December 3, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 58 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers making several transactions on Tuesday as they get ready to play the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. We discuss the waiving of CB Darius Slay and how the writing was on the wall for that move to happen. We also discuss Slay being waived with a non-injury settlement and what that may or may not mean. We also discuss the problems the Steelers have had when it comes to signing defensive players over the age of 30. The Steelers claimed former Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen off waivers on Tuesday so Alex and I discuss that transaction. We go over Thielen's fit on offense, how much playing time he might see, and what is addition to the 53-man roster might mean when it comes to WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who remains on the team's practice squad. We discuss the possibility of both Thielen and Valdes-Scantling playing on Sunday against the Ravens. The Steelers won't have DT Derrick Harmon (knee) on Sunday so we discuss what a big deal that might be when it comes to stopping the Ravens' rushing attack in Baltimore. We also make sure to go over the fact that CB James Pierre (concussion) and ILB Patrick Queen (glute) are starting the week off with questionable listings after both were injured in the game this past Sunday. Steelers HC Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference and Tuesday, and he certainly gave us quite a few talking points to discuss. We roll through the notable things Tomlin said on Tuesday. The outcome of the Steelers Sunday game against the Ravens has a large swing of playoff probabilities attached to both teams so Alex and I go over what ESPN has listed. We also discuss how there's a good chance that the AFC North division might be won by a team with a 9-8 record. With the All-22 tape from the Steelers' Sunday home loss to the Buffalo Bills now fully digested by us, Alex and I discuss the bad, ugly and very little good that we uncovered from that when it comes to the team's offensive, defensive, and special teams play. Should TE Jonnu Smith be sat down for Sunday's game against the Ravens? We go over some seldom-used stats related to how the Steelers' offense has performed so far this season when he is on and off the field. If Tomlin remains the head coach of the Steelers past the 2025 season, will and should the Steelers fire OC Arthur Smith and DC Teryl Austin? Alex and I make sure to address that question later in this show. This 110-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted and we wrap things up by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. The Chicago Bulls are dealing with a growing list of injuries, raising major concerns as they prepare to face the Brooklyn Nets. With key players banged up and the rotation stretched thin, Chicago will need strong performances from its young core — including Josh Giddey, and Matas Buzelis — to stay competitive. In this video, we break down the Bulls' current injury situation, how it affects their game plan, and what fans should realistically expect heading into the matchup against Brooklyn.Join this channel to get access to perks:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNS5lF_I3qBpGLGWllvyF8g/joinWhat do you guys think?Follow us on Social Mediahttps://linktr.ee/KognacBoyzLeave us a voicemail773-242-9219#chicagobulls #chicagobullsnews
Two Thursday games rattled the calendar and the Detroit Lions. The week felt sideways. The noise got loud. The product wobbled. Strip away the spin. What we learned matters more than what we hoped. Headlines You Cannot Trust The injury chatter swung like a gate in the wind. Ragnow went from absent to savior to ghost in a blink. Kirby Joseph told people his knee was cooked, then showed up at practice in a big brace. That is whiplash. This team is usually clear with its injury tone. Not this week. The lesson is simple. Do not let a headline set your expectations. Watch who lines up. Listen to how they move. The Detroit Lions need stability in December, not rumor traffic. The churn even spilled into odd notes about Lamb Barney. It all fed a theme. Confusion. Mixed messages. A week when Allen Park felt less buttoned up than normal. In the NFL, clarity is competitive advantage. The Lions did not have it. Fundamentals Are Bleeding the Defense This defense has to get back to basics. Communication in zone is off. Handoffs in the secondary are late. Aidan Hutchinson is sprinting upfield and running out of plays. Too many snaps look like hero ball. Too few look like assignment football. That gap shows up in explosives and third downs that should die but do not. The fix is not complicated. Line up right. Fit gaps. Tackle. Trust leverage. Make the play that is there. Coaches have called it out. Players have echoed it. The standard slipped the past couple of weeks. It must snap back now. Interior Offensive Line Is Priority One Nothing on offense works if the middle caves. Jared Goff is getting heated up. The run game is choppy despite talent in the backfield. Interior pressure ruins timing and rhythm. Games, blitzes, and straight-ahead power are splitting the A and B gaps. That is the story. Anyone not named Penay Sewell has room to grow. That is the blunt truth. The offseason answer is clear. Fix the interior. But the Detroit Lions cannot wait for March. For the next five weeks, protect the pocket interior first. Get the ball out. Stay out of long yardage. That keeps the play sheet open and the hits down. Five Weeks to Reclaim Their Edge This team is not as good as we thought. Not right now. Staff changes hit. Injuries took a toll. Execution dipped below last year's crisp level. Coaching has to be better Monday through Friday and again on Sunday. That includes clock work, preparation, and corrections. The doomers get their day after a week like this. Fair. The enemies list is short though. It is the details. The Detroit Lions can still write a December worth keeping. Start with discipline on defense. Clean up the interior on offense. Cut the noise. Play to the plan. The Detroit Lions Podcast framed the week around those truths. The path forward is narrow, not closed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ANEFDHr-5w #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #aidanhutchinson #frankragnow #jackcampbell #kirbyjoseph #jaredgoff #penaysewell #interioroffensiveline #interiorpressure #aandbgaps #zonecommunication Learn more about your ad choices. Ted and Neel break down Chelsea vs Arsenal and what the match told us about where both clubs actually stand right now. They get into why these two sides look like the Premier League's most complete teams, what made the match tactically strange, and how Chelsea have quietly benefitted from continuity this season. Then, a horrible list of names to replace Arne Slot and why Real Madrid's Xabi Alonso could be a name to watch. Then, Patrick joins to discuss Spurs' season unraveling as their midfield issues finally catch up to them, and why no coach can solve it without real passers. Then a look at PSG's wobble, the drop in chance quality, and whether Luis Enrique can time another late-season surge. Enjoy! In this episode of She Who Dares Wins, Michelle sits down with Becca Worgan — the current Natural World's Strongest Woman under 82 kg and possibly the calmest, most grounded powerhouse you'll ever meet.Becca didn't grow up dreaming about lifting atlas stones or dragging cars for fun. She only started Strongman in 2019… and then decided to go and dominate it. Casual. We dig into how she built her strength, both the muscle and the mindset. She talks about juggling university, work, and training without losing her sanity, and why stepping into a Strongman gym as a woman can feel like walking into a secret society — but shouldn't.Becca also shares how a tiny pivot from bodybuilding to Strongman changed everything, why the crew at Steel City Gym in Middlesbrough helped her level up fast, and how community can do what discipline alone can't.There's also plenty on injury setbacks, rebuilding confidence, stepping into commentating, and why she's training to become a physio specifically for strength athletes — because she wants to give back to the sport that gave her direction. It's an episode full of grit, straight talk, and reassurance for every woman who's ever looked at a barbell and thought, “Not sure that's for me.” Spoiler: it is.Key TakeawaysRelentless focus pays off. Becca's success comes from showing up, even on the grim days when motivation left the chat.Your environment matters. A supportive gym isn't a luxury — it's rocket fuel. Steel City proved that.Strength isn't a boys' club. Women face real barriers entering strength sports, but Becca's on a mission to tear those down.Make your passion your career. From competing to commentating to becoming a physio, Becca's building a future rooted in the sport she loves.Setbacks don't define you. Injuries happen — the comeback is where the real mental strength shows up.Notable Quotes“Once you know how to use everything and what you're doing, that fear will go. You can get really confident really quickly in it.”“I just love being strong. It quickly became, I'm more interested in what my body can do than what it looks like.”“It's not selfish. An hour at the gym three or four times a week isn't selfish at all — you can definitely find that time.”“I've never been so pleased about something in my life. All that work was worth it when I won.”“If you're in the northeast, send me a message. December 1, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 57 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into our overarching thoughts on the Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 13 Sunday home loss to the Buffalo Bills. As you can probably imagine, this show begins with a lot of gloom, despair, and agony vibes. In our weekly housekeeping portion of this Monday show, which is sponsored by the fine folks at TouringPlans.com, Alex and I talk about the Sunday afternoon inactive list and how the Steelers decided to sit CB Darius Slay as one of their five inactive players against the Bills. The Steelers sustained a few injuries Sunday, so we discuss what happened to ILB Patrick Queen and CB James Pierre. We also discuss QB Aaron Rodgers getting beat up more on Sunday against the Bills. The Steelers made a few transactions on Saturday with one of those being T Broderick Jones being placed on the Reserve/Injured list. We discuss Jones likely being out for the season and the offseason decision the Steelers have with him when it comes to his fifth-year option. After going through the newsy items related to Saturday and Sunday, Alex and I look at what all transpired at Acrisure Stadium against the Bills. We first talk about the play of the Steelers' defense and how poor things looked on that side of the football once again. We discuss the historical day the defense had, clearly a negative, and how the Bills offense ran at will against the unit by essentially spamming just two plays. We discuss the Steelers' defense being unable to get to Bills QB Josh Allen on Sunday and how he used his legs, instead of his arm, to really impact the game. We also discuss the coverage bust the Steelers defense had on his lone touchdown pass as well. After beating up on the defense, Alex and I go over the lackluster play from the Steelers offense against the Bills. We talk about the unit's inability to run many plays, the overall lack of a running game, and how there was no passing game down the field to speak of. We discuss a few poor decisions that QB Aaron Rodgers seemingly made against the Bills and how he remains out of sync with TE Jonnu Smith. We go over a few things Rodgers had to say postgame in addition to things that OLB T.J. Watt said to the media. We also discuss the reaction Mike Tomlin had to Sunday's loss postgame. We also talk about the poor offensive schemes and game plans that OC Arthur Smith has put on display recently. The "Fire Tomlin" chants are getting louder in Pittsburgh, so Alex and I discuss that topic. We discuss our faith and lack of faith in Tomlin moving forward. We discuss the Steelers only having two home games remaining and how Tomlin is probably thankful for that. Special teams certainly played a role in the Steelers' loss to the Bills, so Alex and I make sure to hit on what went wrong in that phase of the game on Sunday. Alex and I certainly aren't bullish at all on the Steelers when it comes to their final five games and thus playoff chances. This 109-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted and we wrap things up by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. #942 | Ed, Daniel and Dharnish break down the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace with a focus on what actually drove the result. The first half offered little control or invention. The second half looked sharper but still exposed the same structural problems that keep holding United back. They examine the setup, the halftime tweaks, and why the team continue to lean so heavily on set pieces for threat. There's a detailed look at Bruno's role, Lisandro Martinez's influence on the back line, and why the wingback positions remain such a drag on the system. Injuries, profiles, and mismatched roles all come into play. The episode wraps with a frank look at recruitment. What profiles are missing, what could fix the open play issues, and which moves in the next windows would actually move the squad toward something coherent. 00:00 Introduction 00:52 Match overview 02:02 First half 03:23 Lineup and approach 05:18 Player profiles and performances 08:14 Second half changes 11:05 Defence and Martinez 16:30 Wingback issues 19:07 Open play chance creation 21:58 Squad needs and transfer ideas 24:46 Set pieces 29:15 Closing thoughts If you are interested in supporting the show and accessing a weekly exclusive bonus episode, check out our Patreon page or subscribe on Apple Podcasts. How should the Patriots adjust to the o-line injuries?

This week, host Richard Graves sits down with former Great Britain and England international basketball player Kofi Josephs, an athlete whose journey through elite sport has been anything but ordinary. From growing up in Birmingham to playing in front of Michael Jordan at the Jordan Brand Classic, suffering two major hip surgeries in the US collegiate system, becoming the British Basketball League's highest-scoring British player, and navigating the hidden psychological battles behind performance… Kofi's story is raw, real, and deeply relevant for anyone working in elite sport. Now the founder of WhyNotI, a preventative mental health tech platform designed specifically for elite athletes, Kofi is on a mission to reshape how professional environments understand – and support – the person behind the performer. This episode offers an unfiltered look at the pressures, cultural challenges, expectations, and mental load that athletes carry, and the systemic changes needed to truly support sustainable high performance. What You'll Learn The hidden mental toll of elite sport and why performance alone never tells the full story. How perfectionism, pressure, and identity shape athlete wellbeing – and where support structures fall short. Why mental health must be preventative, not reactive, if teams want consistency and longevity in performance. Insights into the collegiate system in the US and its cultural, emotional, and psychological challenges for young athletes. Why separating “the athlete” from “the person” is flawed, and how reframing this changes support strategies. The crucial role of coaches, GMs, and ownership in building environments where mental health is prioritised. How WhyNotI is using technology, psychology, and data to influence policy, culture, and player care across elite sport. About Kofi Josephs Kofi Josephs is a former professional basketball player who represented England at the Commonwealth Games and Great Britain at EuroBasket, competing across elite leagues worldwide including Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, and Iceland. In this episode of the show, Binksy, Baldy and Stu look back at South Africa's 2-0 sweep of India, and look ahead to the upcoming series between the Black Caps and the West Indies, as well as the second Ashes Test. We start the show by discussing South Africa's dominant victory against India in the second and final Test of that series, which saw lower-order runs from Senuran Muthusamy and Marco Jansen backed up by impressive performances from Jansen and Simon Harmer with the ball. There's plenty of praise for the visitors, but why were they able to be so successful? Are they better than we thought? Was Shubman Gill's injury that impactful? And how much pressure does another home sweep pile on Gautam Gambhir? Next we head back to New Zealand, where we look forward to the Test series against the West Indies, which starts at Hagley Oval on Tuesday. It's a matchup that favours the Black Caps on paper, but how much have injuries impacted the strength of this Kiwi side? We talk through possible lineups, what's at stake for the likes of Devon Conway and Tom Latham with a big 12-18 months ahead, and the role Mitchell Santner could fill at number 7 in the batting order. To round out the show, we chat about the Ashes, with team selection in focus. Mark Wood is out for England, Pat Cummins isn't yet back for Australia and the Travis Head or Usman Khawaja to open the batting question still remains. Plus: could Nathan Lyon miss out, and should we even have pink-ball Tests at all in the Ashes? We'll be back in your feed next week to review the Tests and anything else that catches our eyes from around the world. Between January 6-9, 2007, Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom were held captive, tortured, raped, and murdered by five perpetrators at a house on Chipman Street in Knoxville, Tennessee. The details are documented through court testimony, medical examiner reports, and forensic evidence are among the most horrific ever presented in an American courtroom. Prosecutors, judges, and jurors struggled to maintain composure. This episode documents what happened during those 36 hours. It is extremely difficult to hear but their families insisted the world know the truth because only by understanding the full horror can we appreciate why justice mattered so much.In memory of Channon and Chris, whose families demanded the truth be told.Support ResourcesFor Survivors of Violence:https://www.rainn.org/ - RAINN (1-800-656-4673)https://www.thehotline.org/ - National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233)https://www.crisistextline.org/ - Crisis Text Line (Text HOME to 741741)https://988lifeline.org/ - 988 Suicide & Crisis LifelineFor Families of Murder Victims:https://www.pomc.org/ - Parents of Murdered Childrenhttps://victimsofcrime.org/ - National Center for Victims of Crimehttps://www.ncvc.org/ - National Crime Victim Law InstituteSources:https://www.newspapers.com/ (Historical archive - subscription required)https://www.knoxnews.com/ (Search "Christian Newsom" for extensive archive)https://abcnews.go.com/ (Search "Channon Christian")https://www.cnn.com/ (Coverage of trials and scandal)https://www.foxnews.com/ (Michelle Malkin coverage 2007)https://www.wbir.com/ (WBIR-TV extensive trial coverage)https://www.wate.com/ (WATE 6 On Your Side)https://www.wvlt.tv/ (WVLT Local 8 News)https://www.tncourts.gov/ (Tennessee State Courts)https://www.tsc.state.tn.us/ (Tennessee Supreme Court opinions)https://www.knoxcounty.org/criminal/ (Knox County Criminal Court)https://law.justia.com/cases/tennessee/ (Tennessee case law database)https://scholar.google.com/ (Search: "State v. On this weeks "Last Word" with Bob Condotta, Seattle Times and Jason "Puck" Puckett, they jump into the mounting injuries for the Seahawks secondary, Sam Darnold versus the Vikings and a debate of who is the best Seahawks player ever?
Today's guest is Reinis Krēgers, a former champion decathlete turned track and physical education coach. Reinis is dedicated to building complete movers: fast, coordinated, confident athletes who understand their bodies. His training blends classical sprint development with exploratory tasks, helping athletes develop physical literacy and long-term adaptability. In sports performance, we often fixate on exercises, cues, and optimizing micro-qualities in the moment. What we discuss far less, yet what often separates the elite, is the role of play, creativity, and culture. By looking closely at events like the pole vault and hurdles, we can see how a developmental, curiosity-driven approach benefits athletes of every sport. In this episode, Reinis shares the remarkable story of losing a finger, training exclusively with his non-dominant hand, and still setting a shot put PR. This opens the door to a rich discussion on cross-education, novelty, and how the brain actually learns movement. We explore play-based coaching, pole vault as a developmental super-tool, contrasts between Eastern and American coaching philosophies, youth sport creativity, and sustainable tendon development. It's a conversation full of insight, storytelling, and reminders of what truly anchors a lifelong athletic journey: curiosity, joy, and the art of falling in love with movement. Let athletes solve problems rather than repeat fixed patterns. Encourage outdoor play and varied surfaces to build natural coordination. Curiosity creates better movers than rigid instruction. 14:50 – Navigating injuries and staying in the sport Reinis shares how setbacks led him to rethink training instead of quitting. Use injuries as a signal to adjust training rather than push through blindly. Keep a competitive outlet during rehab to maintain identity and motivation. Return with smarter progression instead of trying to reclaim old numbers immediately. 23:40 – Constraints based learning from Czech training Reinis describes how training environments shaped movement without heavy cueing. Change the environment before changing the athlete. Use simple tasks and small boundaries to create automatic technical improvements. Let athletes feel solutions instead of chasing perfect positions. 33:05 – European versus American development Reinis contrasts long term models focused on movement quality rather than short term output. Early years should build durability, not just speed and strength metrics. Avoid rushing physical qualities before coordination and play are established. Development is a process of layering, not skipping steps. 45:10 – Bringing games and novelty back into training Reinis highlights how playful constraints improve responsiveness and decision making. Add game based movement to keep athletes adaptive under changing conditions. Use novelty sparingly to reawaken coordination and intent. Reduce scripted drills when athletes stop learning from them. 59:47 – Multi sport value and avoiding early specialization Reinis explains why single sport paths can limit long term performance. Multiple sports expand movement bandwidth and reduce overuse. Delay specialization until athletes have broad coordination skills. Early success does not guarantee long term development. 1:11:48 – Plyometrics and gradual tissue progression Reinis stresses that bounding and plyos require patience and slow tissue adaptation. Progress volume and intensity over seasons, not weeks. Start with low amplitude contacts before higher velocity work. Tendons adapt slower than muscles, so loading must reflect that timeline. 1:22:40 – Tendon health and long term loading approach Reinis shares what he learned from repeated injury cycles. Small, consistent loading beats aggressive spikes in volume. Build tolerance through frequency and controlled exposure. The goal is to stay in the game long enough for development to compound. Quotes from Reinis Krēgers "Good coaching has some mystery because we are not robots" "Kids should fall in love with the movement and the sport before anything else" "Constraints are the key word in my training method and philosophy" "Track and field without play is a dry and bad solution for long term success" "There is no such thing as a training methodology, it is the relationship between the coach and the athlete" "Sudden increases in load were always the trigger for my Achilles problems" "You want gradual and consistent work if you want the tissues to adapt" "Sleep enough and rest after good training, that is one of the most important things I tell young athletes" About Reinis Krēgers Reinis Krēgers is a Latvian track and physical preparation coach known for blending classical sprint mechanics with modern movement ecology. With a background in athletics and physical education, Reinis has built a reputation for developing athletes who are not only fast, but exceptionally coordinated, elastic, and adaptable across environments. Drawing from European sprint traditions, plyometric culture, and cutting-edge motor-learning principles, Reinis emphasizes rhythm, posture, and natural force expression before “numbers.” His training sessions regularly weave together technical sprint development, multi-planar strength, and exploratory movement tasks, giving athletes the bandwidth to become resilient movers rather than rigid specialists. Reinis works across youth, club, and competitive settings, helping sprinters, jumpers, and team-sport athletes gain speed, power, and physical literacy. His coaching is marked by clarity, intentionality, and an ability to meet athletes where they are, building them from foundational movement quality toward high-performance execution. Whether on the track or in the PE hall, Reinis' mission is the same: develop confident, capable movers who understand their bodies, enjoy the process, and carry a lifelong relationship with athleticism.

In this Wednesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers making a few practice squad transactions since our last show. We also discuss the news related to injured Steelers DL Daniel Ekuale being given a five-game suspension on Tuesday and the impact that has on him and the team. Alex and I then go over the list of injured Steelers players heading into Week 13 and that includes DT Derrick Harmon and T Broderick Jones already being ruled out for Sunday's home game against the Buffalo Bills. We discuss whether Calvin Anderson or Andrus Peat will replace Jones at left tackle on Sunday and if both DL Logan Lee and DL Brodric Martin-Rhodes will be active on Sunday with Harmon sidelined. Steelers HC Mike Tomlin addressed the health QB Aaron Rodgers on Tuesday, so we discuss the optimism he showed when it comes to the team possibly having their starter back on Sunday against the Bills. We also discuss the other injured players that Tomlin listed during his Tuesday press conference, As usual, Alex and I parse all of the notable talking points that came out of Tomlin Tuesday. We discuss what Tomlin had to say about the team's loss to the Chicago Bears this past Sunday, the late illegal formation penalty in that game and what he said about the play of QB Mason Rudolph in that contest. We also discuss Tomlin focusing on special teams play to open his Tuesday press conference. Tomlin was asked about the usage of the middle of the field in the passing game on Tuesday, so we go over his comments on that subject. Alex and I also look at some passing stats related to deep and ultra deep attempts so far this season as it relates to usage of the middle of the field. We also recap Tomlin essentially glossing over the defensive schematics used on one of the touchdown passes the Bears had on Sunday. With the All-22 tape from the Steelers' Sunday road loss to the Bears now fully digested by us, Alex and I discuss the good, bad and ugly that we uncovered from that when it comes to the offense, defense, and special teams. We start with the offense and go over the missed deep shots, the effectiveness of the running game, and the several second and long runs in that contest. After talking about the offensive play on Sunday, Alex and I move on to talk some about what we saw from the Steelers' defense on the All-22 tape from the Bears game. We go over the lack of pressure on Bears QB Caleb Williams in that Week 12 game, the opposing offense's ability to attack between the numbers in the passing game, and how that side of the football played against the Chicago running game. Alex and I mix in quite a few tape observations during this show and we make sure to discuss the recent play of several different players as well. Would it be a huge shock to most fans of the Steelers should the team beat the Bills on Sunday at home? We address that question later in this show. This 101-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted and we wrap things up by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices.
