We discuss Sarah's algorithm and why it's feeding her lavender marriages, and we debate their merits. We discuss the Presbyterian church debating whether to let their clergy be in polyamorous relationships. Sarah names some of the rules and courtesies the Washington Post says apply to people going on group vacations. Susie seems to be mad about power banks for some reason, so we have to hear about that. We discuss the documentary If You're Happy And You Know It, on musicians who write songs for children, and we learn why kids are the wildest fan base, the traits of a song that helps make it stick with children, and why dancing is so important for little ones. We consider what makes an addiction an addiction, and Susie wonders whether we're all addicted to something.00:00 - Welcome to the Brain Candy Podcast00:23 - Debating Non-Traditional Relationships and Church Rules05:12 - Essential Rules for Group Vacation Rentals14:29 - Susie's Frustration with Uncharged Power Banks19:35 - Navigating Shared Spaces on Group Vacations27:01 - The Wiggles and Kids' Love for Movement35:32 - Exploring Compulsions and Reward Pathways in Life39:07 - Casper Baby Pants and Baby Shark's Origin47:47 - Michigan Bill Protects Young Entrepreneurs50:35 - Support the Show and Join Our CommunityBrain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:Head to https://airdoctorpro.com and use promo code CANDY to get UP TO $300 off today! EPISODE 168 | Eating the Onions: War of the Worlds & Other Scares In an environment of experimental fiction, metanarratives, postmodern satire, disinformation, deep fakes, and fake news, a sizeable portion of the content gobbling audience takes things that are not true as being actually true. Online, this happens with alarming regularity with articles published by satirical news site The Onion; so often, in fact, that there's a term for this phenomenon – it's called Eating the Onion. The subjects of intentional disinformation, deep fakes, and fake news are one thing, but what we're looking at here at times when something that was never intended to be taken seriously (though it used real world tropes and structures for narrative effect), were accidentally thought to be base din reality. And people quite rather lost their shit. Like the 1938 Orson Welles broadcast of The War of the Worlds. But there are other instances as well. Review us here or on IMDb. The satirical news publication The Onion is trying to take over Infowars, formerly owned by far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, and planning to put comedian Tim Heidecker in charge. Their vision is to turn Infowars into ‘Adult Swim' for the internet. Tim joins WIRED's Global Editorial Director Katie Drummond for the Big Interview, to talk about political comedy, why late-night has run its course, and what he hopes the future of Infowars will look like.Listen and subscribe to Uncanny Valley here.

Sarah is back from the Windy City, and boy are her arms tired. Susie's whole body is tired because she had to lead a cat rescue operation. We discuss the Bang My Box documentary about Robin Byrd's New York cable access show in the 80s, and how she was a gay icon and advocate, but got spooked by the internet. We learn why Burning Man was in distress over Covid, why white people love the festival, and why we wish there was a Burning Man for nerds. We hear about a fella who cut off his member and set his neighbor's house on fire. We learn why there are far more shellfish now than there used to be. And we get a shocking update about the mountain climber who left his girlfriend in the Alps to die of hypothermia, and what happened when he was tried for negligent murder.00:00 - Sarah's Windy City Adventures and Toy Story 5 Review06:26 - Susie's Wild Cat Rescue and Pet Parenthood14:56 - Exploring the Provocative 'Bang My Box' Documentary22:11 - Sarah's Glowing Review of OneSkin Skincare24:03 - Unpacking Burning Man's Allure and Controversies33:53 - Thanking Donors and Lottery Pool Last Call35:54 - Unbelievable Headline: Penis, Garage, and Fire39:17 - Octopus and Squid Now Classified as Shellfish43:19 - The Tragic Alpine Death and Climber's Trial01:01:50 - Supporting the Show and Joining the Candy Brain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:For up to 65% off your order, head to https://veracityhealth.co and use code BRAINCANDYGet 15% off OneSkin with the code BRAINCANDY at https://www.oneskin.co/BRAINCANDY #oneskinpodTDM-RESERVATION: 1. Ben Wikler has spent his career moving between comedy and politics, communication and organizing. Growing up in Madison, Wisconsin, a city shaped by civic engagement, academic inquiry, and the satirical spirit that gave rise to The Onion, he developed a worldview in which humor isn't a distraction from democracy, but one of the ways people learn to trust one another enough to participate in it. Wikler has become one of the country's most closely watched political organizers. He was the chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin from 2019-2025, and is the author of This Is the Plan: How to End America's Meltdown and Save Democracy. But this conversation isn't about campaign tactics or election cycles. Instead, it's about the values and experiences that shaped him: the Wisconsin Idea, the role of humor in public life, the changing media landscape, and why curiosity, optimism, and solidarity remain essential ingredients of democratic life. Recorded at the Madison home where Ben grew up, and where he and his wife are now raising their own family, this is a conversation about place, purpose, and what it takes to keep believing in the promise of democracy. www.third-story.com www.leosidran.substack.com www.wbgo.org/podcast/the-third-story
Learn more about Alpha School at https://go.alpha.school/howiwrite Scott Dikkers is the former editor-in-chief of The Onion, the site that brought news satire to the internet. Before the episode, I went up to Scott and said, “I have one goal for this: I want to start writing funny. You know how to do it. Can you teach me everything you've learned?" He's been doing this for decades, so he was able to take me by the hand and show me what he learned, very concretely. You're obviously not going to framework your way to becoming the next George Carlin, but there are universal principles of comedy that work in any kind of writing, whether it's for a group chat or when you are talking with friends on a Saturday night at the bar. And Scott is about to teach us how to do it. About the host Hey! I'm David Perell and I'm a writer, teacher, and podcaster. This week we're trying something a little different! We each picked a topic to deep dive into without telling the other person what it was, and we're sharing what we learned live on the podcast. Riley kicks things off with a deep dive on food cravings. What they actually mean and what your body might be trying to tell you. We talk through what common cravings like sugar, salt, carbs, red meat, and dairy could signal about your nutrient levels, and why kids might actually be the best at listening to their bodies. Then Roni takes us through a breakdown of every type of onion and when to actually use them. If you've ever wondered why a recipe calls for a shallot instead of a yellow onion, or why your onion tastes "hot", we've got answers! If you have a topic you'd like us to deep dive on, send us an email at podcast@plantoeat.com. Ben Collins is CEO of The Onion, the satirical newspaper that bills itself as America's Finest News Source. In 2024, Collins announced that The Onion had acquired Infowars, the longtime flagship brand of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, at bankruptcy auction. However, thanks to a series of higher court stays, the Infowars name remains in legal limbo. This month, The Onion relaunched "Real Infowars" at theonion.info as part of a broader strategy to pressure the courts into unblocking the deal. Josh sat down with Ben Collins to learn about the history of the case, the legal roadblocks that remain in their way, and the longer-term plans to build a comedy network using the brand as a flagship logo.

On this episode of the STL Bucket List Show, we sit down with Dr. Tayler Onion—host of the Hang Time podcast, professor at UMSL, former Division I volleyball player, and advocate for women in sports—to discuss one of the fastest-growing movements in athletics today.Tayler shares her journey from growing up on a small farm in rural Illinois to competing at the University of Illinois, earning her doctorate studying women in sports leadership, and launching Hang Time, a podcast dedicated to telling the stories of women who are changing the sports industry. She reflects on the unexpected story behind becoming the Outback Bowl's famous "Bloomin' Onion" mascot, how that experience inspired her first podcast, and why she ultimately rebranded to focus exclusively on women's sports. The conversation explores the incredible rise of women's athletics, the lasting impact of Title IX, why representation in coaching and leadership matters, and how media coverage, fandom, and athlete-driven storytelling are creating opportunities that didn't exist just a few years ago. Tayler also shares her vision for building a stronger community for women working in sports throughout St. Louis, the lessons she's learned as both an athlete and educator, and why she believes the city is ready for even more investment in women's professional sports. From unforgettable championship moments to the future of sports media, this episode is an inspiring conversation about leadership, community, and the people helping shape the next generation of sports. They discuss: - Growing up on a farm in Industry, Illinois, and playing volleyball at the University of Illinois - Winning the "Be the Bloom" contest and becoming the Bloom and Onion mascot at the 2019 Outback Bowl - Launching the Bloom Pod during the pandemic and its focus on everyday people with big ideas - Finishing a doctorate on women's self-perception of power in sports leadership during Title IX's 50th anniversary - The decision to rebrand and relaunch as Hangtime, focused solely on women in sports - Interviewing ESPNW founder Laura Gentile and what it took to build a media category from scratch - The Deloitte projection of $3 billion in women's sports revenue for 2026 - Why traditional brands still don't know how to market to women's sports fans - Growing up without girls' sports and finding a North Star in local player Sam Quiggle - The 1999 U.S. Women's World Cup and Brandi Chastain as formative childhood moments - Reaching the national championship match with Illinois volleyball in 2011 - Teaching in UMSL's Sports Management program and getting students into the Super Bowl, Final Four, and NFL Draft - Hangtime's first in-person event at Urban Chestnut and the upcoming membership launch on August 1st - Bringing more pro women's sports — WNBA, NWSL, PWHL — to St. LouisSupport the show
The award-winning Compliance into the Weeds is the only weekly podcast that takes a deep dive into a compliance-related topic, literally going into the weeds to explore it in greater depth. Looking for some hard-hitting insights on compliance? Look no further than Compliance into the Weeds! In this episode of Compliance into the Weeds, Tom Fox and Matt Kelly discuss the June 29 Supreme Court decision in Trump v. Slaughter. This decision upheld the president's power to fire independent agency commissioners at will (with a carve-out for the Federal Reserve), overturning long-standing protections from Humphrey's Executor. Kelly argues the ruling will politicize and degrade regulatory agencies, deter qualified minority-party commissioners, increase rulemaking volatility, and shift power away from Congress toward courts as rules are challenged. As an example, they cite the SEC's proposal to allow semi-annual rather than quarterly reporting, which drew about 80,000 comments, with roughly 99% opposed, yet they predict it may proceed and later be reversed, creating compliance burdens. They then cover Georgia author Jean Wilson, sentenced to 10 years for a $66 million Medicare fraud scheme while writing healthcare compliance books. Another heat wave is hitting Chicago. Here's what to expect. Also on today's podcast, we talk to Onion executive editor Jordan LaFlure about the Chicago satire publication's new parody of Infowars. For years, Infowars spread all kinds of misinformation, most notably about the Sandy Hook School shooting that killed 20 children and six adults. Jones then lost a defamation suit, which led to his bankruptcy and, eventually, bidding on Infowars — which The Onion won. Want some more City Cast Chicago news? Is it Rod or the Onion? 7-14-2026
If you have ever improved, then relapsed, or felt like you are chasing the same symptoms in circles, this episode will help explain why. Dr. Holly Carling and Alicia walk through what it actually means to ask why, not just once, but layer by layer, until you reach the core of what is driving chronic illness. Using the image of an onion, Dr. Holly explains that symptoms are the outermost layer, and that real restoration usually lives at the fourth or fifth layer down. She walks through a case example to illustrate how each layer builds on the last, and why treating only the outer layers leads to improvement followed by relapse. In this episode: Why chronic illness is multifactorial, and why stopping at the first or second layer of why so often leads to managing illness rather than resolving it How to recognize system dysfunction and deeper drivers as distinct layers requiring different support Why digestion, sleep, blood sugar stability, and nervous system regulation must be addressed before deeper drivers can safely be resolved How acupuncture regulates systems rather than symptoms, and why that makes it central to this layered approach For full show notes, resources and links head to: https://vitalhealthcda.com/podcasts/ The Vital Health for You Podcast is for everyone. We revisit the most shared New York Times article by a woman who trains animals (and husbands). We discuss Sarah's new dog and her efforts to teach a new dog old tricks. Susie gives an update on her trivia night debacle where she was ROBBED (but it's FINE). We hear why Sarah is obsessed with Love Island. We learn why less than 50% off cultures mouth kiss romantically, but we're not buying it. We discuss the artist who got exclusive rights to the "blackest black" paint and how an artist who made the "pinkest pink" got revenge. And we find out about a woman who saved a crow and got many gifts in return.00:00 - Kicking Off Episode 1026: Sarah's Favorite Yet01:25 - Applying Operant Conditioning to Husbands and Animals03:11 - Positive Reinforcement and the Challenges of Dog Ownership13:24 - Sarah's Extensive and Seasonal Overalls Collection16:30 - Susie's Trivia Victory and Calling Out Cheaters25:40 - Diving Deep into the Wild World of Love Island37:36 - Debunking the '54% Don't Kiss Romantically' Claim47:20 - HBO Documentary on a Cult of Beautiful Models52:35 - The Petty Art Battle Over Exclusive Paint Colors56:49 - A Woman's Kindness to a Crow Rewarded with Gifts01:04:49 - Final Thoughts and Podcast PlugsBrain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:For 50% off your order, head to https://www.dailylook.com and use code BRAINCANDYTDM-RESERVATION: 1. The US has carried out more strikes on Iran after accusing it of attacking a container ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Diplomatic efforts continue to solve the crisis, with talks held between the Omani and Iranian foreign ministers. Also: the Trump administration issues subpoenas to journalists who wrote an article about Air Force One; we're in the western Canadian province of Alberta as people there consider the idea of becoming an independent state; the US government pays compensation for the first time to staff affected by "Havana Syndrome"; Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine kill at least seven and wound dozens; and why some people are welcoming a bid by the satirical website The Onion to convert the right-wing conspiracy platform Infowars into a parody of itself. The Global News Podcast brings you the breaking news you need to hear, as it happens. Susie went off on people with misophonia out of nowhere. Sarah teaches us about "analog rules." We discuss the insane documentary, Maternal Instinct, where a woman pretended to be pregnant and then kills a pregnant woman and steals her baby. We learn how this happened and discuss how the medical professionals who knew she couldn't be pregnant claimed they couldn't alert anyone because of HIPPA rules. We find out why young people are growing out their bushes, and we are not sure we support this. Maybe a little bush maintenance would be a nice compromise? An Amazon worker was delivering a package when he was confronted with his own lost cat at the home of his neighbor (who had stolen it), and after he took his cat back he was fired. We find out how climate change is affecting animals, and it turns out, we're not the only ones who are sweating our balls off.00:00 - Why Toy Story's Message of Imagination Matters03:14 - From Space Analogs to Personal Growth and Cozy Comfort15:18 - Gen Z's 'Bush in a Bikini' Trend and Pubic Hair Debates27:58 - The Amazon Driver Who Found His Lost Cat at a Delivery34:57 - Unraveling the Web of Lies: Maternal Instinct Documentary Part 142:35 - The Horrific Fake Pregnancy, Murder, and Baby Theft59:18 - HIPAA's Role and the Bystander Effect in a Tragic Case01:01:49 - Climate Change's Effect on Behavior and Episode TakeawaysBrain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:Head to https://cozyearth.com and use my code BRAINCANDY for an exclusive 20% off. Last Thursday, the satirical newspaper The Onion started its own version of Infowars, the infamous online hub of misinformation created by Alex Jones. The takeover has been years in the making. After Mr. Jones lost two defamation cases, his assets were put up for auction. The Onion took over Infowars and said it planned to convert the site into a parody of itself. Ben Collins, who is the chief executive of The Onion, and the comedian Tim Heidecker talk about what they plan to do with the newly acquired platform and why they pushed so hard to take control of it. We're belatedly celebrating America's birthday, and reminiscing about the bicentennial furniture craze of 1976. Susie read the book Into Thin Air about the 1996 Everest tragedy where many climbers perished, and the unintended consequences of the book. We discuss the Mel Robbins' book, Let Them, and the allegations that the idea was "stolen" from a viral poem, and we find out why certain things are not covered by copyright rules and intellectual property limits. We talk about the lawsuit between Patagonia and a drag queen named, Pattie Gonia, where the company is having to protect their trademark, but is inspiring ire from the TikTok community who are defending their queen. We hear why Japanese women are calling for the men in their country to be as committed to contributing to the domestic labor as they are at soccer stadiums where they've gotten a lot of attention for cleaning up after games. We giggle about dads who don't know the details about their children's lives. We're thinking about how when we do a reality tv show, we get suspended in time, and no matter how much we do in our lives we'll have to relive the same moments and have to defend ourselves over and over again. And we consider how that affects us. We get an update on the lady who married a *checks notes* ghost pirate (??). Apparently, things aren't going great. Sarah is excited all over again about birds that love to make video calls. We find out why the loneliest whale, Timmy, who beached and was stuck on the shore became a viral sensation and people who wanted to help probably made it worse. Why did a Greek historian standing at the foot of the Great Pyramid in 450 BC record that its builders were fed on onions, garlic, and radishes — and what does the archaeology say about whether he was right? Who were the people who actually built the pyramids, and what does a daily logbook written by a middle-ranking official called Merer, found in a Red Sea harbour in 2013, tell us about the greatest construction project in human history? And why does the onion, cut open to reveal its concentric rings, turn out to be both the fuel of the pyramid builders and a sacred image of eternity?Join John as he tells the story of Egypt and the onion — Herodotus, the workers' city at Giza, the oldest papyrus ever found, and the vegetable that runs through Egyptian life from the Predynastic period to breakfast this morning...----------In Sponsorship with J&K Fresh. The customs broker who is your fruit and veggies' personal bodyguard. Margo is joined by comedy writer, creator, and entrepreneur best known as the founder of The Onion, Scott Dikkers. Scott served as editor-in-chief and co-owner during its first two decades, helping shape one of the most influential satire publications of all time. In this episode, Margo sits down with Scott to explore the surprising mechanics behind creativity and why inspiration isn't something you wait for—it's something you build. Drawing from decades of experience creating successful entertainment, Scott shares practical insights on developing creative habits, embracing constraints, overcoming self-doubt, and creating work that connects with people. Margo and Scott discuss: Why creativity is less about talent and more about building repeatable systems and habits. How constraints, deadlines, and structure often produce stronger creative work than unlimited freedom. The importance of creating lots of ideas instead of waiting for the perfect one to appear. How humor can become a powerful tool for resilience, connection, and making sense of difficult experiences. Practical strategies for quieting your inner critic and separating the creative process from the editing process. Why sharing your work, seeking honest feedback, and surrounding yourself with a creative community are essential ingredients for long-term growth. Turns out, it's not fun to be at the mercy of editors trying to tell a particular story. A woman got a tattoo of her child's name, but there was a typo, and her solution is WILD. We celebrate the pianist who got the chance of a lifetime to perform when the pro keyboardist fell ill at a concert. We debate the question of custody of an embryo in the event of a divorce. Susie talks about a mummy whose gut was growing yeast, and we are not happy with what the scientists decided to do with it. We'll give you one dumb guess.Brain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:Download HILY Dating App from the App Store or Google Play, or visit https://hily.comGo to https://thrivecausemetics.com/BRAINCANDY for an exclusive offer of 20% off your first order.Visit https://www.carawayhome.com/braincandypod to take an additional 10% off using code BRAINCANDYPOD on your next purchase.TDM-RESERVATION: 1. Sarah is hyped about her new look. We're calling it athletic chic. We learn about a religious festival where people compete to make the most noise, and in so doing, priceless art pieces were destroyed. We find out the details of the world's most expensive home, and Susie wishes the owner a lifetime of pain and agony. Susie's sister is fact checking Sarah about how to deal with a bear sighting, and we just hope we're never in that position because there's some confusion. A gym is being sued because the "grunting" of the members is so loud the neighbors can't get a moment's rest. We lament the death of cursive handwriting and also (the atrocious) spelling of humans. We are mad about horse-drawn carriages. Why do they still exist? But good news--cereal boxes are bringing back toys. Finally! Plus, we hear how scientists discovered that fog is ALIVE. Susie went for her eye appointment, so she's glowing, obviously. Hear what the inside of her eye looks like and how her doctor crush is going. Sarah reveals a statistic about women in movies, and it's not good news. We learn what kind of music animals like to get it on to and it makes us wonder if certain songs are more appealing to ADHD brains. We learn how they found out that pigeons were hanging out with humans 1,000 years before we used to think. We find out why the United States was fighting with other countries over bird poop. Sarah comments on Rosie O'Donnell's facelift, and explains why she thinks Rosie's on to something. Susie talks about her hatred of Brad Pitt and his dumb hair. We learn why urban birds like cigarette butts. And we hear why Sarah had to confront a fellow camper recently.Brain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:Download HILY Dating App from the App Store or Google Play, or visit https://hily.comGet $10 off your first month's subscription and free shipping when you visit https://nutrafol.com and enter promo code BRAINCANDYDownload the DraftKings Casino app and sign up with code BRAINCANDY to claim your Flex Spins and experience Cashingo—the feature you can't play anywhere else!TDM-RESERVATION: 1. This week, in Whitewater, Colorado, a horribly murdered man sparks an investigation that shows that someone may have been after him for a while, even trying to blow up his car, weeks before his death. But a threatening note to his widow, claiming "you're next" blows the case wide open, leading to a treasure trove of evidence. The suspect turns out to be the last person that the dead man would've expected, and it also turns out that this murderer has no depths to which they will not sink!! Along the way, we find out that there are an awful lot of ghost stories in the mountains, that when someone tries to blow you up, you should maybe be pretty curious to find out who did it, and that cutting a barcode off of a card doesn't mean it's not traceable!! Susie talks about Red Panda, the half-time phenom, who rides a 7ft tall unicycle whilst throwing plates with her feet onto her head. It's a whole thing. We find out about an astronaut who almost drowned on a "routine" spacewalk, which has Sarah reeling. We find out how Sarah almost choked to death, but more importantly, Susie found out she does NOT know the international sign for choking. We hear how WiFi can identify people in the room, and it's creepy af. Susie's sister questions Sarah's advice about saying, "Hey, bear!" to scare off bears. We learn why American horses are obese. And Sarah cries about Temple Grandin. Sarah is back from Vegas where she attended the Enhanced Games, which allow competitors to use any FDA substance they want. We celebrate that, but we mourn the loss of buffets. Bring back the buffet! Susie watched a documentary about houses featured in movies and TV shows and the people who live in them. We hear why some owners hate it and others embrace their famous residences. We learned about the man who founded the E.L.F. makeup brand, who has received a higher calling and joined the priesthood! Susie watched the Hollywood Demons episode about Saved By the Bell, and we discuss the perils of childhood stardom and the tragedy of Screech's real life. Plus, we reminisce about the hilarious "star" experience we got when we were invited to the worst gifting suite of all time, but it keeps us humble.Brain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:Download HILY Dating App from the App Store or Google Play, or visit https://hily.go.link/4iJ1lGet 15% off OneSkin with the code BRAINCANDY at https://www.oneskin.co/BRAINCANDY #oneskinpod For 50% off your order, head to https://www.dailylook.com and use code BRAINCANDYGet 40% off your first order PLUS get a free item in every box for life when you go to https://www.hungryroot.com/braincandy and use code braincandyTDM-RESERVATION: 1.
