This is the first episode in our podcast's history where we will be sharing a recording call of a coaching session with one of our clients who actually lives in Australia and is just finishing up Chiropractic school and already has training in advanced soft tissue training systems. In the call today we cover the following: Practitioner self-care. Any thoughts or strategies for preserving the health of hands, particularly thumbs, for the long-term Sciatic nerve adhesion at the hip external rotators and hamstrings. Is this a hugely under-diagnosed and untreated problem? I've had some cases where some weird hip and lower extremity issues (chronic) have disappeared after addressing the nerve path. Outside of the Integrative Diagnosis system, I've never seen it acknowledged as a potential problem, but the results for the patient are significant The best recommendation for protecting the cervical spine while sleeping. Pillow recommendations? They have been extremely productive for both parties and the hope is to help others out there as well! As always if you want to be part of the soft tissue practice revolution here's what you need to do: 1. Visit our facebook page www.facebook.com/thesofttissuedoc and request to join our group. 2. Today's episode is all about accountability, more specifically for your patients in their practice. Back in 2017, with the help of my mentor Dr. William Brady, who created the Integrative Diagnosis system we came up and tested an idea called a "case fee." Essentially this was getting the patient to commit and pay for all their treatment upfront and paid in full. It was a completely new concept when it comes to applying the components of soft tissue treatment and in the conservative treatment model. It wasn't the nonsense of the decompression guys out there charge 5-10k upfront and tricking patients into care they didn't really need, it was all about getting a commitment from the patient to get fully better and see treatment all the way through. There was a lot of ups and downs, but in the end all the kinks were figured out and it has proven to be an absolute game-changer in the treatment model and getting patients a chance to see a full resolution for their injury! On the newest installment of my podcast I am diving deep into my own injuries and what they taught me as a doctor and as a patient. I was pretty rough on my body over the years, mostly from bashing my head into other humans playing football all the way into college. Along the way I took on a lot of wear and tear, blew out several discs in my neck and back and had more concussions than I can remember. One of the most humbling experiences for me was back in mid 2016 when the pain and dysfunction was getting so bad it was not only effecting my work but also my own quality of life. I was one of those bad patients who didn’t get enough treatment of follow my own advice. Getting my own injury properly treated and managed by a great doctor, named William Brady who is the founder of Integrative Diagnosis was one of the best investments in my own health and growth as a doctor I have ever made. Dr. William Brady is a disruptor in the soft tissue and joint injury management space. Having graduated as valedictorian in his class from National Chiropractic College, Dr. Brady quickly realized that his education was inadequate as a means to resolving injury. He learned the Active Release Techniques system and became an instructor on their staff only to learn that this system too left him wanting more. This is when Dr. Brady started Integrative Diagnosis – a diagnostic system to determine which soft tissue structures should be treated and how. His system is unparalleled in the management of soft tissue injury. In this episode Dr. Brady discusses the presence of adhesion as a legitimate soft tissue injury – we cover the scientific literature surrounding adhesion, what the skeptics say, how Dr. Brady built his system, and so much more. This is a must listen for anyone dealing with pain or dysfunction.
