Welcome back to the Red Hand Podcast. It has been a while. Now that the side-show distraction of the World Cup is over, we are back to the main event - the URC - as Ulster prepare to face Zebre away in their opening game. The dust has settled on yet another disappointing campaign as Ireland yet again crashed out in the quarters. We won't dwell on this - plenty has been said by others about their early departure. Suffice to say, we would have won if more Ulster men had been on the field. I'm joking of course, but it's worth thinking about the Ulster contingent (or lack of) in the Ireland squad and look ahead to which players from the current Ulster squad will feature prominently for Ireland in the coming years. It has been a summer of change at Ulster and we consider these changes - the powers that be have decided to rip up the hallowed turf at Ravenhill and replace it with a plastic one. We've also said farewell to a number of players in the off-season including the likes of fan favourites Craig Gilroy, Duane Vermeulen, Jeff Toomaga-Allen and Ian Madigan. We're sad to see them go, but we'll also be welcoming new signings Dave Ewers, Steven Kitschoff as well as James French. We will look forward to watching some promising youngsters step up to hopefully fill the void. Of course, there's also the small matter of our season opener against Zebre to talk about. To discuss all of the above I'm joined by Nathan, Ian, Patrick and Paul.

The Six Nations is upon us and so a weekend full of rugby awaits. There are senior and Under 20 games to preview, as well as Ulster Rugby's visit of Connacht to the Kingspan Stadium. The naming rights of that ground are also on the agenda of this week's podcast, as is Craig Gilroy's controversial yellow card in last weekend's win over Scarlets. Joining host Gareth Hanna to do all that are the Belfast Telegraph's rugby correspondent Jonathan Bradley and reporter Adam McKendry.

The Ulster Rugby Round Up is here again to provide the soundtrack to your commute to or from work, whichever you should choose. As always, Gareth Hanna picks the brains of rugby reporters Jonathan Bradley and Adam McKendry as they look ahead to another potentially season-defining tie. Jonno Gibbes leads Ulster into his second game in charge, at home to Edinburgh as the chase for play-off spots tightens up in the Pro 14. There are also bonus point wins for Ulster and Ireland to dissect with special attention given to Craig Gilroy, Johnny McPhillips and a certain Jacob Stockdale. Skills coach Niall Malone gives his view on the links to a move for Gibbes while John Andrew looks ahead to where Friday evening's game against Edinburgh will be won and lost. In the club rugby segment, good-luck charm Adam looks back on Belfast Harlequins' first Division 2B win of the season and he talks to centre Mattie McKenzie. Make sure you subscribe to the podcast.

William Davies spoke to Kieran Keane and Quinn Roux prior to the Ulster match in the Sportsground on Saturday. We also have the Ulster perspective from Craig Gilroy and Darren Cave. The injury list is not happy reading this week for the most part, but the return of Jarrad Butler to training is a plus. Eric Elwood gives us his thoughts on a good performance from the Eagles last Sunday and Dave Finn runs the rule over guys who put their hand up for selection in that match.
