Whereas we've mostly become accustomed to hearing about new cameras and lenses from Sony, lately it has been Nikon, Canon, and Fujifilm who have been making waves. And you know what? We couldn't be happier! The fact of the matter is that competition is a great thing, especially for consumers. It requires manufacturers to be on their toes by offering innovative products, compete with pricing, and provide users with options. And with Sony cornering the market with full-frame mirrorless cameras for so long, having some real competition has been long overdue. So, we thought that it'd be fun to devote an entire episode to discussing what Canon and Fujifilm have just announced along with putting our ears to the ground around a possible new entrant with Panasonic. These are interesting times to be a photographer, that's for sure! Tweet your questions and topics with #AskNNPS! Unless, of course, you don't care about copyright protection for photographers getting tossed into the garbage. Then, you may coast through this episode cool as a cucumber. But, our hunch is that this is a topic that's important to all of you. Our first story involves a judge who had a wildly dubious opinion on the use and enforcement of copyrighted photos, and whose ruling could have serious repercussions for photographers down the road. Fortunately, there has been no shortage of people blasting the judge for the myopic opinion. We'll see what happens there. Our second story is all about photographers doing dumb things and is sadly laced with some tragic news as a result. Still, we turn things around with a happy and cheery dose of "What's on Your Gear Shelf?", so all is well. We promise. Tweet your questions and topics with #AskNNPS! Please? ;)   Welcome to a new episode, friends! We've got one that'll make your blood boil a bit. Please? ;)   There's something about this episode that is making us really hungry. Maybe it has something to do with our first story involving a photographer and White Castle's somewhat uncouth digital marketing team. But don't you worry. White Castle ended up doing right by the photographer and we're gonna talk about it, as well as our love for their sliders. Don't judge! Our next story involves a very sad tale about a photographer losing her 8-year-old website because of some bumbling errors committed by her hosting company. It's a terrible situation to be in and we really feel for Jenny, the author of this story. Dessert gets served up with a fresh portion of "What's on Your Gear Shelf?" That rounds out episode 36 for Y'all. Enjoy! Tweet your questions and topics with #AskNNPS! Show Notes: • Photographer, Wasim Ahmad, shares his less-than-polite encounter with White Castle after they asked to use one of his photos on their Social Media accounts [via F-Stoppers] • Several months later, White Castle's VP of Marketing reaches out to make things right and we can all love their sliders once again [via F-Stoppers] • Photographer, Jenny Cruger, lost her website of eight years due to a bungling by her host company [via PetaPixel]   What's On Your Gear Shelf?
