Sensitivity is to be easily offended or hurt. Being aware of what triggers you and how you react to certain things is imperative. Understanding that you have a right to voice your opinion - just as much as the next person. It's okay to agree to disagree with people. Every conversation doesn't have to result in an argument. Social media has so many layers to it. It's all in the way that you utilize it that determines how you allow it to effect you! Being mindful of the fact that social media is a platform and not meant to show every aspect of someone life. You have to do what's best for you. Protecting your peace is essential especially during the holiday season. It's time for to celebrate and enjoy the time off to rest. Make sure that you have boundaries during these times as it may be challenging to be around family. Its important to not allow yourself to feel obligated to show up for anyone else but yourself. Friends are a reflection of who you are and should be an asset to your life not a liability. Recognizing the importance of friendship and learning each other love language will keep the foundation solid. It's not about knowing and being surrounded by the most people - but making sure the depth of who you are as a person is understood and respected. To be canceled and held accountable goes hand in hand. Understanding that everyone has a right to their own perspective but there are some things that just cannot be accepted. Don't be afraid to voice your opinion and perspective about issues in life but be open-minded and willing to understand the next person perspective of things. Hold yourself to your own standards and be a voice of reason for others. LOVE!
Protecting a black woman doesn't come at the expense of diminishing yourself or trying to invalid how she may be feeling. Being able to support, uplift, and be a voice for women like Sha'Carri Richardson is extremely important. You do not know what the next individual may be going through and it's imperative to think about how your actions and words can effect someone. Extend grace, show up, and allow her to finish her race with confidence and not beating her down. #ProtectBlackWomen We Love you all!
The act of giving up vs stopping something that no longer serves its purpose. It's constant battle that we may go through within ourselves but you have to be willing to ask yourself: What is the situation costing me to remain here? Or am I just walking away because I don't feel worthy enough to continue? Quitting something because it no longer serves a purpose in your life doesn't make you a failure - it means that you aren't afraid to take a risk.
