knowledge from Wikipedia's finest articles. The featured article for Saturday, 12 July 2025, is Holkham Hall.Holkham Hall ( or ) is an 18th-century country house near the village of Holkham, Norfolk, England, constructed in the Neo-Palladian style for Thomas Coke, 1st Earl of Leicester (of the fifth creation of the title). The hall was designed by the architect William Kent, with contributions from Richard Boyle, 3rd Earl of Burlington, the Norfolk architect and surveyor, Matthew Brettingham and Thomas Coke himself.Holkham is one of England's finest examples of the Palladian revival style of architecture, and the severity of its design is closer to Andrea Palladio's ideals than many of the other numerous Palladian style houses of the period. The exterior consists of a central block, of two storeys and constructed of brick, and four flanking wings. The interior of the hall is opulent, but by the standards of the day, simply decorated and furnished. Ornament is used with such restraint that it was possible to decorate both private and state rooms in the same style, without oppressing the former. The principal entrance is through the Marble Hall, which is in fact made of pink Derbyshire alabaster; this leads to the piano nobile, or the first floor, and state rooms. The most impressive of these rooms is the Saloon, which has walls lined with red velvet. Each of the major state rooms is symmetrical in its layout and design; in some rooms, false doors are necessary to fully achieve this balanced effect. The four pavilions at each corner of the central block provide space for private, family accommodation, a guest wing, a chapel and the kitchens. The question of who designed Holkham has challenged architectural historians, and contemporaries, almost since the time of the hall's construction. The clerk-of-works, Matthew Brettingham, claimed authorship when he published The Plans, Elevations and Sections, of Holkham in Norfolk in 1761. This claim was immediately challenged by Horace Walpole, who attributed the designs to William Kent. Brettingham's son, Matthew the Younger, acknowledged in a later addition of his father's work that, "the general idea [for Holkham] was first struck out by the Earls of Leicester and Burlington, assisted by Mr. William Kent". Later historians have debated the exact contributions of Burlington, and of Coke himself, with those writing in the early 20th century generally downplaying the roles of both, while those writing later in the 20th and in the 21st centuries have found evidence of greater involvement, at least of Coke. The exact role Brettingham played in the origination, rather than the execution, of the design remains uncertain. The Holkham estate was built up by Sir Edward Coke, a lawyer in the reigns of Elizabeth I and James I and VI and the founder of his family's fortune. It remains the ancestral home of the Coke family, who became Earls of Leicester. The house is a Grade I listed building, and its park is listed, also at Grade I, on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 00:45 UTC on Saturday, 12 July 2025.For the full current version of the article, see Holkham Hall on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm standard Aditi.

ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi reacted to Patrick Rooney calling out the Steelers and their way of business. One of the things he said was the ‘insane' idea of paying TJ Watt. Can Watt accept his poor play from the end of last season and how can that impact his negotiations? Aditi said Watt is putting a plan together for a bounce back in 2025. She indicated that Watt hears the critics. Who does Aditi think is the best Steeler of the last 25 years? She thinks Troy Polamalu makes quite the case.
Patrick Rooney Jr., a member of the Rooney family, said it would be ‘insane' to give TJ Watt big money right now. Is it a nothing-burger or is there something there? He may not be as close to the family as other members, but he had several critiques of the team at-large. And he's certainly not a fan of Aaron Rodgers or how his family has built the current team. Aditi asked how much longer we can ask ‘what's going on with the Steelers?' instead of declaring that these are the ‘new' Steelers. Aditi thinks the Steelers are ‘all-in' on the season and trading TJ Watt wouldn't make sense. Aditi doesn't think Watt wants just one penny more than Myles Garrett, saying he's not that petty. The guys think it is a little bit about his pride and ego against a player like Garrett. Aditi talked about how things have changed since the last Watt contract was signed going into the 2021 season.
Aditi reiterated her push for the team to re-sign TJ Watt. The conversation turned to the legacy of Mike Tomlin and why he wants to win his way given how he has been treated over the last almost 20 years. If the Steelers DID trade Watt, which team would be most likely to make the best call?
In our first episode of Between Two Chains, a new 4-part miniseries produced by Rehash and co-hosted by LayerZero where we explore whether blockchain interoperability is solved, we bring on Nitya and Aditi from Para (previously Capsule) to talk about the current state of wallet UX and how interoperability can create better overall experiences for users of onchain apps. ⏳ TIMESTAMPS: 0:00 Intro 3:44 What does interoperability mean? 12:25 Improving the onchain onboarding experience 19:04 Privacy and identity in interoperability 25:02 Tradeoffs to better UX 35:26 What's next once interoperability is solved?
ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi reacted to the Aaron Rodgers comments. She loves the way he is excited about mentoring Will Howard since this will ‘probably' be his final season. She said the comments can only bode well for Steelers fans. Aditi reiterated that she has never heard a bad thing about Rodgers' locker room presence. Aditi think it's the best combination of offensive talent they've had for quite some time.
We may have witnessed the worst Paul Skenes of his career as the Brewers beat him up early en route to a 4-0 lead. The Pirates added a run, but it clearly looked like Skenes was off his game. The Pirates didn't do him many favors in the field, but the best stuff was not there. Today was another look at why the Pirates aren't very close to the Brewers. Why can't they be like the teams in Milwaukee, Cleveland or Tampa? ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi reacted to the Aaron Rodgers comments. rWotD Episode 2970: Sabot (firearms) Welcome to Random Wiki of the Day, your journey through Wikipedia's vast and varied content, one random article at a time. The random article for Saturday, 21 June 2025, is Sabot (firearms).A sabot (UK: , US: ) is a supportive device used in firearm/artillery ammunitions to fit/patch around a projectile, such as a bullet/slug or a flechette-like projectile (such as a kinetic energy penetrator), and keep it aligned in the center of the barrel when fired. It allows a narrower projectile with high sectional density to be fired through a barrel of much larger bore diameter with maximal accelerative transfer of kinetic energy. After leaving the muzzle, the sabot typically separates from the projectile in flight, diverting only a very small portion of the overall kinetic energy. The sabot component in projectile design is the relatively thin, tough and deformable seal known as a driving band or obturation ring needed to trap propellant gases behind a projectile, and also keep the projectile centered in the barrel, when the outer shell of the projectile is only slightly smaller in diameter than the caliber of the barrel. Driving bands and obturators are used to seal these full-bore projectiles in the barrel because of manufacturing tolerances; there always exists some gap between the projectile outer diameter and the barrel inner diameter, usually a few thousandths of an inch; enough of a gap for high pressure gasses to slip by during firing. Driving bands and obturator rings are made from material that will deform and seal the barrel as the projectile is forced from the chamber into the barrel.Sabots use driving bands and obturators, because the same manufacturing tolerance issues exist when sealing the saboted projectile in the barrel, but the sabot itself is a more substantial structural component of the in-bore projectile configuration. Refer to the two armor-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot (APFSDS) pictures to see the substantial material nature of a sabot to fill the bore diameter around the sub-caliber arrow-type flight projectile, compared to the very small gap sealed by a driving band or obturator to mitigate what is known classically as windage. More detailed cutaways of the internal structural complexity of advanced APFSDS saboted long rod penetrator projectiles can be found in #External links. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 01:14 UTC on Saturday, 21 June 2025.For the full current version of the article, see Sabot (firearms) on Wikipedia.

BREAKING: Mario Lemieux, David Morehouse and Ron Burkle are looking to buy back the Penguins from Fenway Sports Group. We can't help but think this is great news considering the success the team has had under their watch. What could have them coming back in from a business perspective? We also had audio from Arthur Smith and how he sees the marriage going with Aaron Rodgers. The guys did credit some of the realness with Rodgers that we didn't see with Russell Wilson as QB1. How much control will Rodgers have in-game with audibles that we haven't seen for a Steelers QB in quite some time? ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi said Aaron Rodgers is not a statue and can still move around a bit as he gets back more from his Achilles tear. Aditi thinks the time for Rodgers in Green Bay had expired and run its course, which explained his mediocre final season there. She believes Rodgers will clearly give better QB play than Russell Wilson last season. The guys questioned Aditi on why she wanted Justin Fields in Pittsburgh instead of Rodgers. Aditi pushed back at Poni and said not everything is black or white the way he portrays. Why did some of the things for Rodgers with the Jets go so poorly? Aditi quickly said ‘pay the man' when the conversation turned to TJ Watt. She thinks any conversation to trade him is ridiculous for how much he's given to the team. Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike reacted to Aaron Rodgers signing and now practicing with the Steelers, and how weird it looks to him. Mike said the mission is clear with the Steelers and hopefully it involves more than just a single playoff win. Mike doesn't think Rodgers wanted his career to end the way things did in New York. He thinks just getting to the playoffs for Rodgers is a success. Mike pointed out a couple of things that made him realize Rodgers had some trouble finding a new team. What happens if this doesn't work out? Mike felt like he's been corrupted by Poni's tweeting habits. Is Mike Tomlin still making chicken salad out of chicken you-know-what?

fWotD Episode 2959: Concerto delle donne Welcome to Featured Wiki of the Day, your daily dose of knowledge from Wikipedia's finest articles. The featured article for Wednesday, 11 June 2025, is Concerto delle donne. The concerto delle donne (lit. 'consort of ladies') was an ensemble of professional female singers of late Renaissance music in Italy. The term usually refers to the first and most influential group in Ferrara, which existed between 1580 and 1597. Renowned for their technical and artistic virtuosity, the Ferrarese group's core members were the sopranos Laura Peverara, Livia d'Arco and Anna Guarini. The Duke of Ferrara Alfonso II d'Este founded a group of mostly female singers for his chamber music series, musica secreta (lit. 'secret music'). These singers were exclusively noble women, such as Lucrezia and Isabella Bendidio. In 1580, Alfonso formally established the concerto delle donne for both his wife Margherita Gonzaga d'Este and reasons of prestige. The new group included professional singers of upper-class, but not noble, backgrounds, under the direction of the composers Luzzasco Luzzaschi and Ippolito Fiorini. Their signature style of florid, highly ornamented singing brought prestige to Ferrara and inspired composers of the time such as Lodovico Agostini, Carlo Gesualdo and Claudio Monteverdi. The concerto delle donne revolutionized the role of women in professional music, and continued the tradition of the Este court as a musical center. Word of the ladies' ensemble spread across Italy, inspiring imitations in the courts of the Medici and Orsini. The founding of the concerto delle donne was among the most important events in secular music in late sixteenth century Italy. pWotD Episode 2957: Jeffrey Epstein Welcome to Popular Wiki of the Day, spotlighting Wikipedia's most visited pages, giving you a peek into what the world is curious about today. With 275,461 views on Friday, 6 June 2025 our article of the day is Jeffrey Epstein.Jeffrey Edward Epstein ( EP-steen; January 20, 1953 – August 10, 2019) was an American financier and child sex offender. Born and raised in New York City, Epstein began his professional career as a teacher at the Dalton School, despite lacking a college degree. After his dismissal from the school in 1976, he entered the banking and finance sector, working at Bear Stearns in various roles before starting his own firm. Epstein cultivated an elite social circle and procured many women and children whom he and his associates sexually abused. In 2005, police in Palm Beach, Florida, began investigating Epstein after a parent reported that he had sexually abused her 14-year-old daughter. Federal officials identified 36 girls, some as young as 14 years old, whom Epstein had allegedly sexually abused. Epstein pleaded guilty and was convicted in 2008 by a Florida state court of procuring a child for prostitution and of soliciting a prostitute. He was convicted of only these two crimes as part of a controversial plea deal, and served almost 13 months in custody but with extensive work release.Epstein was arrested again on July 6, 2019, on federal charges for the sex trafficking of minors in Florida and New York. He died in his jail cell on August 10, 2019. The medical examiner ruled that his death was a suicide by hanging. Epstein's lawyers have disputed the ruling, and there has been significant public skepticism about the true cause of his death, resulting in numerous conspiracy theories. However recently the Federal Bureau of Investigation stated in 2025 that it would soon release video evidence supporting the conclusion that Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in his jail cell. Since Epstein's death precluded the possibility of pursuing criminal charges against him, a judge dismissed all criminal charges on August 29, 2019. Epstein had a decades-long association with the British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, who recruited young girls for him, leading to her 2021 conviction on U. S. federal charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy for helping him procure girls, including a 14-year-old, for child sexual abuse and prostitution. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 02:02 UTC on Saturday, 7 June 2025.For the full current version of the article, see Jeffrey Epstein on Wikipedia.
ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi described Gabe Davis as ‘intense' and a good teammate. Aditi brought up a story from one of her days on the sideline with CBS when Davis got upset on the sideline, but was happy to answer questions after the game. Aditi said she's more excited about Roman Wilson and Calvin Austin than she is about Davis or another middling veteran receiver. Is the Jonnu Smith stuff mostly a play of the agent so the tight end can get a new deal or could he really end up with the Steelers? Some good media chatter as well.
Ben Roethlisberger is trying to change the narrative on how he felt about Mason Rudolph when he was drafted in 2018. The guys went back in time a little bit to remember how it was when Rudolph first got here. Ben has a good relationship with several other backup QBs from his time, but Mason was not one of them. How is Mason looking in OTAs so far? A few insiders say he has been really showing signs of a starting QB. ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi described Gabe Davis as ‘intense' and a good teammate. ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi thought the comments by Terry Bradshaw on Aaron Rodgers ‘says it all.' Aditi said she has talked to plenty of people around the league who are ‘stunned' that the Steelers are just waiting around on Rodgers. Aditi isn't sure how much the Rodgers acquisition would even move the needle for the Steelers. Aditi also caught the comments made by Bradshaw on Kenny Pickett and why she has been on that train for months now. Aditi said it's a pretty common feeling in the NFL that Pickett was drafted into a dysfunctional situation and the Steelers failed him. Aditi isn't sold on the Browns keeping both of their rookie QBs on the active roster. Aditi is at Kennywood and said she doesn't like Potato Patch fries.
Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike reacted to Terry Bradshaw blasting Aaron Rodgers on an Arkansas radio show. Mike thinks Steelers fans are in favor of what Bradshaw said. Mike gave reasons why he's bothered by what Rodgers is doing. Mike said it is exhausting to deal with Rodgers as a fan or follower of the team. Mike was going through some of the conspiracy theories of major events in recent American history. Does Mike think the Steelers should be worried at all about the TJ Watt contract situation? Kenny Pickett had some words for the Steelers organization today – is Pickett safe in Cleveland? Mike think it comes down to Pickett or Joe Flacco due to the other QBs in their room. ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – The conversation started about the college days. Aditi reacted to the Aaron Rodgers appearance with Joe Rogan. Aditi does not feel strongly either way that Rodgers will sign with the Steelers before mandatory minicamp. Would there be a breaking point when the Steelers decide to move forward in a different direction at QB? The guys asked for some tea on the Ben Roethlisberger punch down at Mason Rudolph in his latest podcast episode. Aditi doubled down that the Jets' issues last year were not surrounding the QB.
Aaron Rodgers hopped on the Joe Rogan podcast and even though they didn't talk much football, they did talk about cancer, and how it is impacting Rodgers' life at the moment. Poni brought up the chat he had with Rodgers' biographer last week, who doesn't think what is happening in his life will ultimately impact if he plays for the Steelers. It is known that Rodgers isn't very close with his family, so it could be a close friend going through an illness. The guys wondered if a contract could be signed and Rodgers could just show up later, but are the optics of that too weird? ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – The conversation started about the college days. ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – Aditi said the Steelers ‘absolutely' won the George Pickens trade and sounded like she was in shock they got a 3rd round pick for him. The guys asked her why this trade didn't get done before or during the draft and instead happened now. What does this mean on the Aaron Rodgers front of things? The guys pointed out that Pickens will be playing with the best QB he's played with in his career. Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. With the George Pickens to Dallas move being official, Mike said the Steelers could turn their attention to Allen Lazard – one of close friends of Aaron Rodgers. Why didn't the trade happen during the draft? Mike brought up what Jerry Jones said a couple weeks ago about a couple of big moves in the works from the Cowboys front office. Mike brought up a couple different receivers the Steelers could have their eyes on. One week away from the NFL schedule release, what happens if the Steelers don't land Rodgers? Mike said everything with Pickens in Dallas comes down to Dak Prescott – who could be the QB that clicks with Pickens unlike any others have. Strike up the band… Mike said the 49ers would ‘LOVE' to unload the Brandon Aiyuk contract, but thinks the door is closed with the Steelers. Mike talked about some of the red flags with receivers.
Bhuwan Pyakurel, a former refugee from Bhutan, resettled in the United States in 2009. He and his family moved to Ohio in 2014 and he became a U.S. citizen in 2015. They bought their first home in Reynoldsburg and immediately became involved in the community. Bhuwan and his wife, Dil, have been married for 14 years and they have two children, Aditi and Dev, both who attend Reynoldsburg Public Schools. Aditi loves reading and volunteers her time to raise funds to protect the environment. Dev loves sports and plays basketball and soccer, and enjoys skateboarding, karate, chess, and solving the Rubik's Cube. As a community leader, Bhuwan has worked with the Reynoldsburg Police Department and residents ever since he moved to the city. He believes education is the most important tool to bridge the gap and build trust between those in public safety and the community. Since 2015, Bhuwan has been a manager of interpretive services for Primary One Health, which operates 10 clinics in Central Ohio, and he also serves on the Board of the new Reynoldsburg YMCA. He has also served as President of the Bhutanese Community of Central Ohio (BCCO). For Ward 3 residents and all of Reynoldsburg, Bhuwan's plans include: helping keep Reynoldsburg residents safer by fixing sidewalks, roads and infrastructure and improving lighting, increasing the number of code enforcement officers in the City, boosting communications and transparency between City Council and citizens by using modern technologies, and making City government work better for the people of Reynoldsburg by holding regular town hall forums with constituents. Bhuwan, who has a Bachelor of Science degree from North Bengal University in India, and the City of Reynoldsburg made history in November 2019 when he became the first Bhutanese American to be elected to public office in the United States. After he and 120,000 fellow Bhutanese-Nepali's were forcibly pushed out of Bhutan and their civil, human and political rights stripped away, Bhuwan says he will “always be grateful to this nation for giving me a second chance to live my life and enjoy these freedoms in the greatest country in the world.” Bhuwan deeply values his American citizenship and its inalienable protected rights, and he now works to “pay it forward” and create new opportunities for the people of Reynoldsburg.
Aditi told The PM Team she was stunned the Browns picked Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. It's the first time quarterbacks have been taken by the same team in 50 picks in NFL history. Do the Steelers or Browns have a better quarterback room?
Hour 1 with Joe Starkey: Mike Sullivan is officially joining the Rangers. It was time for the Penguins to move on and Joe still thinks it would have been the right time for the Steelers to move on from Tomlin. Why are Paul Skenes' strikeouts down? Should we be concerned about Skenes? Aditi told The PM Team she was stunned the Browns picked Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.
Ben Roethlisberger said there is no pressure on Will Howard, but he should have the mentality that he can be the man. Ben referenced a few backup QBs during his days. Poni said he would prefer the Steelers have Howard split the duties this season with Mason Rudolph because there's no upside with Aaron Rodgers. What is their ceiling with Rodgers? ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi – The discussion was around Bill Belichick and his 20-something girlfriend, where everything just seems extremely bizarre. We then reflected on the NFL Draft that saw the Shedeur Sanders slide all the way to the 5th round. Aditi talked about the lead up to the draft and how Sanders handled things, which impacted his stock. Aditi was stunned by how far Sanders dropped. The guys asked Aditi how she would handicap the Browns QB situation. Aditi brought up the trade that had the Browns moving off a ‘generational player' in Travis Hunter, but the capital they received may have been too rich. Aditi called out the Browns for taking 2 QBs in this draft. She credited the Steelers for enacting a plan while also drafting a developmental QB. Donny Football Debrief – NFL dot com has ranked the Top 10 games of the upcoming season as the schedule release is 2 weeks away. Are the Steelers on there?

Aditi said on CBS Sports Network before the draft that Mike Tomlin likes Shedeur Sanders, but it wouldn't be that surprising to see Art Rooney II step in and take a DT. Derrick Harmon's mom is on life support and in the hospital and he said what his mom means to me and that he was going to tell her that he was drafted that night. A really special moment.

She said teams have called about those top 3 spots, but no takers just yet. Aditi suggested Jaxson Dart being the second QB off the board, not Shedeur Sanders. The guys asked Aditi what to make of the Mike Tomlin comments yesterday. Does Aditi think the Steelers will move George Pickens in exchange for a trip back into the 2nd round Friday night? Aditi reacted to the report of the Steelers being interested in Kirk Cousins and thinks it's could be a way to motivate Aaron Rodgers to decide. Aditi predicted that the Steelers will take Sanders tomorrow night.
