It's a great time to be a Hoosier. Brian Tonsoni is joined by Ryan Phillips and Bob Moats to break down Indiana basketball's newly released non-conference schedule, sort through the latest eligibility questions, and get ready for the defending national champion football Hoosiers to open the 2026 season against North Texas. Sam Alexis' eligibility remains unresolved, sparking a broader discussion about the NCAA, professional contracts, Summer League participation, and where college eligibility rules should ultimately draw the line. Victor Oladipo is attempting an NBA comeback, while a new documentary celebrates longtime Voice of the Hoosiers Don Fischer.Indiana volleyball earns a huge five-set victory over defending national champion Texas A&M, while IU men's soccer continues its strong start. The guys dig into a schedule featuring five power-conference opponents, including neutral-site matchups with Syracuse, Arkansas and Kentucky, plus home dates against UCF and Missouri. Add exhibitions against Butler, North Carolina and Western Kentucky, and IU will have plenty of opportunities to learn about itself before Big Ten play. Why the Arkansas-Kentucky back-to-back could provide an early measuring stick. How marquee games at Madison Square Garden and Lucas Oil can help Indiana build its NCAA Tournament résumé.Why the schedule feels appropriately ambitious for a veteran roster—and why the Big Ten alone can't be counted on to provide enough quality opportunities. The overlooked value of games against teams like Bellarmine and Tennessee Tech, whose styles could give IU useful early-season tests even if they aren't marquee opponents. And what would constitute a successful record in those five biggest non-conference games. Finally, attention turns to Memorial Stadium as Curt Cignetti and the defending national champions begin another season. Expectations have changed dramatically: IU has reloaded, the entire home schedule is sold out, and simply getting to six wins feels like ancient history. The guys discuss what to watch against North Texas, why nobody should overreact to the first game, and how football success is changing the entire Bloomington experience—from ticket demand and hotel prices to the atmosphere surrounding every home Saturday.

Could Caleb Wilson's ROY Case Be Hurt By The Bulls' Own Offense? | The Bulls Bench Scorer Already On The Roster

Could the Chicago Bulls' crowded offense hurt Caleb Wilson's Rookie of the Year case?On today's Chicago Bulls Central, Haize breaks down one of the biggest questions around the Bulls' young core: Can Caleb Wilson win Rookie of the Year while sharing the offense with Josh Giddey, Norman Powell and Matas Buzelis? Caleb was one of the best players in Summer League, and the league may be even higher on him than the national media, but one concern is real — Wilson may not have the same clean path to touches as some other rookies.Haize explains why Caleb is already a legitimate ROY candidate after averaging 23.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 1.3 steals in Summer League while shooting 50% overall and 41.9% from three. But the bigger discussion is how Tiago Splitter should structure Chicago's offense so Caleb gets enough quality looks without slowing down the development of Matas Buzelis. The key is understanding the difference between touches and shot attempts. Josh Giddey needs the ball to organize the offense, but he does not need to lead the team in shots. Norman Powell can score efficiently without hijacking possessions. Nic Claxton needs touches as a screener and roller, not as a high-volume scorer. That leaves room for Caleb and Matas if the Bulls build the offense correctly. Then Haize asks whether the Bulls' bench scorer may already be on the roster. Chicago explored Bennedict Mathurin, Jonathan Kuminga and Sylvain Francisco, but failed to land another scorer. Now the opportunity may fall to Dailyn Swain or Jaylin Sellers, two young players who offer completely different paths to solving the bench offense problem.Swain brings size, rim pressure, rebounding, defense and secondary creation. Sellers brings shooting, microwave-scoring upside and a more traditional bench scorer profile. Haize breaks down why Sellers may be the more likely immediate scorer, while Swain may be the more likely consistent rotation player.

Hank Morgan's journey through the NESCAC was a story of consistent growth, culminating in one of the best individual seasons in the conference. After four years at Hamilton College, Morgan improved year after year, breaking through as a First Team All-NESCAC selection as a junior before taking another major step as a senior and being named NESCAC Player of the Year. His development at one of Division III's premier conferences ultimately earned him an opportunity to chase his professional basketball dreams. Morgan's first year in the professional ranks was anything but conventional. He earned a spot with the Utah Jazz's G League affiliate through an open tryout and got off to a strong start before ultimately being waived. The opportunity didn't last long, though, as Morgan was picked up by the Maine Celtics, where he began to find his footing in a better situation. He averaged over 8 points per game while shooting above 40% from three, showing that his game could translate against professional competition. After a strong showing at NBA Summer League, Morgan has put himself in a position to continue climbing the professional ranks. The Celtics organization places a significant emphasis on evaluating its G League talent, giving Morgan a legitimate opportunity to earn another chance in the system. After going from a Division III standout to an NBA Summer League participant, his next step could be another opportunity to prove that he belongs at the professional level. Caleb Wilson Hype Is OUT OF CONTROL… But What If The Bulls Got HIM? | Where Are The Salary-Dump Picks? Why Bulls Fans Must Rethink Graham's Plan

The Caleb Wilson hype has officially gone wild — but what if some of it is actually justified? On today's Chicago Bulls Central, Haize breaks down why the comparisons to Tracy McGrady, Shawn Kemp, Pascal Siakam and Kevin Garnett may be too much for a rookie who has not played an NBA regular-season minute yet — while also explaining why the excitement around Caleb Wilson has a real foundation. Wilson's Summer League production was not just empty scoring: he averaged 23.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 1.3 steals and shot 41.9% from three in limited minutes.Haize explains why Caleb's ceiling is so fascinating: transition offense, rim pressure, rebounding, defensive versatility, weak-side rim protection and shooting upside. The key is not calling him KG or T-Mac — it's understanding that potential superstar traits are not the same thing as already being a superstar. The episode also asks the real Year 1 questions: Is Caleb's jumper real? Can he create in the half court? Does his defensive IQ match his defensive tools? And can the Bulls develop him properly without forcing him to carry the franchise immediately? Then Haize shifts to Bryson Graham and whether the NBA's new market has already complicated part of the Bulls' rebuild plan. Fans expected Chicago to absorb bad contracts and collect first-round picks, but that market has not really materialized this summer. With future first-round picks becoming more valuable, pick-protection rules changing, and front offices getting smarter about contract structure, Graham may need to evolve his strategy.Haize explains why Bulls fans should not criticize Graham for failing to take salary-dump deals that were not available — but also why flexibility cannot be the answer forever. Eventually, Graham must turn cap space, movable contracts, roster spots and young prospects into more talent.

ESPN Is Already Betting BIG On Caleb Wilson

ESPN is already betting big on Caleb Wilson's future — and Chicago Bulls fans should absolutely be paying attention. On today's Chicago Bulls Central, Haize reacts to ESPN's 2026 rookie forecast, where Caleb Wilson keeps showing up in conversations about superstardom, All-NBA upside, long-term ceiling, draft steals and even eventual championship potential. Wilson was not the No. 1, No. 2 or No. 3 pick, but ESPN insiders still ranked him among the rookies with one of the fastest paths to superstardom and the third-highest long-term ceiling in the class.Haize breaks down why this should raise excitement without creating unfair rookie-year expectations. ESPN did not project Wilson as the rookie with the biggest immediate winning impact, which suggests the national conversation is separating his long-term ceiling from his immediate readiness. For the Bulls, that means patience, development and a long runway should matter more than forcing Wilson to look like a star in October. The episode also looks at the bigger organizational challenge: ESPN clearly likes Wilson's talent, but Chicago has to create the right developmental environment around him with Tiago Splitter, Jordan Brink, Josh Giddey, Matas Buzelis and the right shooting/spacing pieces. ESPN even described the Bulls as launching a rebuild around Caleb Wilson, which makes this one of the most important developmental seasons in recent franchise history.Plus, Haize discusses whether the Bulls should take advantage of the Cleveland Cavaliers' reported interest in moving Max Strus. Strus is owed $16.7 million next season, Chicago has room below the luxury tax, and his career 37% three-point shooting could help a Bulls team still thin on spacing — but Bryson Graham should demand assets if the Bulls are helping Cleveland solve a financial problem. Finally, the Bulls lost one potential Summer League shooting gem, as Donovan Atwell was granted a fifth year of NCAA eligibility and is returning to Texas Tech. Atwell shot 45.8% from three last season in college and 48.5% from deep in Summer League, so seeing him return to school stings a little for a Bulls team that still needs shooting depth.

If Caleb Wilson Becomes A STAR, Bulls Ownership Has NO EXCUSES

Could Bryson Graham finally build a Chicago Bulls team worth spending on — and if he does, will ownership actually finish the job?On today's Chicago Bulls Central, Haize breaks down why Bulls fans do not need ownership spending recklessly right now. Chicago is rebuilding around Caleb Wilson, Matas Buzelis, Josh Giddey and a young core that still has major questions to answer. With the current CBA, there's a real difference between paying the luxury tax and pushing deep into apron restrictions, so spending just to prove a point would be bad roster management. But when the time comes? The excuses need to stop. The Bulls are valued at $6 billion, with Forbes estimating $160 million in operating income, while also noting Chicago has historically paid the luxury tax only once. That makes the eventual ownership test very real: if Graham develops a contender, will the Bulls actually pay like one?Haize lays out the triggers for when Bulls ownership should open the checkbook: Caleb Wilson becoming a legitimate star, Matas Buzelis proving he can be a true No. 2 or high-end No. 3, Josh Giddey proving the core works, the Bulls winning a playoff series, or a genuine difference-maker becoming available. Then the show shifts to the Bennedict Mathurin question. Do the Bulls actually need to rush into another scorer right now, or should 2026-27 be the year Chicago finds out what it already has in Dailyn Swain, Jaylin Sellers and Rob Dillingham? Swain brings size, downhill creation and two-way upside, while Sellers has a serious shooting résumé and already showed scoring flashes in Summer League. If Mathurin comes at a bargain price, he's worth discussing. But if the cost includes useful contracts, draft compensation, long-term money and major offensive usage, Haize explains why Chicago may be better off using this season as Bryson Graham's information season before attacking the scoring market in 2027.

The Chicago Bulls' 2026-27 schedule is here, and the first month may tell fans everything about where this rebuild really stands. On today's Chicago Bulls Central, Haize breaks down the Bulls' brutal early-season stretch that Joe Cowley labeled the “three weeks of hell.” From Oct. 26 through Nov. 16, Chicago faces Boston twice, New York twice, Philadelphia twice, San Antonio, Atlanta, Minnesota and Cleveland — all after opening with Toronto, Milwaukee and Washington, with six of the first eight games on the road.Haize explains why this stretch should not be judged strictly by wins and losses. Instead, the real questions are about Josh Giddey's decision-making, Matas Buzelis' scoring consistency, Caleb Wilson's NBA readiness, Nic Claxton's defensive impact, Tiago Splitter's adjustments, the bench hierarchy and whether the starting five actually works. Then the show shifts into Caleb Wilson's Rookie Revenge Tour. The 2026 Draft went AJ Dybantsa No. 1, Darryn Peterson No. 2, Cameron Boozer No. 3 and Caleb Wilson No. 4, and the NBA schedule gives Wilson eight chances to face the players drafted ahead of him. From Wilson vs. Dybantsa in the Bulls' home opener, to the winning-impact debate against Peterson, to the personal Summer League rematch with Boozer, these games could shape the Rookie of the Year race and the national perception of Chicago's rebuild.

The Chicago Bulls' NBA Cup schedule is official — and it might tell us very quickly how far Bryson Graham's rebuild has really come.On today's Chicago Bulls Central, Haize breaks down why the Bulls' NBA Cup group could be the perfect early-season measuring stick. Chicago opens group play Oct. 30 at Boston, then hosts Atlanta on Nov. 13, hosts Washington on Nov. 20, and finishes Nov. 25 at Charlotte. Each matchup tells us something different. Boston tests Chicago's ceiling against an East contender. Atlanta tests whether Josh Giddey and the Bulls can handle physical perimeter pressure. Washington gives fans the rebuild-vs-rebuild showdown with Caleb Wilson vs. AJ Dybantsa. And Charlotte may be the floor test — can the Bulls start passing teams in the Play-In tier?Haize also reacts to Patrick Williams being ranked among the NBA's worst contracts and whether the Bulls can realistically fix that problem without sacrificing draft capital. Williams' five-year, $90 million fully guaranteed deal remains one of the biggest leftovers from the previous regime, and his role under Bryson Graham and Tiago Splitter is now far from guaranteed.Plus, could the Bulls lose their best hidden shooter before training camp? Donovan Atwell looked like a cheap developmental shooting option after hitting 45.8% from three in college and Summer League, but his Bulls future may be less secure than expected.

Should the Chicago Bulls actually consider trading Josh Giddey — or is that take missing the bigger picture? On today's Chicago Bulls Central, Haize dives into a new Facts or Cap debate sparked by the idea that the Bulls may be better off trading Josh Giddey to fully build around Caleb Wilson and Matas Buzelis. Haize explains why the concern around Giddey's defense, shooting and roster fit is fair — but also why judging him off a poorly balanced Bulls roster and a clunky two-man game with Nikola Vučević may ignore what this new group could unlock. Can Giddey work with Caleb and Matas? Does the addition of Norman Powell, Nic Claxton, and a more athletic roster finally give Chicago a fair way to evaluate him? Then Haize asks another major question: If Norman Powell leads the Bulls in scoring, is that actually a good thing? Powell may be the safest 20-point scorer on the roster, but if Matas Buzelis takes the scoring crown, that could mean a true Year 3 leap. And if Caleb Wilson leads the team as a rookie? Bulls fans may be looking at a franchise-altering outcome.Plus, the NBA has once again left the Bulls mostly out of the national spotlight. Is that fair after a 31-win season? Or could Caleb Wilson's athleticism, Summer League dominance, and Chicago's young, exciting roster force the league to pay attention sooner than expected?
