In this episode, Katy and Kaylee discuss what shame looked like while drinking (puking in public & sneaking shots at the bar), and what it looks like for them now. In light of the #NoShameNovember campaign by @reframeapp they share their experience & what tools they're using to combat shame in the sober space✌
We say goodbye to Sober October in this episode as I share my experience of no drinking for the past 31 days and all that I've learned. The biggest lesson to be gained was about setting my priorities and what is important to me, gaining clarity, and not allowing what others want to get in the way. So what's next? This month we take on the mentality of No Shame November. Forget about what other's have to say or think about how you are choosing to live your life. And drop the judgement of the choices that others are making for themselves. No Shame! If we adopt this mentality, we gain back the confidence we deserve to go out into the world and be ourselves as create the life we dream of!
Originally recorded on December 16th, 2018It's a new year! Have you all settled in yet? Good. It's time to reflect on all the good and bad that 2018 brought us -- gaming-wise, of course. Yes, those three nasty boys you love so much got together to continue their year-end (and year-beginning) tradition of discussing the last 12 months of videogaming habits, favorite moments, and resolutions for 2019. Oh, and of course, they crown a deserving champion for the #NoShameNovember hashtag contest.Theme song by SNESEI: https://snesei.bandcamp.comAll music, snippets, and samples are properties of their respective copyright holders.
It is time once again for the annual #NoShameNovember episode! This year I have a very special guest joining the show: Adal Rifai (@AdalRifai) from “Hello From The Magic Tavern”! […]
Originally recorded on November 18th, 2018Content Warning: This one might get dark! The DAC Podcast Crew may have solved Thanksgiving Dinner amongst their various families, but have they truly purged themselves of the shame that comes from gorging on games? The holiday season is a time of personal self-reflection and healing as we approach the new year, so join Logan, Greg, and Chris as they air out their digital dirty laundry, excavate cybernetic skeletons from their computerized closets, and other poorly-thought-out, embarrassing metaphors. Seriously, though -- when is too much, truly too much? #NoShameNovember - tweet at @detroitarcade with your most egregious videogame crimes in terms of time spent in a single game, and you could be the winner of the DAC Cast Loot Crate. For real -- we'll read your tweets on the next episode and reward the best one with a very excellent package of unwanted, mystery trash!Theme song by SNESEI: https://snesei.bandcamp.comThank you to everyone who watched DAC's Extra Life 24 hour marathon this year! We raised $1,165 for the Hurley Children's Hospital in Flint, MI, and we couldn't have done it without your support. All music, snippets, and samples are properties of their respective copyright holders.
The annual tradition of #NoShameNovember is upon us once again! The time of the year when we admit our guilty pleasures in a "safe space". This year I was joined by some of my best friends, Tim Hall, Damien Randle, and Jess O'Brien.
That Guy Named John is joined by Steve and Dr. Andy as they take comfort in the safe space of the studio and talk about movies, TV shows, or music that we find ourselves having to explain to people why we like them, all the while taking no shame in liking them.
