Virginia Roberts Giuffre filed a civil lawsuit in 2021 against Prince Andrew in federal court in New York, alleging that he sexually abused her on multiple occasions in 2001 when she was 17 years old and being trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. The complaint detailed encounters in London, New York, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and included the now-infamous photograph showing Andrew with his arm around her waist. Andrew repeatedly denied the allegations, most notably in his 2019 BBC interview, where he offered unusual explanations that drew widespread scrutiny. His legal team initially sought to have the case dismissed, challenging jurisdiction and the validity of Giuffre's claims. However, a federal judge allowed the case to proceed, intensifying public and institutional pressure on the royal household. In February 2022, before the case went to trial, Andrew reached an out-of-court settlement with Giuffre without admitting liability, reportedly paying a substantial sum and agreeing to a statement expressing regret for his association with Epstein.Royal historians and constitutional commentators were sharply critical of Andrew's handling of the crisis, arguing that his confrontational legal posture and the tone of his public denials deepened reputational damage to the monarchy. Many contended that the decision to grant the BBC interview was strategically disastrous, portraying him as evasive and detached rather than transparent. Others argued that his initial effort to fight the lawsuit aggressively in U.S. court clashed with long-standing royal traditions of restraint and discretion, prolonging the scandal instead of containing it. Critics suggested that by refusing early mediation and allowing the case to advance publicly, Andrew forced the institution into a defensive position that threatened broader stability for the royal family. Historians noted that the monarchy survives on public trust and symbolic integrity, and that Andrew's legal strategy appeared to prioritize personal exoneration over institutional preservation. The eventual settlement, while closing the civil case, was widely viewed as a tacit acknowledgment that the strategy had failed to shield either his reputation or that of the Crown.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com

Ian Maxwell — brother of convicted Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell — publicly commented that Prince Andrew essentially had no real option but to settle his sexual assault lawsuit with Virginia Giuffre rather than fight it in court. Maxwell suggested the combination of intense public scrutiny, the strength of Giuffre's allegations, and the political and reputational risk to the British monarchy made a contested trial untenable for the prince. He said that the allegations — which claimed Giuffre was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein and forced into sexual encounters with Andrew when she was a minor — had created “immense pain” for the royal family and that Andrew, feeling cornered by both legal pressure and the broader cultural climate around believing victims, chose to resolve the matter quietly to minimize further damage.Maxwell also implied that timing and public perception — including the heightened sensitivity around sexual abuse and the impact on the royal family, particularly during Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee — played into the decision to settle. He framed the settlement as a strategic retreat rather than an admission of guilt, arguing that Andrew's priority was to protect the Crown's reputation and “do the best he could” for his family in extraordinarily difficult circumstances. Despite settling the case, Andrew continued to deny the underlying allegations, and the commentary highlighted how the fallout from his association with Epstein and the civil claims profoundly affected his public standing and royal role.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.

This week, Andrew got a great question from a newer attendee who grew up Episcopalian and wanted to understand the difference between what they were used to and what they're hearing now. So we talk preaching styles, liturgy, structure, and why some sermons feel like a written prayer while others feel like a guided tour through the text with a few side roads along the way.Tim is deep in the middle of a vision campaign, which currently means he is eating three meals a day with church members. After three sermons and a new members class yesterday, he logged 240 minutes of speaking time. That is four straight hours, for those keeping score at home. Hydration is now a spiritual discipline.Frank hosted a launch team meeting and start-up party for Cross & Crown, and momentum is building in all the right ways. And to top it all off, our friend Adam Powers is in the house, which means the conversation is lively, the takes are strong, and someone probably says something they shouldn't.It's another week of preaching, planting, casting vision, and trying to find our voices by Monday morning.

Nick Kypreos, Justin Bourne and Sam McKee look back on Team Canada's loss to the USA in the gold medal game on Sunday morning. They break down the game and discuss whether there are any roster regrets, missed opportunities from Connor McDavid, Macklin Celebrini and Nathan MacKinnon, and Jon Cooper's coaching in overtime. Later, former Leafs GM Gord Stellick joins the show (30:49) to share his take on the game, whether Canada brought the right group to Milan, what a gold medal run can do for Auston Matthews, players at the Olympics poking fun at Leafs fans, and whether the Olympics should review 3-on-3 overtime for future events. The Finance Minister says there's no mandate to reduce the state's shareholding in Genesis Energy. The Crown's directing $200 million towards new shares to retain a 51% shareholding in the company, following a $400 million capital raise. Nicola Willis told Mike Hosking if we don't take part in this raise, we'd be breaching the law requiring the state to maintain majority ownership – something the coalition's committed to. She says we don't want to be a barrier to these energy companies growing in the way New Zealanders need to secure electricity supply. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Genesis Energy says fresh Crown investment into the power generator will go towards building infrastructure. The Government's confirmed it will put up to $200 million dollars - letting it retain its 51 percent shareholding, as Genesis launches a capital raise. Chief executive Malcolm Johns says the money will speed up its ability to build. "We're gonna build some solar farms, some grid-scale batteries and some wind, and extend the life of Huntly Rankines." Join the H-Hour Patron Community at patreon.com/hkpodcasts ***** In this H-Hour Icebreaker, I welcome back Bags Simmons after roughly 18 months since his last appearance on the show. Answering questions submitted by H-Hour Patrons, Bags explains that the British didn't deploy tanks to Afghanistan, but used heavily protected armoured vehicles like Mastiff/Cougar variants, describing restricted visibility, the need to get out and speak with locals, and the major IED risk posed by predictable routes—especially canals—plus his fear of drowning if a vehicle rolled due to welded front doors and heavy rear exits. He argues the Afghanistan campaign's aims shifted from al-Qaeda to the Taliban, lacked coherent long-term strategy, and misunderstood Afghanistan's tribal “donut” dynamic and the Durand Line, concluding there wasn't a clear “win” and the withdrawal was rushed on a US timeline, leaving allies behind despite strong on-the-ground performance. He also discusses pledging allegiance to the Crown and his views on the Royal Family, praising the Queen's 70-year reign and saying Charles has transitioned well while criticizing controversies around Prince Harry and Prince Andrew, before previewing the full podcast.

As the fallout from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's arrest continues, the central question is no longer just Andrew — it's whether King Charles the Third can contain what the Palace now faces as a full-spectrum crisis. BBC royal correspondent Jonny Dymond notes that no one would envy the King's position, caught between family loyalty and duty to the Crown, and that the Palace's attempted separation of “Andrew the outcast” from “the institution” is a distinction the public simply doesn't accept. To most people, the Palace, the Royal Family and the monarchy remain one and the same.We also look at the major story that was swallowed by the scandal: the launch of the King's environmental documentary Finding Harmony: A King's Vision, which was immediately eclipsed by renewed Epstein-linked attention on Andrew. Palace sources describe anger behind the scenes and suggest the timing hardened Charles's resolve to fully cooperate with investigators and distance his reign from his brother's controversies. Meanwhile, Bloomberg's Andrew Hastings argues that dragging Andrew to Washington for a congressional appearance risks becoming a “show trial,” while the Express reaches for Tudor-era imagery to describe the speed with which the Palace has moved to push Andrew further out.In Britain, political pressure is intensifying. Labour MP Rachael Maskell says Andrew should be stripped of remaining constitutional roles and removed from the line of succession, while Deep Crown argues the Counsellor of State issue is no longer a curiosity but a vulnerability — one that demands “managed removal,” not managed distance. And as the Daily Mail's A.N. Wilson warns that the monarchy is now in grave jeopardy, the Palace is left trying to execute a single calculation: isolate the disgrace, protect the Crown, and keep the succession intact.Get episodes of Palace Intrigue by becommming a paid subscriber on Apple Podcasts. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor may be out of custody, but his legal position remains unresolved. Police searches have concluded at Sandringham and continue at Royal Lodge, and investigators are now reviewing evidence before consulting the Crown Prosecution Service. His release under investigation carries no bail conditions and no time limit.Charges, if they come, could take weeks or months. If prosecuted, the case would formally be styled The King v Mountbatten-Windsor — a constitutionally routine caption that would nevertheless carry extraordinary symbolism. Criminal prosecutions in England and Wales are brought in the name of the Crown, not the personal will of King Charles. But the optics of “The King versus his brother” would be unprecedented in modern times. Get episodes of Palace Intrigue by becommming a paid subscriber on Apple Podcasts. In this episode of Home in Progress, Dan Hansen tackles three practical home topics that can quietly make or break your projects.First: Caulking before painting.Fresh paint exposes every gap your house has developed over time. Dan explains exactly where to caulk (baseboards, trim-to-wall joints, crown molding lines, built-ins, chair rail edges) — and where not to caulk (nail holes, drywall cracks, miter joints, floating cabinet panels). Using the wrong product in the wrong place can cause failure later. He also shares a tip on faster paint-ready caulks for projects on a tight timeline.Next: Laundry room flow upgrades.Dan continues his laundry efficiency series by focusing on two key zones: the processing zone (wash/dry) and the folding zone. He explains why vertical storage prevents bottlenecks, why detergents should usually stay in their original containers, and how to create a folding station that doesn't interfere with servicing your machines. Smart layout beats pretty décor every time. Finally: Choosing paint colors for someone who is colorblind.Dan clears up myths about colorblindness (it's rarely black-and-white vision) and explains how value, contrast, texture, and lighting matter more than hue. He offers practical design strategies and real-world examples to help homeowners make confident color decisions that work for everyone in the house.Resources Mentioned:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNnCafjjgBwEpisode Timeline:00:00 Welcome + What's Coming Up (Colorblind Paint Picks & Laundry Room Upgrades)01:13 Why Caulking Matters Before You Paint02:33 Where to Caulk: Baseboards, Casings, Crown & Built-Ins04:22 Where NOT to Caulk: Nail Holes, Miters & Drywall Cracks06:21 Cabinet Door Trap: Floating Panels vs MDF (When Caulk Fails)07:39 Quick Sponsor Tip: Fast-Paint Caulk Deal (Tower Sealants Accelerator)08:19 Laundry Rooms Part 2: Processing Zone & Workflow Setup10:17 Use Vertical Space: Shelves, Hooks, Pegboard Above Machines11:45 Detergent Storage Reality Check: Don't Decant (Safety, Instructions, Effectiveness)16:21 If You Must Decant: Do It Safely + Extra Storage Hacks (Doors, Carts, Tension Rods)19:18 Laundry Room Flow: Clear Counters & Create a Folding Zone21:59 Why Folding Elsewhere Breaks the System (Dining Table, Living Room, Dogs)24:49 DIY Folding Stations: Countertops for Front-Loaders & Hinged Options for Top-Loaders26:50 Don't Build It In: Modular Counters, Machine Access & Water Hookups27:48 Air-Dry Solutions: Racks, Retractable Lines & Space-Saving Ideas29:23 Sponsor Break + Listener Question: Choosing Paint Colors for Colorblindness30:29 Colorblindness 101: Myths, Types, and How Common It Really Is34:37 Designing for Color Vision Deficiency: Value, Contrast, Texture, Lighting38:13 Real-World Example + Wrap-Up: Smarter Color Choices and Final Sign-Off
Few legal decisions in British Columbia have unsettled homeowners, investors, and policymakers quite like the recent Cowichan land claim ruling. What began as a courtroom examination of Aboriginal title in Richmond has quickly evolved into a province-wide conversation about property rights, constitutional law, and the future of land ownership in Canada. In this episode, we move beyond the headlines and into substance, joined by one of the country's leading voices in Aboriginal law, Anita Boscariol, Associate Counsel at Watson Goepel. With deep expertise in UNDRIP and British Columbia's DRIPA legislation, Anita brings clarity to a topic that has generated more heat than light. At the center of the discussion is a question many British Columbians never expected to ask: can Aboriginal title and private fee simple ownership legally coexist?Anita begins by unpacking the legal architecture that led us here. Section 35 of Canada's Constitution recognizes and affirms existing Aboriginal and treaty rights. UNDRIP, adopted federally and provincially through DRIPA, did not create new rights but reframed how governments must approach decision-making — shifting from simple consultation toward alignment with Indigenous rights and title. In effect, the legal environment has matured. Courts are now applying principles that have existed constitutionally for decades with greater rigor. The Cowichan ruling raised eyebrows because it discussed Aboriginal title over lands currently held in private fee simple. The court described Aboriginal title as a “prior and senior right” — language that sparked anxiety among homeowners. Anita explains that this does not automatically invalidate private ownership, nor does it signal immediate land transfers. Rather, it forces courts and governments to confront how overlapping legal interests can be reconciled. The episode explores whether historical use — such as fishing or seasonal occupation — could support future claims, and whether 95% of British Columbia being unceded territory places the entire province at risk. Anita clarifies that while most of BC lacks historic treaties, successful title claims require strict legal tests, including exclusive occupation at the time of Crown sovereignty. The bar remains high. For homeowners, the message is measured: avoid panic-driven decisions. Stay informed. Understand the distinction between legal theory and practical outcome. The Cowichan case signals a continued evolution in Indigenous-Crown relations — not the erasure of private ownership. As British Columbia navigates reconciliation within a modern economic framework, the balance between constitutional recognition and property certainty will define the next chapter. And in a province where real estate underpins both household wealth and public finance, that chapter matters profoundly. To reach us with inquiries, email marketing@watsongoepel.com https://www.youtube.com/@WatsonGoepelLLP https://www.instagram.com/watsongoepel/ https://www.linkedin.com/company/watson-goepel-llp https://www.watsongoepel.com/ _________________________________ Contact Us To Book Your Private Consultation:

With just a few days to go before Charlotte FC kicks off the 2026 MLS season for the entire league out in St. Louis, we welcome back Andrew Wiebe to Soccer City! While he freely admits that preseason prognostication is a fool's game in this league, Andrew does offer up some tasty takes on how Luca de la Torre reshapes the Charlotte Midfield, why there's no urgency just yet when it comes to Wilf Zaha's contract situation, and why Nathan Byrne might be the most underrated player in all of MLS.We might've even squeezed out an answer to the question of "How far can Charlotte FC go in 2026?" We're so so so so close, folks, and we're always For the Crown, Baby!
Mac & Bone are joined by Anna Witte, Charlotte FC radio network analyst, as she talks about the off-season additions for the club, and what we should expect from The Crown in year three under Dean Smith See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been released under investigation after spending approximately 11 hours in police custody, but the inquiry into alleged misconduct in public office is widening. Arrested shortly after 8am at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate, he was later photographed reclining in the back seat of a vehicle as he left Aylsham Police Station — an image already being described as emblematic of the day. Release under investigation means no bail conditions and no charges, but police retain the power to recall or rearrest him at any time.Officers have continued searches at Royal Lodge in Windsor, cataloguing seized materials as part of what legal experts describe as a complex, potentially long-running investigation. The maximum sentence for misconduct in public office is life imprisonment.King Charles maintained public engagements, including London Fashion Week, despite criticism over optics. US President Donald Trump called the situation “very sad,” while royal commentators described the moment as the worst nightmare for the monarchy. Questions about sovereign immunity have been raised, but legal experts confirm such protection applies only to the reigning monarch — not to Andrew. As commentators debate whether the Crown can contain the fallout, one thing is clear: this story is far from over.Get episodes of Palace Intrigue by becommming a paid subscriber on Apple Podcasts. Content Warning: This episode deals with highly sensitive and graphic allegations. It may not be suitable for all audiences. The crisis surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor continues to intensify, with royal commentators warning the arrest represents a defining moment for the monarchy. Royal expert Emily Andrews has called it a “wake-up call,” raising urgent questions about what palace insiders knew and when.Writing in the Independent, Anne McElvoy argues that while King Charles the Third's swift statement that “the law must take its course” was remarkable in tone and clarity, it may not be enough to halt reputational damage.Other commentators suggest Andrew will be cast as the isolated “outcast” figure in an effort to shield the Crown and secure the succession. In a deeply disturbing development, newly surfaced material linked to the Epstein files includes serious historical allegations involving Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.Meanwhile, attention has also turned to the optics of a lifestyle promotion email from Meghan Markle's As Ever brand released hours after the arrest became public, prompting criticism about timing as the Royal Family navigates one of its most serious crises in modern times.Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor remains under investigation. No charges have been filed. Palace Intrigue continues on a modified publishing schedule as events unfold.Get episodes of Palace Intrigue by becommming a paid subscriber on Apple Podcasts. Since the late nineteenth century, amusement parks have been providing countless hours of enjoyment for people all around the world. Often driven by the latest technology and advances in mechanical engineering, the thrill rides at parks like Disney Land, Great America, and other independent parks offer a controlled environment to experience terror and excitement. While these rides, and the parks in general, are very safe and held to strict safety standards, there are times when the unthinkable happens—a cable snaps, a safety harness breaks—and the once safe ride becomes a nightmare for passengers. Far more often than not, tragic amusement park accidents are the result of human foolishness or, far less often, operator error. But other times, they are a bizarre fluke; a one in a million mechanical problem no one saw coming. Either way, the results can be shocking, horrifying, and even deadly.Recommendations:Jawsh on tikTok ReferencesAdler, Eric, and Katy Bergen. 2016. It's been another frantic week in the world of pro cycling, with early season races in several parts of southern Europe and the Middle East. Tudor Pro Cycling's Larry Warbasse, who began his season at the Tour of Oman, is back in the co-host's seat with Daniel Friebe to review some of the key action and talking points. The most prestigious of the races starting this week, at least according to the UCI's ranking system, is the UAE Tour. Many expected a revealing first head-to-head battle between Remco Evenepoel and Isaac Del Toro, and indeed they emerged from the first three stages with a win apiece. Only one of the pair, though, will have been satisfied with his GC position with the final showdown at Jebel Hafeet to come – and that was Del Toro. Larry and Daniel discuss Evenepoel's struggles at the other Jebel, Mobrah, and ponder what they say about the rest of his season. We also talk about some other prodigious talents that have been in spotlight early this year, wayward leadouts and Pinarello Q36.5's recent trip to Chile, as described to us by Fred Wright. It's not “Presidents' Day.” Legally, it's George Washington's Birthday—and we've quietly erased the one American who actually deserves a national holiday.- This episode is sponsored by ExpressVPN. In Part Two of our series on Charlotte of Belgium (Empress Carlota of Mexico)… we wish we had better news. When we last left our neglected princess, she and her husband, Archduke Maximilian of Austria, had been approached by Napoleon III and offered the crown of Mexico. Charlotte—starved for purpose and convinced this is her destiny—is all in. Max is less sure, but with the blessing of Pope Pius IX, the new Emperor and Empress set sail for Mexico. Where the dream immediately implodes. What follows is one of the most tragic and debated breakdowns in royal history—and the fall of the Second Mexican Empire. We also draw parallels to one of our classic Queens Podcast episodes on Juana of Castile, another queen labeled “mad” and locked away.
