Since the late nineteenth century, amusement parks have been providing countless hours of enjoyment for people all around the world. Often driven by the latest technology and advances in mechanical engineering, the thrill rides at parks like Disney Land, Great America, and other independent parks offer a controlled environment to experience terror and excitement. While these rides, and the parks in general, are very safe and held to strict safety standards, there are times when the unthinkable happens—a cable snaps, a safety harness breaks—and the once safe ride becomes a nightmare for passengers. Far more often than not, tragic amusement park accidents are the result of human foolishness or, far less often, operator error. But other times, they are a bizarre fluke; a one in a million mechanical problem no one saw coming. It's been another frantic week in the world of pro cycling, with early season races in several parts of southern Europe and the Middle East. Tudor Pro Cycling's Larry Warbasse, who began his season at the Tour of Oman, is back in the co-host's seat with Daniel Friebe to review some of the key action and talking points. The most prestigious of the races starting this week, at least according to the UCI's ranking system, is the UAE Tour. Many expected a revealing first head-to-head battle between Remco Evenepoel and Isaac Del Toro, and indeed they emerged from the first three stages with a win apiece. Only one of the pair, though, will have been satisfied with his GC position with the final showdown at Jebel Hafeet to come – and that was Del Toro. Larry and Daniel discuss Evenepoel's struggles at the other Jebel, Mobrah, and ponder what they say about the rest of his season. I believe the time has come to ask the question the Establishment is desperate to shut down. King Charles III is a man under immense strain. He is visibly not recovering, not easing back, not growing stronger — and the relentless pressure of scandal, silence and institutional failure is bearing down on him. I believe that for the good of the Crown, abdication must now be on the table. This crisis has a name: Prince Andrew. His association with Jeffrey Epstein continues to rot the monarchy from the inside. The question is simple and unavoidable: why has Andrew still not gone to the United States to be formally questioned? What exactly is being protected — and who? And then there's the part Westminster really doesn't want discussed. While Andrew absorbs all the heat, Peter Mandelson — another man with documented Epstein links — was handed a top ambassadorial job. That wasn't an accident. That was a political decision taken by Keir Starmer — and it was a catastrophic misstep. So I'll say it plainly: Andrew should go to the United States and be questioned. Mandelson should go to the United States and be questioned. No hiding places. No double standards. If Starmer cannot or will not protect the monarchy from this level of damage, then he has no business lecturing anyone about standards in public life. The monarchy is entering dangerous territory — and I believe there is only one way to stabilise it. Prince William represents clarity, authority, and a line under years of scandal. This show doesn't whisper. It doesn't apologise. And it doesn't play palace games.

The riots, protests, and boycotts that broke out in North America in the wake of the Stamp Act were only one part of the mass crisis that beset Great Britain in the 1760s, as the discontented poor and middle classes rallied behind the ideals of liberty and freedom of speech, and around “radical Whig” politicians who challenged the power of the Crown and the London oligarchy – none more so than the infamous provocateur, satirist, and “rake,” John Wilkes, who ignited popular passions in London and the colonies and nearly burned down the ruling Whig establishment. We examine a key specimen of a tiny glass cufflink jewel inscribed with the incendiary slogan, “Wilkes and Liberty,” which was rececntly discovered in an abandoned town in North Carolina, and which has touched off a wave of similar discoveries, revealing the importance of small, almost unnoticeable objects in the spread of discontent and radical rhetoric across the Atlantic in the years before the American Revolution.
