An interesting life makes for an interesting dude. And Joe Vallee has had a very interesting life. He builds and repairs guitars, teaches at Roberto-Venn school of Luthiery, and has been the long-time guitar tech for the Doobie Brothers. He's been all over the world and rubbed elbows with quite a few of the biggest bands of all time. He spent some time as a runner in Chicago where he was responsible for such things as getting a couple hundred pounds of dry ice for Pink Floyd and retrieving Phil Lesh's briefcase from his hotel room. Find out what was in that briefcase and much, much more in this fun-filled episode.
On the second episode of Unleashed, Mitch Williams and Joe Vallee discuss MLB's Covid-19 testing protocol, how to deal with the Houston Astros, and the dynamic of the intentional pitch.
Another action-packed episode! Joining Philly Pressbox Radio this week are two great authors ("A Snowball's Chance: Philly Fires Back Against The National Media"), Matt Goldberg and Joe Vallee, to talk about all-things Philly sports: Do the Eagles still have a legitimate shot at a wild-card berth? What's up the Phillies and free agency? Plus, lifelong Phillies fan and talented musician (The Peace Creeps, The Road Dogs) Roy Fisher visits. In addition, Bill Furman and Jim "Chet" Chesko welcome Fred Hugo back for some Fantasy Football playoff talk, and we make our NFL Week 15 predictions.
Joe Vallee's late grandfather, Arthur Vallee, was a former Disney animator in the 1930s & 40s. Joe based the character and program off of the story book his grandfather wrote-- Rainbow Rabbit. Joe incorporated the book's themes of kindness, acceptance, tolerance, unity and inclusion into school lessons spanning grades Kindergarten through 4th. Learn more by visiting TheRainbowRabbit.com.

Expect a trip down memory lane on this episode of the Philly Pressbox Radio Roundtable, with stories about Wilt Chamberlain, Chuck Bednarik, the Broad Street Bullies, Pete Rose, Howard Cosell and much, much more. That's because our featured guest is a guy who has been a fixture on the Philadelphia sports scene the past 50 years: radio host Bill "The Loon" Werndl. With Joe Vallee, who also visits the show this week, Bill last year wrote a terrific book called "No Curveballs: My Greatest Sports Stories Never Told," which is a must read for any long-time Philly sports fan; there are dozens of great stories in there! Also on the program: co-hosts Bill Furman and Jim "Chet" Chesko reflect on how the Sixers have looked in Summer League basketball action, and ... what's expected from the Phillies after the All-Star break?
Something different on this episode of the Philly Pressbox Radio Roundtable as Bill Simmons, aka "El Wingador," joins Bill Furman and Jim "Chet" Chesko to talk about being a five-time Wing Bowl champion and his new book, "Snow on the Barb Wire," co-authored with Joe Vallee. The memoir goes into great detail about Bill's journey down a devastating and destructive road that led to his arrest and two years in prison. It's quite a story, and Bill will tell us all about it. Also on the show: Liberty Ballers Managing Editor Jake Pavorsky tells us what the trades of Nerlens Noel and Ersan Ilyasova mean for the 76ers' future, another fun "Random Q2" segment, and there's some Flyers and Phillies talk, too! Plus, we welcome a terrific new sponsor to the program: the Irish Rover Station House, a family-friendly bar and restaurant in Langhorne, PA.
Shoetooth stacks the lineup with Philly2Philly's Joe Vallee and TFFG's Kevin Moore, previewing Joe and Bill Werndl's new book No Curveballs, tackling fantasy football waiver wire, navigating through the Redskins' offense and defense, and taking a closer look at 76ers throwback center Joel Embiid.
Joe Vallee drops by the podcast to discuss his book "A Snowball's Chance: Philly Fires Back Against The National Media." He also has hot takes on Chip Kelly, the so called culture problem surrounding the Eagles and more!
