Mark Antonacci discusses the Shroud of Turin and why he believes it can be authenticated with new scientific testing.
Dr. Mark Antonacci is a lawyer and seasoned investigator of the Shroud of Turin and its claim to be the burial cloth of Jesus. He discusses his book, "Test the Shroud" where he proposes chemical and molecular testing that could prove the resurrection and validate a miracle. This is an in-depth review of his hypothesis for the image on the shroud and the molecular characteristics that fingerprint the supernatural
Kathryn interviews Shroud of Turin expert and attorney Mark Antonacci JD, author of “Test the Shroud: At the Atomic and Molecular Levels”. This book supports the theory that 21st century atomic and molecular level testing will prove once and for all that the Shroud of Turin is the burial cloth of Jesus. Antonacci has the backing of several well-known scientists around the world and is petitioning the Vatican for these tests to be conducted. Antonacci has spent over 30 years studying all aspects of this evidence. Kathryn also interviews Ellen Kahn LCSW, Director of the HRC Foundation Children, Youth & Families Program. HRC represents a force of more than 1.5 million members and supporters nationwide. As the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer civil rights organization, HRC envisions a world where LGBTQ people are ensured of their basic equal rights, and can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community.

The Mind Renewed : Thinking Christianly in a New World Order
Hasn't the Shroud of Turin been exposed once and for all as a Mediaeval forgery (albeit the work of an artistic genius) thanks to rigorous carbon-dating tests carried out in the 1980s? Or is there more to be said? This week we are joined by attorney and author Mark Antonacci, founder and president of Test the Shroud Foundation, for a discussion on his fascinating book Test the Shroud : At the Atomic and Molecular Levels. Arguing that new scientific tests might contest these findings and reveal the Shroud to be very probably the genuine burial cloth of Jesus Christ, Mark Antonacci proposes a scientifically-testable hypothesis that particle radiation emanating from the shroud-wrapped, crucified body may account for very many of the Shroud's features, such as full-length body images, still-red blood marks, erroneous carbon dating and more. He also describes scientific tests that could be applied to the burial cloth and its human bloodstains that could, he believes, demonstrate whether or not the Shroud was impacted by a miraculous event, when and where it happened, and even the identity of the victim. Join us as we discuss the issues and debate whether or not his proposals might be fruitful in the ongoing quest to determine the truth about The Shroud of Turin. A shroud is a long linen cloth garment used in burials not only in ancient cultures but in today’s Middle East. The Shroud of Turin is a shroud that some believe is the burial cloth of Jesus. One of those believers is Mark Antonacci. Mark is the founder and president of the Test the Shroud Foundation, one of the world’s leading authorities on the Shroud of Turin. He gave the keynote address at the international conference held in Italy in conjunction with the Shroud’s exhibition in 2010. As an attorney, he has spent 34 years studying all aspects of the evidence relating to the Shroud of Turin and released his first book on the topic, The Resurrection of the Shroud, in 2000. The project received coverage from such high-profile outlets as the Chicago Sun Times, Dallas Morning News, Tulsa World News, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Trinity Broadcasting Network, and the nationally syndicated radio program “Coast to Coast AM.” Antonacci practices law and lives with his wife outside of St. Louis. An attorney can understand first-hand evidence and second-hand evidence. The question in this case is can it have been faked by an artist … as was its reputation for centuries. There were two schools of thought. One was that it is Jesus’ actual burial garment and the second, more popular school of thought was that it was a forgery, it was painted by an artist in medieval times. The second scenario is simply impossible.” A forger could not have duplicated all the features “naturally or by any artistic means.” Nor can all the features be duplicated today. You realize modern technology can simply reveal the details … but they can’t duplicate. Most features not seen in medival. Took modern photo and ultraviolet lighting and computer imaging to make features visible. exact shroud of Jesus? The Shroud of Turin has two full-length images of the front and back of a victim who not only had all the wounds Jesus had during His Passion but also all the wounds of from the crucifixion, including post-mortem. The body was in rigor mortis in a crucified position, and appears to have been executed with Roman instruments and buried by Jewish customs. Mark is recommending testing the shroud at the atomic and molecular levels. You could have indisputable proof that a miraculous event occurred after death and burial. The miracle would distinguish him from other victims. Millions of people have been buried in shrouds or other garments, but not similar to the image on the Shroud of Turin. Antonacci is convinced that additional testing at the atomic and molecular levels could easily prove that the crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection of Christ were actual events in history. Mark maintains that the marks on the cloth are those of a dead human body and were made with particle or neutron radiation that wasn’t discovered until the 20th century. The radiation accounts for more than 30 unique and remarkable features on the body image that includes still-red blood stains and the pre-mortem and post-mortem wounds that were inflicted upon Jesus. Test The Shroud presents illustrations to help explain the proposed testing, while the writing style is easy to understand and can be enjoyed by everyone.

Welcome to The Shaun Tabatt Show! In this episode I speak with Mark Antonacci about his recent book Test the Shroud.About the Book:Mark Antonacci makes compelling arguments about many prominent points in Test the Shroud. His accurate description of all the unique features on the Shroud of Turin allows him to convincingly argue that this is the authentic burial cloth of Jesus Christ. He presents a very testable hypothesis that particle radiation emanating from the dead, crucified body wrapped within this burial cloth caused its unprecedented, full-length body images, its still-red blood marks, its erroneous carbon dating and so many other unforgeable features. He even describes advanced scientific testing techniques that could be applied to this burial cloth and its human bloodstains that could demonstrate whether a miraculous event actually occurred; when it happened; where it happened; the actual age of the burial cloth and its bloodstains, and the identity of the victim. He contends that we live in a singular moment of history. These new scientific test results combined with previous unparalleled evidence would prove that the passion, crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.About the Author:Mark Antonacci is an attorney and author who has studied all aspects of the Shroud for 34 years. He wrote The Resurrection of the Shroud (New York: M. Evans and Co., 2000), the most comprehensive book ever written on the Shroud until his landmark book, Test the Shroud, was published in 2015.He gave the keynote address at the international conference held in Italy in conjunction with the Shroud's exhibition in 2010 in which he proposed that a new series of sophisticated, minimally-invasive tests be performed on the Shroud at the atomic and molecular levels of this famous burial cloth. He has written the leading scientific hypothesis that not only explains the Shroud's body images, but also its radiocarbon dating, its excellent condition, its pristine human blood marks, their still-red coloration, the possible outer side imaging, coin features and flower images, skeletal features and all of its other unique features. This hypothesis has been published in a peer reviewed scientific journal, and although it involves a miraculous event consistent with the resurrection, its occurrence can be scientifically tested. He asserts that these proposed tests could prove whether the Shroud was irradiated with particle radiation; whether the source was the length, width and depth of the crucified corpse in the cloth; when this event happened; where it occurred; the age of the Shroud and its blood; and the identity of the victim. He asserts this technology could also test all other natural or artistic explanations for the Shroud's images or its radiocarbon dating.Connect with Mark: TestTheShroud.org Facebook Twitter (@TestShroud) For additional show notes, visit ShaunTabatt.com/058.
