Winter is coming.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀If you've been making progress, don't stall the progress by checking out and waiting for the new year to get back on track. If you currently aren't taking action, don't wait - start now. This is the time of year where it can become easier and easier to fall into the trap of comfort.Don't break the promises you made to yourself.Take action and keep going.
We live in a microwave world. We want things now. But everything worthwhile in life takes dedication and time. All the work you are putting in isn't being wasted. It is being stored. Keep showing up and taking action.
I just wanted to be transparent so you could understand my motivations and “my why” a little better.⠀I was moved to share a brief portion of my story after hearing Ben Fuller give his testimony two weeks ago. That evening, his words struck a chord with me and encouraged me to show greater vulnerability. You never know what effect one person's story will have on another, and perhaps mine will have a similar effect on one of you.Because I've spent a lot of time alone, I've learned that vulnerability has a lot of power. I frequently post things on this platform with the hope of inspiring or reaching one person. But it's also helpful for myself. I've shared this with very few people over the past 12 years but over the past two weeks, I've already shared it with many more.Even though I kept it brief, I intend to spend more time opening up about my life, my path, and all of my experiences that have impacted who I am today.
I decided to record this during one of my favorite days of the week. Every Tuesday morning for years I've shown up for myself and do interval sprints. It's not always easy but I do it. Having non-negotiables is crucial. And nothing has helped my mental health more than my early morning rituals. In this episode I decided to share that and also some thoughts that were on my mind during my rest time between sprints. Hope you enjoy.
There are many things out of our control. But, there are also many things we can control.
Goals are cool. It feels good when you talk about them or when you write them down. But goals do not produce a result. They only set a direction. However, your daily systems are the processes that lead to the results. Focus on your daily systems. Focus on your habits. Focus on how you can win the day. Shift your mindset and understand that mastery requires patience.Life is not a sprint. Focus on your current trajectory rather than your current results. Learn to fall in love with the process and seek joy in the mundane.
In this episode I expand on winter is coming(part 1) diving a little into what I like to do on a daily basis to set myself up for success every day.
