I’ve spent months in a bit of a funk and without creative energy. Today, though, let’s look at Psalm 19. In this podcast, I encourage you to look at the list of benefits there are if you obey what God says and ask Him what one change you could make this week to start experiencing those rewards in your life. I observe that: What God has to say is good; When I read what God has to say in the Bible, the sins lurking under the surface in my heart get exposed to the light of God and HIs grace; When I make them the meditation of my heart through the day, I get to be pleasing to God; What God says, if obeyed, brings a long list of rewards with it. We are all in the nowhere between two somewheres, aren’t we? We are looking at a new and different world and the future isn’t clear for most of us. We can tell the changes we’ve experienced will change the future, but we can’t see with clarity what is around the corner. In this episode learn how to navigate these times with peace, grace and hope.

All of us communicate change at different times in our life. Today I am focusing on two important principles that will make the results of your communication more fruitful.

As we live our lives, let’s keep the perspective of heaven and hope in God. Let’s live every day listening for God’s quiet nudges and assignments and carry them out quickly. Let’s pay attention to the goodness of God and let Him be our refuge in this difficult time. Let’s not let the prospect of death frighten us, but hold on to our hope in Christ Jesus for a future in heaven forever.

God is with us. Are we looking for Him? Are we grateful? Do we have a friendship with Him? Are we listening for His voice? Are we obeying the quiet prompts to call someone, send a meal, send a text. Those acts of kindness are God-inspired.

During this global pandemic we need hope, but not the kind we talk of when we say, “I hope you get better,” or “I hope I don’t get sick.” God offers us and anchor in heaven during this storm.

I have learned much from a book by William Bridges called Transitions. In this podcast, I’m going to share the key points of his work and how they apply to us.

Who do you have the most difficulty listening to? Do you lead a team that digresses into competition and verbal sparring? Apply these principles of listening with humility and let me know what God does for you in it.

For organizations and for people, knowing what we value drives our outcomes. They show up in how we treat ourselves and others, what we buy or don’t buy, what we watch online, and what news services we follow.

When we know where we want to end up, we make choices through life that move us to that destination. Do you know what you value in life? Do you know what you want people to say about you when you die?

When we experience the pain of life our enemy tells us we have no choice, that we just have to be a victim or a survivor. But we do have a choice. Let's choose life!

We need times of stillness to explore our feelings, our joys, our disappointments, our purpose, and our dreams.

In order for us to be leaders people love to follow, we need to let go of pride and insecurity and the contempt they breed. We need to have an honest understanding of our strengths AND weaknesses. When we do our leadership will be marked by confidence, honesty, kindness and humility.

We all need friendships with trusted people to defeat loneliness.

Leadership means we take risks. Sometimes those risks are "dumb" and sometimes they're calculated. I've done both. Have a listen.
