Viral comedian and school custodian Jimmy Cash joins Dopey to tell a funny, painful, and unmistakably Dopey recovery story. Jimmy grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts, surrounded by addiction and Alcoholics Anonymous. His father—a high-school janitor—died from an overdose when Jimmy was nine, while his mother cycled through addiction, recovery, and relationships with other janitors. After watching The Basketball Diaries as a child, Jimmy became obsessed with getting high before he had even tried a real drug. By his teens, Jimmy was smoking weed, drinking, taking psychedelics, using cocaine and ketamine, getting arrested, and fighting with police. He recalls punching a cop who was kindly driving him home, attacking the weak knee of a college RA—or at least being accused of it—and causing a coked-out disaster at an IHOP that ended with him breaking the handle off a police car and being beaten in custody. Court-ordered AA eventually became genuine recovery. Jimmy got sober in 2003, built a family, became a custodian, and pursued his lifelong dream of stand-up comedy. His janitor videos went viral, leading to national attention and an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. But after more than 20 years without drinking or using, divorce, career pressure, grief, isolation, and insomnia left Jimmy sleeping on his younger sister's couch. He began “nibbling” cannabis edibles, quickly recognized that he was getting high, and made the humbling decision to return to AA and pick up a new 24-hour chip. The panel also tackles a common harvest question: can you dry your cannabis in the same tent you grew it in by simply turning off the lights? We discuss the ideal drying conditions, what to watch out for, and how to get the best possible cure. We also bust an old cannabis myth by asking whether Miracle-Gro really "sucks the THC" out of your plants, separating internet folklore from reality. The future of THC drinks and edibles remains in limbo. A federal law passed last year doesn't outright ban them, but it sets such strict THC limits that most of the products you see in stores today would effectively become illegal later this year. Lawmakers and the industry have been trying to find a compromise, and a new bill is being circulated that could bring the drama to an end. The dog showed strange symptoms and slipped in and out of consciousness, leading to a mountain rescue mission where veterinarians discovered the dog had ingested marijuana, likely through an edible or cannabis plant along the trail. Blue Angels Wind Gust: Jill then told a story about chaos erupting on a Florida beach when the Blue Angels flew low over Pensacola Beach, causing hats, chairs, and tents to fly through the wind gusts; an investigation has been opened into the incident. Nectarine Rights Battle: Keith shared a story about a California farmer giving away free nectarines because a rival company claimed exclusive rights to the white nectarine variety he grows, preventing him from selling them. The farmer is now facing legal action for infringing on the company’s rights, though he argues he’s not making money from the giveaway. Handstand Record and Kitten Litter: Terry then shared several unusual Guinness World Records involving handstands and walking on hands, including a Nepalese athlete’s achievements, before concluding with a story about a pregnant cat in Oklahoma that gave birth to kittens and a rabbit.
