Hi pals, Welcome to another episode of Culture Club. We start off with a little chat about mental health in yet another lockdown. What are some ways you're keeping sane? Next, we dissect the double-whammy of Gen Zs in American politics. Olivia Rodrigo asked young people to stay "happy and healthy" by getting vaccinated while Addison Rae introduced herself to a certain disgraced US president in Las Vegas. This sparked a conversation around the celebrification of politicians, is it sneaking into Australia? 17-year-old actress Millie Bobby Brown was unfairly targeted by an ex-beau on a live stream this week. The revolting video makes us question why society let former teen pop stars date older men in the 00s as well as the dangers of hypersexualising teen girls. We read from this article titled How We've Failed Millie Bobby Brown by Alia E. Dastagir for USA Today.Funnily enough, we both recommend content from ABC iView. Maggie recommends the rom-com series Starstruck while Jas recommends the documentary series Ms Represented with political journalist Annabel Crabb. Katie Zhou created our fab new cover art and India Raine is our wonderful producer and composer of our jingle. Now, more than ever, we need an anthem. Graduation season is upon us, Stay-At-Home orders are being extended while others are being lifted... So, what better way to get some of that anxiety, stress and numbness out than with a little Bon Jovi. While on one of her morning runs, DeDe shares how one song basically saved her and she found herself belting out the tunes while crying at the same time. The lyrics to this song ring so true in this current time, and the ladies can't help but share them with all of you. DeDe and Chelsea also show some love for the Graduating Class of 2020 before rounding out the episode with the remaining voice memos from our fellow Tribe members. The Ladies can't thank everyone who contributed enough for opening your heart and sharing it with all of us. We are all forever changed. Until next time, friends, we're halfway there! We are all livin' on a prayer! Keep shining bright! From the shootings at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Route 91 music festival in Las Vegas and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, the issue of gun violence has caused fervor in our political discourse. What would it look like for us to get behind the myths, distorted narratives and sloganeering in order to observe the true nature of violence in our country? What would being exposed to that truth do to us? In this episode three specific beliefs about guns are explored and analyzed.
