If the devil's greatest trick is to convince the world he does not exist, then the anti-christ's greatest trick is to convince the church that he has not yet arrived. If the Church is the body of Christ in the world today, then the corporate body of the anti-christ is the synagogue of satan today. The great falling away is not coming; the great falling away can be dated when “Christendom” was renamed “the West.” The antichrist is not coming — it is here. The beast is not coming — it is here. The “great falling away” is not coming — it is here. The man of sin is not coming — it is here ruling in the name of secular rational “man” The arrogance and blasphemy of the beast is not coming — it is here in a world that relegates “God” to the status of a personal religion within a self-existing universe devoid of the Creator. We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other, 4 so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure, 5 which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer; 2 Thessalonians1:3-5Support the show

Tony looks at 2 Thessalonians1 and compares the church at Thessalonica to us. Growing in faith abounding in love is the reputation we want. Tony also asks the question; what is love? verse 11 explains it: "Doing his works of goodness inspired by faith."
October 30, 2016 How Can You Tell? 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 Synopsis: People in his day might have had a problem identifying Zacchaeus in a crowd (Luke 19:1-10). In fact, they might have problems even seeing him. He was an influential man though short in statue. His influence changed when he came face to face with Jesus. Everyone around him could tell the difference. “How can you tell?” He started giving back that which he had wrongfully taken. That was a first for Zacchaeus but he was not the first to be transformed by his encounter with Jesus. When faith flourishes love does too (2 Thessalonians1:3). “Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked. But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.” (Habakkuk 2:4) Text (NLT): Luke 19:1-10; Romans 8:38-39; Ephesians 6:10-12; 2 Thessalonians 1:1-4, 11-12; Habakkuk 2:1-4.
